Lee Harvey Oswald

Reinhard Gehlen: Nazi head of postwar German intelligence

Introduction: (This material is excerpted from AFA #1, recorded in April of 1984.) This is the first of two broadcasts detailing the historical background of the political forces in the vanguard of the Ukrainian opposition that ousted Viktor Yanukovych in the Ukraine. This broadcast highlights some operations of the OUN/B, a Ukrainian fascist organization allied with the German general staff in World War II. Having staffed the 14th Waffen SS (Galician) Division and the Einsatzgruppen (mobile execution squads) in the Ukraine, the OUN/B was a pivotal element in the postwar Gehlen spy outfit in its CIA and BND incarnations, the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations and the GOP ethnic outreach organization.

As World War II drew to a close, the Third Reich formed guerilla warfare units, which continued the combat behind the lines of the advancing Red Army. The OUN/B was a pivotal element of that guerilla cadre. Continuing their warfare until the early 1950’s, the OUN/B’s activities were supported by the CIA and its subsidiary element the OPC (Office of Policy Coordination) under Frank Wisner. In effect, the OUN/B simply switched uniforms from the Third Reich to the CIA.

Wisner deliberately misrepresented the activities of the OUN/B, indicating that they were not really a Nazi organization and would be of great use in fighting the U.S.S.R.

(The sources drawn upon in side 1 are: Gehlen, Spy of the Century by E.H. Cookridge, The General Was a Spy by Heinz Hohne and Hermann Zolling and The Belarus Secret by John Loftus. Note that this program was recorded well before the internet period.)

The second side of the program details the assassination of OUN/B leader Stephan Bandera. Blamed on the KGB, the killing was–in all likelihood–performed by BND (German foreign intelligence and the successor to the Reinhard Gehlen “org”) or other Underground Reich-connected elements.

Much of the broadcast centers on disinformation (disseminated by W.A.C.C.FL.-related elements. ) pointing to Lee Harvey Oswald as a KGB-trained assassin.

Attempting to pin the assassination on the Soviets and/or Cubans, these elements spurred many liberals to endorse the “Oswald as lone-nut” hypothesis. They were afraid that the assassination could lead to nuclear war, if the perception gained traction that Oswald was a communist. A central element in this disinformation ploy was an attempt to connect the JFK assassination to the death of Stephan Bandera, allegedly performed by an KGB assassin named Bogdan Stashynsky.

Murdered on the same day that Lee Harvey Oswald “defected” to the Soviet Union, Bandera’s killing was linked to Oswald’s alleged killing of JFK by elements associated with the W.A.C.C.F.L. (the World Anti-Communist Congress for Freedom and Liberation–the forerunner of the World Anti-Communist League.)

W.A.C.C.F.L. elements disseminated the lie that Oswald was trained at the same facility as Stashynsky, and that the JFK hit was part of a Soviet program of assassination of Western political leaders. It should be noted that WACL-related elements also figured prominently in the “handling” of Oswald in New Orleans, Dallas and (possibly) the Soviet Union.

Those W.A.C.C.F.L. elements were closely associated with the OUN/B and the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations, a consortium of Eastern European fascist groups inextricably linked with the Gehlen organization, the BND, the CIA and the Underground Reich.

The information in this side is from The Dallas Conspiracy, an unpublished manuscript by Peter Dale Scott. The audio is excerpted from AFA #15, recorded in March of 1986.

Program Highlights Include: The possession by Stashynsky of half of a broken key to Bandera’s apartment (in which he was slain), the other half of which was still in the door of the apartment two years after the killing; the role of W.A.C.C.F.L. spokesperson Salvador Diaz Verson in disseminating the Oswald/Stashynsky/KGB canard; Charles Willoughby’s International Committee for the Defense of Christian Culture, an international fascist intelligence network uniting Third Reich veterans with members of Texas’ Hunt family; the Hunt family-sponsored American Volunteer Group (formed to assassinate American political figures); the American Volunteer Group’s weapon of choice–a gas gun, develped in Germany, that fired cyanide spray (the same type of weapon apparently used to kill Bandera);

  1. @Dave
    Wow thirty years ago you were talking about Nazi-related elements from the 1940s and 1950s in the Ukraine that have had influence since World War II and in 2014 those elements are making major headlines in geopolitical news,even though their nature is not being acknowledged by the our government. Your effort, skill and endurance have been top notch, to understate your record. Thanks

  2. If you’re still around, my friend, since I know you’re getting up in years, your work of 30 years just confirms the geopolitical roots in our civilization’s history and what is happening today. The fact is that the Nazis were not really defeated, but simply went underground. I have argued with many colleagues and friends on this topic. They quickly dismiss the idea. And now we have Ukraine. Thank you for your years of real journalism.
