The Enigmatic Sven Olaf Kamphuis and the “Cyber-Wandervogel”

The inves­ti­ga­tion into a recent cyber­at­tack has high­lighted an eccen­tric, bril­liant pro­gram­mer named Sven Olaf Kam­phuis, a cit­i­zen of the Nether­lands. Kam­phuis emphat­i­cally denies that he was in any way involved in the attacks and no charges have been filed. What inter­ests us are some aspects of Mr. Kamphuis’s out­look that sug­gest the pos­si­bil­ity that he might be what we have termed “Cyber-Wandervogel.”

Co-author of a con­tro­ver­sial book on the Israel Lobby, John Mearsheimer has run pro­fes­sional inter­fer­ence for a wild-eyed anti-Semite and Hitler apol­o­gist named Gilad Atz­mon. Atzmon’s views would make Goebbels blush. In addi­tion to endors­ing Mearsheimer’s sup­port for Atz­mon, Stephen Walt has con­tributed to a pub­li­ca­tion openly affil­i­ated with Hamas and giv­ing access to medieval anti-Semites of Atzmon’s ilk.

An alliance of “Yock­eyite” or Third Posi­tion char­ac­ter has taken shape in Hun­gary. A city con­trolled by the Hun­gar­ian Job­bik Party and an Iran­ian city have announced a coop­er­a­tive agree­ment. Reca­pit­u­lat­ing Hungary’s fas­cist past to a con­sid­er­able extent, the Job­bik Party on its sur­face would seem to have lit­tle in com­mon with Iran, other than anti-Semitism.

Italy’s recent elec­tions saw the Five Stars Move­ment of come­dian Beppe Grillo win­ning a share of the vote that will enable it to play a key role in form­ing the next coali­tion gov­ern­ment. There are indi­ca­tions of the party’s sym­pa­thy for fas­cism and neo-fascism. Not sur­pris­ingly, Grillo appears to be anti-Semitic as well.

We recall the tsunami of praise, Hosan­nas and Hal­lelu­jahs gush­ing forth from the world’s media and polit­i­cal pun­ditry. Hail­ing the “Arab Spring” as the dawn­ing of a new enlight­en­ment in that part of the world, they missed the boat–fundamentally. We, on the other hand, were warn­ing that this phe­nom­e­non was a Nazi oper­a­tion, hav­ing been ini­ti­ated by pow­er­ful cor­po­rate forces in the sec­ond admin­is­tra­tion of George W. Bush, it had its trig­ger with the Wik­iLeaks milieu–itself a far-right, Nazi-linked entity, as we demon­strated in FTR’s 732 and #745. Before delv­ing into details, an excel­lent overview of recent events in Egypt was pro­vided in an English-language blog by a cit­i­zen of that tor­tured coun­try. Ger­man diplo­mats main­tained a cozy rela­tion­ship with the Black Sep­tem­ber ter­ror­ists respon­si­ble for the 1972 mas­sacre of Israeli ath­letes at the Munich Sum­mer Olympics. Express­ing sym­pa­thy for the Pales­tini­ans, they never made a seri­ous attempt at extra­dit­ing the ter­ror­ists behind the attack. A num­ber of con­tra­dic­tions are evi­dent in exam­in­ing the record of the events, includ­ing a dis­crep­ancy in the num­ber of ter­ror­ists actu­ally involved in the inci­dent, the Ger­man secu­rity forces’ lack of rifles at the air­port (they were plan­ning to snipe the ter­ror­ists at the air­port), and the Ger­mans’ refusal of coop­er­a­tion by Israeli intel­li­gence and secu­rity forces.

Apple Cor­po­ra­tion includes an “app” per­mit­ting ITunes users to down­load The Pro­to­cols of the Elders of Zion–the noto­ri­ous anti-Semitic forgery that was one of the pri­mary ide­o­log­i­cal influ­ences on Adolf Hitler. “The Pro­to­cols” has been mak­ing some­thing of a come­back, being pub­lished by Bavar­ian edu­ca­tors, in order to teach to high school students.


Germans Had Prior Warning about Olympics Massacre

Ger­man author­i­ties had a warn­ing three weeks before the Olympics mas­sacre of 1972. With secu­rity headed by an offi­cer of the BND, the final incar­na­tion of the Gehlen “Org” and with neo-Nazis assist­ing the Pales­tin­ian ter­ror­ists, this comes as no sur­prise. The BND Olympics secu­rity chief has also been accused of stag­ing provo­ca­tions and pro­vid­ing an alibi for a Nazi leader in the 1980 Okto­ber­fest bombing.
