The cancer virus very well could have had a larger unknown role to those working on it. But if I recall, Haslam's book ALSO claims the work on the virus INCLUDED a potential method of reversing the lethal effects of the monkey kidney vaccinations given to all those children. In fact, the work to create a 'Super Strain' was not even the sole goal. The work to create the deadliest of cancers was for the expressed reason to reveal a possible cure FOR cancer. A woman such as Sherman would not be in the lab night and day working on a bioweapon simply as a bioweapon. She and others, like Ms Vary, were lured into this work because it was presented to them as a method of finding a cure - with the killing of Castro merely a convenient side effect of that work. In effect, if the intelligence/military community wanted to kill Castro, all they had to do would have been to infiltrate his entourage and have one of his men put a bullet in his head. Period. The direct route, in this case, is the best. I think the doctors who made the original research in the labs in the '50 were not told the REAL long-term reason for this biological weapon: the extermination or reducing of Blacks and homosexuals. This DOES make sense because, contrary to Castro, you can't politically put a bullet in all these heads and get away with it. Keep on the good work!
