Martin Bormann’s [Alleged] Relative Cheryl Bormann Defending a Guantanamo Terror Suspect

Cheryl Bormann, alleged relative of Martin Bormann (photo credit, debbieschlussel.com)

COMMENT: A recent allegation, by conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel epitomizes the reason we oppose ideologized journalism and political science. Discussing the defense counsel for accused 9/11 terrorist Walid bin Attash, a Yemeni national accused of researching flight simulators to facilitate the 9/11/attacks, Ms. Schlussel reveals that his defense counsel is one Cheryl Bormann, who is alleged to be a relative of Reichsleiter Martin Bormann!

The latter was, of course, the power behind the throne for Adolf Hitler and the director of the postwar Bormann capital network, the economic component of a Third Reich gone underground.

It is impossible in the context of this post to encapsulate the Bormann network and its significance. Suffice it to say that it is impossible to fully appreciate the material on this website without an understanding of the Bormann organization, which can be obtained through a reading of Martin  Bormann: Nazi in Exile, by Paul Manning.

Listeners interested in pursuing information about Third Reich alumni and the 9/11 attacks should examine FTR #456, among other programs.

NB: We use the  term “alleged” in connection with Ms. Bormann’s heritage, not to cast aspersions on Ms. Schussel’s research out of hand, but rather to maintain awareness of one of the Bormann network’s primary gambits–the seeding of deliberate disinformation in a story to discredit reportage on the group’s activities.

In FTR #134, we examined the Bormann group’s purposeful discrediting of Ladislas Farago, who wrote of Bormann’s postwar activities. Bormann security chief Heinrich Mueller’s discrediting of Farago was supplemented by Gerald Posner, a leading disinformation specialist with regard to this country’s political assassinations.

In Ladislas Farago’s Aftermath, the author cites Haj Amin el-Husseini, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and a general in the Waffen SS, as having aided Bormann’s escape.  The political and historical milieu of the Grand Mufti is closely linked to the al-Taqwa milieu, deeply involved with the events of 9/11.

From this vantage point, Ms. Schussel’s allegation can be neither confirmed nor disproved. This is the first we’ve heard of this claim.

Schussel may be in possession of a journalistic gem, and she may alternately have fallen victim to Bormann group “badjacketting.” We might note that Ms. Bormann may have indeed have made the claim of relationship to the Reichsleiter, in order to express Nazi sympathies and puff up her own situation.

“EXCLUSIVE: Gitmo Terrorist Lawyer Cheryl Bormann Bragged about Nazi Relative Martin Bormann” by Debbie Schlussel; debbieschlussel.com; 5/9/2012.

EXCERPT: DebbieSchlussel.com has learned that Gitmo terrorist lawyer, Cheryl T. Bormann, bragged to colleagues that she is related to the late top Nazi official, Martin Bormann. Bormann was Adolf Hitler’s private secretary, head of the Nazi Party Chancellery, and a Reich Leader. He named his first-born son after Hitler, who was his son’s godfather. (Check out the many pics of Bormann with his buddy Adolf.) And, sources say, that Cheryl Bormann wasn’t exactly embarrassed by and didn’t condemn the behavior of her prominent Nazi relative. In fact, the sources say they were shocked when Bormann rather indifferently noted she was related to him and seemed to be proud of the association. She told acquaintances that her uncle, who lived on an Illinois farm, was questioned by U.S. intelligence officials during World War II about whether or not he had contact with Martin Bormann. When he told them he did not, they left him alone.

On Monday, I told you about Bormann, the lawyer for Walid bin Attash, on trial at Guantanamo Bay. As I told you, Bormann wore a hijab, the Islamic veil, as well as an abaya, the Islamic cape for women. She also lectured other women in the courtroom that they, too, should wear such Islamic dress out of respect for the Islamic terrorists, including her client, who are responsible for the mass murder of 3,000 Americans on 9/11. . . .

Martin Bormann

COMMENT: For those who might find Ms. Schlussel’s research difficult to swallow, check out a small element of Paul Manning’s research on the Bormann organization, excerpted from the FBI’s file on Cheryl Bormann’s apparent relative Martin.

EXCERPT: . . . The file revealed that he [Martin Bormann] had been banking under his own name from his office in Germany in Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires since 1941; that he held one joint account with the Argentinian dictator Juan Peron, and on August 4, 5 and 14, 1967, had written checks on demand accounts in first National City Bank (Overseas Division) of New York, The Chase Manhattan Bank, and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., all cleared through Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires. . . .

Martin Bormann: Nazi in Exile by Paul Manning; p. 205.

COMMENT: In our many visits with Daniel Hopsicker, we have examined the many Germans who worked with Mohamed Atta and Rudi Deckers in the Huffman Aviation milieu in Venice Florida.

On the last page of Manning’s text, he cites an unnamed CIA pilot who “made the run to the Bormann ranch in Latin America.” Might that “run” have gone through Venice Florida, a hub of covert operations for decades? Might Wolfgang Bohringer and associates have been what comes up from the other end of that run?

EXCERPT: . . . A former CIA contract pilot, who once flew the run into Paraguay and Argentina to the Bormann ranch described the estate as remote, ‘worth your life unless you entered their air space with the right identification codes. . . .

This is somewhat off the main topic of the post—which is a truly galling turn of events—but I wonder if you might expand on your thoughts regarding the brief comment with which you prefaced this post, “epitomizes the reason we oppose ideologized journalism and political science”. The pitfalls of ideologized journalism are clear enough (for good or ill) but questioning the province of ‘political science’
(one of those none exact kinds), now that’s a bridge too far. I’m kidding of course, but I am genuinely interested in your thoughts on the subject. Empty and symbolic devisions of the ‘The Left’ and ‘The Right’ are obviously destructive. However, isn’t there a real difference between the conservative and liberal mind? What is political science if not the ongoing effort to explain this apparent dichotomy facing homo-politicus?

  3. @Dave: In Schlussel’s article, she links to a web page with pictures of Hilter:

If you look at the 4th picture, the legend says that the image features, among many, a certain Oberst Nicolaus von Below. Could it be could a relative of our dear “friend” Andreas von Bulow? The last name is not spelled the same but still. Maybe it’s the website that has it spelled wrong.

  5. we readers should not overlook getting the information you cover out to people who don’t have computers. just about every town has a local newspaper. full the letter with facts the reader could check, but above all, do not be boring and get to the point at once. call talk shows and be armed with facts people could check on. and don’t forget about writing letters to people who just might be interested if they really knew what was going on. if everyone just did what they could, it would add up to a whole lot.

  6. @David–

This is a sound suggestion. Do note my caveats about Schussel’s story and the disinformation methodology successfully employed by the Bormann network.

Karl Rove uses the same methodology, and that, too, should be remembered here.

Rove and Norquist are, as a matter of public record, deeply involved with the targets of the Operation Green Quest investigation.

  7. @Dave: Also, Dave, given that Operation Green Quest’s 10th anniversary was just 2 months ago next Monday, do you think you might be able to do a series of updates sometime.....or at least when you can get back on the radio?

@Dave E.: Yep. This is an interesting story, though, so I’m hoping you might be able to track down another source for this information. =)
