Doc­u­ment­ing the var­ied and grow­ing activ­i­ties of “neo”-Nazi ele­ments around the world, we note that a mem­ber of the British fas­cist party (BNP) has been invited to an annual tea that the Queen of Eng­land has at Buck­ing­ham Palace.

Next, vis­it­ing a story that broke after the pro­gram was recorded, we note that the alleged slayer of an abortion-providing physi­cian in Kansas was asso­ci­ated with the “Sov­er­eign” move­ment, a populist/Nazi move­ment that main­tains that its mem­bers are “sov­er­eign” and don’t have to pay taxes. They also call them­selves the “Law­men” and are a bunch of rav­ing fas­cists. Some of them are stone killers. Sadly (pre­dictably?), they have gar­nered con­sid­er­able suc­cess in mar­ket­ing their agenda to the so-called “pro­gres­sive” polit­i­cal sector.

In FTR #668, we noted the killing of three Pitts­burgh cops, allegedly by a neo-fascist named Richard Poplawski. At roughly the same time as the Pitts­burgh cop kil­ings, another neo-fascist named Joshua Cartwright killed two Florida cops.

Just before being pub­lished another of the milieu of the “Freemen”, “Sov­er­eigns”, anti-tax and anti-abortion milieu com­mit­ted yet another mur­der. James Van Brunn killed a secu­rity guard at the National Holo­caust Museum. Van Brunn, too, adhered to the neo-Nazi creed and was an asso­ciate of Rea­gan White House staffer Todd Blod­gett.

Among the most promi­nent Amer­i­can neo-fascists is for­mer KKK leader David Duke, who has relo­cated to Aus­tria, allegedly to become a naturalist/bird watcher! Other “Reichish” per­sons with whom Duke might net­work while in cen­tral Europe include NPD leader Udo Voigt (recently ban­ished from a Ger­man mil­i­tary orga­ni­za­tion) and “anar­chist” neo-Nazis, who are begin­ning to pop­u­late the increas­ingly vio­lent Ger­man neo-Nazi scene. Swedish neo-Nazi leader Patrik Brinkmann has relo­cated to Ger­many and might bump into Duke as well.

One cen­tral Euro­pean neo-Nazi with whom Duke will not be net­work­ing is Michael Dwyer. Though of Irish descent, Dwyer was asso­ci­ated with Hun­gar­ian and Roman­ian “neo’s”–until he was shot dead dur­ing an attempt on the life of Boli­vian pres­i­dent Evo Morales. A domes­tic KKK leader whom Duke will not meet again is Klan leader (and prob­a­ble U.S. intel­li­gence oper­a­tive) Roy Frankhouser, who died at the age of 69.

Pres­sure was grow­ing on Richard Barn­brook, the far-right group’s Lon­don Assem­bly mem­ber who has invited Mr Grif­fin to accom­pany him to the event on July 21, to nom­i­nate a ‘more accept­able guest’ or have his invi­ta­tion withdrawn.

Lon­don Mayor Boris John­son has writ­ten to Lon­don Assem­bly chair­man Dar­ren John­son demand­ing deci­sive action to pre­vent any ‘poten­tial embar­rass­ment to Her Majesty’. . . . .”

“A doc­u­men­tary film about the Holo­caust has incited the wrath of the Ukrain­ian nation­al­ist orga­ni­za­tion Free­dom. The film, an ama­teur pro­duc­tion enti­tled Two Tan­gos, was shown once in Lvov to older Polish-speaking school chil­dren at a state school at the end of last year. The show­ing was spon­sored by the Jew­ish NGO Chesed Aryeh as part of a pro­gram in the local schools to encour­age tolerance.

Local Free­dom leader Ivan Grynda sent a com­plaint to the city pros­e­cu­tor, claim­ing the show­ing con­sti­tuted anti-Ukrainian activ­ity. Grynda was offended by his­tor­i­cal footage in the film show­ing women in tra­di­tional Ukrain­ian dress wel­com­ing Nazi sol­diers with flow­ers. After a month’s inves­ti­ga­tion, the pros­e­cu­tor found that there was no crim­i­nal ele­ment in the show­ing of the film. Local author­i­ties pres­sured schools to avoid the film in any case.

