1. This program presents more discussion with the brilliant Kevin Coogan, author of Dreamer of the Day: Francis Parker Yockey and the Postwar Fascist International (softcover, Autonomedia, copyright 1999. ISBN 1–57027-039–2.)
2. This program begins by highlighting the career of Werner Naumann, a Waffen SS veteran, Goebbels propaganda ministry official and postwar Nazi operative.
3. The program sets forth Naumann’s association with the H.S. Lucht company, a Madrid-based front company for postwar Nazi activity. Active in the Middle East and the former East Bloc, Naumann and H.S. Lucht were connected to a 1953 coup attempt in the Federal Republic of Germany, aimed at the formal restoration of National Socialism to that country.
4. The program analyzes connections between the Naumann group, what Coogan calls the “Shadow Reich” (and what Mr. Emory calls the Underground Reich) and “anti-imperialist” popular liberation movements in the Third World (the Middle East, in particular.) Aimed at driving the British from that key part of the world, Underground Reich support for Nasser in Egypt and Mossadegh in Iran perpetuated Nazi influence in the Middle East.
5. Nasser, Fazollah Zahedi and Ali Rashid had led Nazi-supported, anti-British coup attempts during the Second World War. (Saddam Hussein draws much of his political heritage from Ali Rashid, as discussed in FTR-87. Fazollah Zahedi was selected by the CIA-backed coup plotter of 1953 to replace Mossadegh as prime minister. Zaehedi married the Shah’s sister, helped set up the Shah’s dreaded SAVAK secret police, and fathered Ardeshir Zahedi, who became the Shah’s ambassador to the United States.)
6. Coogan discusses Haj Amin Al-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and a former Waffen SS officer. With strong connections to the Third Reich and to Muslim liberation movements in the Third World, the Grand Mufti wielded profound influence in the postwar world.
7. Coogan analyzes the Grand Mufti’s role in organizing the World Muslim Congress, closely affiliated with what was to become the World Anti-Communist League.)
8. Former Egyptian President Anwar Sadat was affiliated with the WMC and the Grand Mufti in the 1950’s.
9. The program highlights the Grand Mufti’s role in the Bandung (Indonesia) Conference and the formal genesis of the term Third World, and the policy formula pursued by the nations in that alignment.
10. After highlighting the role of Francis Parker Yockey with the Egyptian/Nazi milieu under Nasser, Coogan presents an Argentine/Egyptian plan to develop a nuclear bomb to be used against Israel. This plan involved the use of Third Reich scientists in exile in Argentina. The broadcast concludes with discussion of Yockey’s connections to, and support for, Fidel Castro. Like many fascist elements, Yockey and his milieu supported elements of the Soviet Bloc and the Third World against what they perceived as “U.S. imperialism.”
