Democrat Tells the Truth about the GOP, then Recants

[1]

Russ Bellant's Book about the GOP and the Nazis

COMMENT: A telling comment was placed on the record by John Burton and then retracted–a substantive indication of just how debased our political culture has become.

Burton quite appropriately scored the GOP for being purveyors of the big lie, like Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. Not only was he correct about the dimensions of the mendacity disseminated by the GOP, but the Republican Party itself is inextricably linked with the Underground Reich [2].

Under the verbal assault directed at him by the GOP, Burton recanted and apologized.

Past a point, truth-telling seems to elude the Democrats, who might well have scored points with the American people had they brought this fact to light. Even though the GOP “ethnics” and their links to the Nazis emerged into the public spotlight years ago, the Nazi wing of the Republicans’ has never been used to highlight the raw, fascistic brutality they have long manifested.

In addition to the Republicans’ ethnic outreach organization [3]–literally a Nazi wing of the GOP with roots firmly anchored in the Third Reich, the Reagan administration’s personnel [4]were selected by Helene Von Damm, a protege of Otto von Bolschwing, Adolf Eichmann’s superior for a time.

“John Burton Apologizes for Comparing Republicans to Nazi Goebbels” by Morgan Little; Los Angeles Times; 9/3/2012. [5]

EXCERPT: John Burton, the chairman of the California Democratic Party, has apologized for comparing Republicans to Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels, a comment that quickly sparked outcry from the GOP.

“If Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, or the Republicans are insulted by my describing their campaign tactic as the big lie — I most humbly apologize to them or anyone who might have been offended by that comment,” John Burton said in a statement.

Burton, who let loose against Republicans in an interview with KCBS and the San Francisco Chronicle, expressed his contempt for the party’s recent rhetoric Monday morning.

“They lie and they don’t care if people think they lie. As long as you lie, Joseph Goebbels, the big lie, you keep repeating it, you know,” he said.
Burton made a point of noting that he never used the word “Nazi”; however, he did invoke the Nazi minister of propaganda twice.
“That was Goebbels, a big lie, they said they don’t care about facts,” he said. “They’re going to lie so, I mean, that’s not pejorative to them. They probably wear it as a compliment.” . . . .