The inter­ven­tion of Pol­ish diplo­mats was nec­es­sary to save the direc­tor of the Pol­ish school from dis­missal. Free­dom then insisted that a com­mis­sion, made up of city offi­cials and Grynda, be formed and that it send the film to edu­ca­tional experts. The experts com­mented that the film was inap­pro­pri­ate for young chil­dren due to its vio­lent con­tent. As a result, Chesed Aryeh was banned from con­duct­ing any activ­i­ties in the Lvov school system.

Free­dom gained atten­tion last month after it financed a cam­paign of posters prais­ing the local Waffen-SS Gali­cia divi­sion. The large posters depicted the emblem of the divi­sion with the words ‘They defended Ukraine’ writ­ten on them in Ukrain­ian. Free­dom also suc­cess­fully pressed for a plaque to be erected to the mem­ory of that divi­sion. Lvov (Lviv in Ukrain­ian) is an ancient city in the west of Ukraine with a pop­u­la­tion of almost three-quarters of a mil­lion peo­ple. It had large Jew­ish and Pol­ish com­mu­ni­ties before the Sec­ond World War. Those com­mu­ni­ties were nearly com­pletely annihilated.”

“The sus­pect in cus­tody in con­nec­tion with the slay­ing of abor­tion doc­tor George Tiller was a mem­ber of an anti-government group in the 1990s and a staunch oppo­nent of abor­tion. . . Roeder, who in the 1990s was a man­u­fac­tur­ing assem­bly­man, also was involved in the ‘Freemen’ movement.

‘Freemen’ was a term adopted by those who claimed sov­er­eignty from gov­ern­ment juris­dic­tion and oper­ated under their own legal sys­tem, which they called common-law courts. Adher­ents declared them­selves exempt from laws, reg­u­la­tions and taxes and often filed liens against judges, pros­e­cu­tors and oth­ers, claim­ing that money was owed to them as compensation.

In April 1996, Roeder was arrested in Topeka after Shawnee County sheriff’s deputies stopped him for not hav­ing a proper license plate. In his car, offi­cers said they found ammu­ni­tion, a blast­ing cap, a fuse cord, a one-pound can of gun­pow­der and two 9-volt bat­ter­ies, with one con­nected to a switch that could have been used to trig­ger a bomb. . . .”

4. In FTR #668, we noted the killing of three Pitts­burgh cops, allegedly by a neo-fascist named Richard Poplawski. A crea­ture of the same polit­i­cal stripe as Roeder, Poplawski was also a fol­lower of 9/11 “Truther” Alex Jones, him­self a fellow-traveller of the neo-Nazi move­ment. (Note: Jones also fea­tures some anti-fascist mate­r­ial on his broad­cast. He is not nec­es­sar­ily an ide­o­logue, rather, it is sadly char­ac­ter­is­tic of the con­tem­po­rary polit­i­cal land­scape that com­men­ta­tors present fas­cists as anti-fascists and often can’t tell the dif­fer­ence.) At roughly the same time as the Pitts­burgh cop kil­ings, another neo-fascist named Joshua Cartwright killed two Florida cops.

5a. Just before being pub­lished another of the milieu of the “Freemen”, “Sov­er­eigns”, anti-tax and anti-abortion milieu com­mit­ted yet another mur­der. James Van Brunn killed a secu­rity guard at the National Holo­caust Museum. Van Brunn, too, adhered to the neo-Nazi creed.

“On Decem­ber 7, 1981, a man named James W. Von Brunn pulled out a sawed-off shot­gun at the Fed­eral Reserve Board head­quar­ters, claim­ing to have planted a bomb and threat­en­ing to take mem­bers of the Board hostage. That was 40 years to the day after the Japan­ese bombed Pearl Har­bor, though it’s unclear whether that’s a coin­ci­dence or not.

Years later, he’d describe the entire inci­dent some­what differently.

‘In 1981 Von Brunn attempted to place the trea­so­nous Fed­eral Reserve Board of Gov­er­nors under legal, non-violent, cit­i­zens arrest. He was tried in a Wash­ing­ton, D.C. Supe­rior Court; con­victed by a Negro jury, Jew/Negro attor­neys, and sen­tenced to prison for eleven years by a Jew judge. A Jew/Negro/White Court of Appeals denied his appeal.

