In a post post, we note the profound relationship between the prestigious “progressive” literary periodical The Paris Review and the CIA. The editor of the Paris Review was the late George Plimpton, who was at Robert F. Kennedy’s side on the evening of his assassination. We are told that he disarmed the attacker, presumably the patsy for the killing, Sirhan Sirhan.
Long predicted in these quarters, the destabilization of the Obama administration is in full swing. With the GOP charging that the Obama administration was covering-up warnings about terrorism in Libya, it now emerges that it was now-acting CIA director Michael J. Morell who deleted the references, in opposition to the now-deposed David Petraeus.
Like Count Dracula, Gerald Posner keeps coming back. Having led the media charges to discredit Warren Commission critics, critics of the official version of Martin Luther King’s assassination and Ladislas Farago’s research on Martin Bormann’s presence in Latin America, Posner is now defending Afghan president Karzai’s brother against credible charges that he has been on the CIA’s payroll, while participatring significantly in the Afghan heroin trade.
The Washington circus is in full swing! The IRS was headed by a Bush appointee during the time period in which the scrutiny of the Tea Party was taking place! GOP administrations, including that of George W. Bush, have a proven track record of engaging in this kind of activity.
Mr. Emory’s political odyssey began with investigation of the assassination of President Kennedy. We note the passing of two people who link to the milieu surrounding the investigation. Gaeton Fonzi was a dogged investigator for the House Select Committee on Assassinations. One of many crooked associates of LBJ, Billie Sol Estes was the focal point of some very “interesting” investigations himself.
In past posts, we’ve analyzed the “austerity” being imposed by Germany on the poorer countries of Europe against the background of the theories of Prussian military theoretician Carl von Clausewitz. A recent op-ed piece in the New York Times illustrates this analysis very clearly.
We’ve noted the links between organized crime and the NFL in the past, highlighting the milieu of the San Francisco 49ers. It develops that much of the 49ers recent success was (allegedly) due to their use of sports software diagnostics developed by German software maker SAP and employed by the team’s chief operating officer Paraag Marathe. One can but wonder if the consummately corrupt world of the NFL will be used to enhance revenues for SAP (and who knows who, or what, else?)
In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, we’ve highlighted the unraveling of the “two lone nuts” theory of that tragic event. In this context, we note that younger brother Dzokhar Tsarnaev’s high school mentor has a background in the CIA and also teaches Islamic studies at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, which Dzokhar attended.
Two investigations may well dovetail. We’ve covered the 9/11 attacks for years, beginning with analysis well before the events themselves. We note, also, our recent posts about the intelligence-linked National Socialist Union neo-Nazi group in Germany. Germany Watch has presented a working hypothesis that NSU’s murders were covering-up operational elements in the attacks.
Recently, Aryan prison syndicates have been in the news. It appears that their number, sophistication, autonomy and lethal capabilities are far greater than most suspect. With the “lock-em-up and throw away the key” mentality twinning with the burgeoning for-profit prison enterprises, we may well see a storm breaking loose on the United States, as austerity pressures result in more of them being released without any significant rehabilitation.