At the time of his sen­tenc­ing in March, 1983, he was 62 years old. He ulti­mately served six and a half years in prison, which seem­ingly did noth­ing to change his extreme views on race. Almost 20 years after he was released, police say, he stormed the secured entrance of the Holo­caust Museum in Wash­ing­ton, D.C., with a shot­gun and opened fire, wound­ing one guard. [The guard later died–D.E.] He was ulti­mately shot himself.

Von Brunn, appar­ently a World War II vet, has a long his­tory of white suprema­cist writ­ing. His book, ‘Kill The Best Gen­tiles,’ embraces Adolf Hitler’s view that Jews con­cocted World War I as part of a scheme to stab Ger­many in the back — a myth the Nazis used to jus­tify the Holocaust.

He also wrote an inter­net post­ing com­plain­ing that Obama’s birth cer­tifi­cate and other doc­u­ments have not been made public.

In 2003, he claimed to have con­ducted an inves­ti­ga­tion into the eth­nic and reli­gious back­ground of Tommy Franks, the CENTCOM com­man­der at the time, after some US troops were placed under British com­mand in Iraq. . . .”

5b. Van Brunn was linked to for­mer Rea­gan White House aide Todd Blod­gett. In this con­text, it is impor­tant to recall that the Rea­gan admin­is­tra­tion per­son­nel were selected by Otto von Bolschwing pro­tege Helene Von Damm.

” . . . Todd Blod­gett, a for­mer White House aide to Pres­i­dent Ronald Rea­gan who later became affil­i­ated with extrem­ist groups, said he spent a lot of time with Von Brunn in the 1990s and early 2000s.
Von Brunn is obsessed with Jew­ish peo­ple, Blod­gett told the Post. He had equal con­tempt for both Jews and blacks, but if he had to pick one group to wipe out, he’d always say it would be Jews.
Von Brunn went so far as to say he fought on the wrong side of World War II, accord­ing to Blod­gett.
You’d get the impres­sion that he was intel­li­gent and a bit off, said Blod­gett, who worked as a paid FBI infor­mant on white suprema­cist groups. . . .”

5c. Blod­gett man­aged the Nazi music label Resis­tance Records for the Lib­erty Lobby. The label was then acquired by the National Alliance and its leader William Pierce.

5d. Again not­ing the legacy of the Helene Von Damm/Otto von Bolschwing axis within the GOP, the pro­gram high­lights the fact that Amer­i­can neo-Nazi Bob Whitaker held a sen­si­tive posi­tion within the Rea­gan White House. Avail­able evi­dence sug­gests very strongly that Van Damm served as a func­tionary of the Under­ground Reich. Notice the posi­tion of National Alliance asso­ciate Bob Whitaker within the Rea­gan admin­is­tra­tion: ” . . . So you’re a Rea­gan admin­is­tra­tion appointee — what’s the story behind that?

BW: I was Spe­cial Assis­tant to the Direc­tor of the Office of Per­son­nel Man­age­ment, in charge of secu­rity clear­ances, staffing, and that sort of thing.

KAS: Why is some­one with such excel­lent estab­lish­ment cre­den­tials defend­ing the White race, as you do in your work, with­out apol­ogy or regret? Isn’t that some­thing that sim­ply ‘isn’t done’ these days by any­one who wants to retain his posi­tion in pri­vate or pub­lic life?

BW: Well, I did it. And they cleared me at the high­est pos­si­ble lev­els, so if you do it right, you can do it. And I’m good at it. . . .”

6. For­mer KKK leader David Duke has relo­cated to Aus­tria, allegedly to pur­sue a career as a naturalist–specifically a bird-watcher.

“David E Duke, who was once a KKK Grand Wiz­ard, runs a busi­ness sell­ing pho­tographs of rare birds and other wildlife in a vil­lage near Salzburg. The dis­cov­ery has out­raged his neigh­bours in Aus­tria which has strug­gled to shake off the scourge of a new wave of far right politi­cians. Mr Duke, who has pre­vi­ously denied Adolf Hitler used gas cham­bers in the holo­caust, has rented a house by the Zeller lake near the city.

Local Green Party politi­cian Karl Oellinger said Mr Duke roamed the Aus­trian Alps tak­ing snaps of birds and wildlife and sell­ing them on the inter­net. ‘He’s reg­is­tered as liv­ing in Salzburg and although I can’t check offi­cial files I have it on good infor­ma­tion he has lived there for four or five years,’ he said. ‘The Aus­trian police have known he’s been here all along. Appar­ently he can live here unchal­lenged as he trav­els to other coun­tries to help the far-right movement.’

Mr Duke was recently deported from the neigh­bour­ing Czech Repub­lic after pro­mot­ing one of his books in Prague. But Gov­ern­ment offi­cials have said he is free to stay in Aus­tria as long as he does not break any local laws. Alexan­der Marakovits, Inte­rior Min­is­ter spokesman, said: ‘As a US cit­i­zen he can, as a tourist, stay three months at a time with­out a visa. And cur­rently there is no evi­dence of crim­i­nal acts.’

Mr Duke said he lived a quiet life in Aus­tria: ‘I’m not in Aus­tria for any polit­i­cal activ­i­ties. I just come to Aus­tria to relax — the moun­tains are beau­ti­ful. The Aus­trian Alps are just beau­ti­ful. There’s beauty all over the world.’ . . .”

7. Per­haps Duke will even­tu­ally net­work with Patrik Brinkmann, a Swedish neo-Nazi who recently relo­cated to Berlin.

“Ger­man intel­li­gence agents view Patrik Brinkmann as a lead­ing fig­ure among right-wing extrem­ists around the world. He founded the Con­ti­nent Europe Foun­da­tion in 2004 in Swe­den. The aim of the Con­ti­nent Europe Foun­da­tion leader Patrik Brinkmann is to move to Berlin by 2010 at the lat­est and cre­ate a Europe-wide Inter­na­tionale of nation­al­ists in coop­er­a­tion with national organ­i­sa­tions from all Euro­pean peo­ple,” the group said in a statement.

Andreas Gram, a Chris­t­ian Demo­c­ra­tic mem­ber of the Berlin state leg­is­la­ture, on Thurs­day called the lat­est devel­op­ments in the far-right scene “wor­ry­ing” and demanded more infor­ma­tion from the domes­tic intel­li­gence ser­vice on the mat­ter. Fed­eral and state author­i­ties keep­ing tabs on the neo-Nazi scene con­sider Brinkmann and his organ­i­sa­tion to be part of a “new right” that oper­ates internationally. . . .”

8. Inves­ti­gat­ing other aspects of the Euro­pean neo-Nazi and neo-fascist scene, we high­light the dis­missal of NPD leader Udo Voigt from a Ger­man mil­i­tary asso­ci­a­tion. The NPD is the lead­ing Ger­man neo-Nazi party.

“Leader of the neo-Nazi NPD party Udo Voigt has been kicked off the DBwV Ger­man Mil­i­tary Asso­ci­a­tion after being sen­tenced to incite­ment of hatred and slan­der in a racial dis­crim­i­na­tion trial last month, broad­caster RBB reported on Wednes­day. The DBwV’s lead­er­ship decided unan­i­mously to exclude Voigt from the organ­i­sa­tion due to the April 24 ver­dict, Lieu­tenant Colonel Ulrich Kirsch told RBB.

Voigt, a cap­tain in the Bun­deswehr reserves, belonged to the asso­ci­a­tion for some 30 years, but now faces dis­ci­pli­nary action in a mil­i­tary court. If he loses his mil­i­tary sta­tus in these pro­ceed­ings, he also faces being barred from the mil­i­tary reserve asso­ci­a­tion too, Kirsch said.

Voigt and two other NPD lead­ers were found guilty of offend­ing Ger­man national foot­baller Patrick Owom­oyela — who was born in Ger­many to a Niger­ian father and a Ger­man mother — in a World Cup pam­phlet printed in 2006. The cover of the plan­ner showed a Ger­man foot­ball uni­form with the cap­tion, ‘White. Not just a jersey-colour! For a truly national team!’”

9. Ger­many has been beset by a new brand of neo-fascist. Dubbed “anar­chist” neo-Nazis by the estimable Der Spiegel, this brand of neo-fascist imi­tates the behav­ior of, and appar­ently works with, the “Black Bloc.” This type of alliance has been cov­ered before, specif­i­cally in FTR #397. Note that, as is the case with “populist/fascists” in the U.S., such as some of the fas­cist tax pro­test­ers, there is a grow­ing trend of fas­cist ele­ments suc­cess­fully net­work­ing with left­ists. (Mis­cel­la­neous Archive Shows 19 and 21 doc­u­ment this trend, as well as grow­ing liaisons between fas­cist ele­ments and Third World move­ments, includ­ing Islamists.)

“New fig­ures from Germany’s domes­tic intel­li­gence agency show that the num­ber of far-right crimes in Ger­many increased by 16 per­cent in 2008. Offi­cials warn of the rise of Black Bloc-style ‘anar­chist’ neo-Nazis who actively seek vio­lence at demon­stra­tions. Author­i­ties in Ger­many have warned of a wor­ry­ing new ten­dency within the far-right scene — the rise of vio­lent ‘anar­chist’ neo-Nazis.

Heinz Fromm, the pres­i­dent of Germany’s domes­tic intel­li­gence agency, the Office for the Pro­tec­tion of the Con­sti­tu­tion, warned Tues­day of a ‘new phe­nom­e­non’ within the far-right scene. Pre­sent­ing the agency’s 2008 report in Berlin, he said that over the last two years a scene had emerged of ‘anar­chist’ neo-Nazis who dress sim­i­larly to the so-called Black Bloc of far-left anar­chists and who delib­er­ately seek vio­lence at demon­stra­tions. He put the num­ber of so-called ‘right-wing anar­chists’ at between 400 and 500 peo­ple. . . Schäu­ble and Fromm also warned of the threat of Islamist ter­ror­ism in Ger­many. Although there has not been a suc­cess­ful Islamist ter­ror attack in Ger­many to date, that was no rea­son for com­pla­cency, they said.

‘We are still in the cross-hairs of vio­lent Islamists,’ Schäu­ble warned, say­ing that the Ger­man military’s mis­sion in Afghanistan is ‘a thorn in the side’ of Islamists. There are ‘sig­nif­i­cant’ num­bers of poten­tial Islamist extrem­ists in Ger­many, Schäu­ble said, includ­ing con­verts to Islam. Many Islamists have trav­eled from Ger­many to Pak­istan to attend al-Qaida train­ing camps and there have been mes­sages from ter­ror­ist groups clearly tar­get­ing Ger­many in recent months. 10. Tal­iban forces in Afghanistan have demon­strated oper­a­tional capa­bil­i­ties indi­cat­ing sur­pris­ingly good intel­li­gence about Bun­deswehr activ­i­ties in that coun­try. With the grow­ing Islamist con­tin­gent in Ger­many deploy­ing fight­ers to Afghanistan, as well as a doc­u­mented link between Islamists and neo-Nazis, one won­ders about the pos­si­bil­ity of an inter­nal intel­li­gence leak in the Ger­man national secu­rity estab­lish­ment. As noted above in the arti­cle about Udo Voigt, there is a neo-Nazi pres­ence in the Ger­man mil­i­tary milieu. It is also dis­tinctly pos­si­ble that the leaks are within the deeply alien­ated Afghan pop­u­la­tion, who are increas­ingly hos­tile to the NATO and allied presence.

A recent attempt on the life of Boli­vian pres­i­dent Evo Morales fea­tured par­tic­i­pa­tion by an Irish neo-Nazi who asso­ci­ated with cen­tral Euro­pean neo-fascist groups that, in turn, may well have evolved from orga­ni­za­tions that were allies of the Third Reich. Note that both the Ruman­ian Iron Guard and the Hun­gar­ian Arrow-Cross orga­ni­za­tions were allied with the Nazis, in addi­tion to jump­ing to the Gehlen spy orga­ni­za­tion, CIA and GOP eth­nic her­itage organization.

“The Boli­vian author­i­ties have claimed that Michael Dwyer, the Tip­per­ary man shot dead by police two weeks ago, was heav­ily involved in neo-Nazi ter­ror group Szek­ler Legion. Last week the Boli­vian gov­ern­ment released pic­tures of Mr Dwyer and other mem­bers of the group pos­ing for pho­tographs sur­rounded by guns. The group is also sus­pected of plant­ing a bomb at the home of a Catholic car­di­nal in Bolivia the day before he and two Hun­gar­ian ter­ror­ists were shot dead.

The same ter­ror group, which the Boli­vians say Mr Dwyer (24) joined last Octo­ber, was sus­pected of car­ry­ing out a series of attacks on the homes of Boli­vian cab­i­net min­is­ters, civil ser­vants and politi­cians since 2006 when its leader Eduardo Rozsa-Flores sneaked into the country.

One of Rozsa-Flores’ clos­est asso­ciates, also a 32-year-old Hun­gar­ian, is liv­ing in Ire­land and met Michael Dwyer when they worked together for the secu­rity firm I-RMS dur­ing its con­tract with Shell. I-RMS was mak­ing no com­ment on the affair but sources in the secu­rity indus­try said the Hun­gar­ian they employed had proper cre­den­tials and has no known crim­i­nal record in Hun­gary or else­where. On Fri­day the Boli­vian gov­ern­ment released pic­tures taken from cam­eras found in the rooms in the four-star hotel where five mem­ber of the gang were stay­ing. The pic­tures include sev­eral of Dwyer hold­ing guns and rifles.

The 32-year-old Hun­gar­ian ex-soldier trav­elled to Bolivia with Dwyer on Octo­ber 20 along with two other Hun­gar­i­ans. While Dwyer stayed on the three Hun­gar­i­ans returned, two to Hun­gary and the 32-year-old ex-soldier to Cavan. It is believed he and a num­ber of other men of east Euro­pean nation­al­ity attended Dwyer’s funeral in Tip­per­ary on Thurs­day but did not speak to any mourners.

Despite repeated claims that Mr Dwyer was an inno­cent party and had been asso­ci­ated with “adven­tur­ers”, pho­tographs released by the Boli­vian author­i­ties last week show he was heav­ily armed and close with the ter­ror­ist ring-leader Rozsa-Flores, a man who has been impli­cated in eth­nic cleans­ing in for­mer Yugoslavia and who, at his own admis­sion, was actively seek­ing the over­throw of left-wing Boli­vian pres­i­dent Evo Morales.

He is also believed to have been an active mem­ber of Szek­ler Legion, led by Rozsa-Flores, until he was shot dead in Santa Cruz. In one of the pic­tures appar­ently taken on New Year’s Day, Dwyer and Rosza-Flores are sit­ting at a table cov­ered with firearms and ammu­ni­tion smil­ing to the camera.

Dwyer also he had a Nazi SS insignia tat­tooed on his arm. The tat­too was dis­guised in an elab­o­rate, larger design but is clearly vis­i­ble on his arm. He joked about it with asso­ciates on his Face­book page. Gar­dai are now inves­ti­gat­ing the activ­i­ties of the neo-fascist Hun­gar­i­ans and Roma­ni­ans who have come to the Repub­lic in recent years. . . .”

Another mem­ber of the inter­na­tional fas­cist scene who will not be seen any­more is the late Roy Frankhouser, Jr. A Penn­syl­va­nia Klan leader, Frankhouser was allegedly a U.S. intel­li­gence con­tract agent, either CIA or National Secu­rity Coun­cil. As dis­cussed in AFA #13, it was at the home of Frankhouser that Amer­i­can Nazi Party mem­ber and Lee Har­vey Oswald asso­ciate Daniel Bur­ros com­mit­ted his three-bullet “suicide.”

“The self-proclaimed head of the Ku Klux Klan in Penn­syl­va­nia died Fri­day in Spruce Manor Nurs­ing Home, West Read­ing, with no known sur­vivors. Roy E. Frankhouser Jr., 69, who had oper­ated the Moun­tain Church of Jesus Christ in the 100 block of South Fourth Street, which dou­bled as the local KKK head­quar­ters, had resided in Spruce Manor since Novem­ber 2006. . . .”
