One of the more grotesque aspects of this decades-long under­tak­ing has been watch­ing peo­ple hail the advance of fas­cism as some­thing “desir­able” and/or “demo­c­ra­tic.” Less than two years after the “Arab Spring” (“Mus­lim Broth­er­hood Spring” we call it) was hailed as a blos­som­ing of democ­racy in the Arab world, it is prov­ing to be the instal­la­tion of Islamic fas­cism (or “cor­po­ratism” as Mus­solini called his sys­tem) that we said it would be.

Numer­ous ele­ments have come into focus in con­nec­tion with the inves­ti­ga­tion of the Boston bomb­ing. They include a sub­sidiary of Dick Cheney’s Hal­libur­ton. In addi­tion, the mosque they attended and at which they may have been rad­i­cal­ized is part of the milieu shep­herded by Grover Norquist.

The news cycle in this coun­try is dom­i­nated by cov­er­age of the Boston bomb­ings. This is pre­dictable. So is the ten­dency toward sim­plis­tic and/or one-dimensional analy­sis. Gen­er­ally, we’re hear­ing: It was the “gov­ern­ment,” “home-grown domes­tic (i.e. right-wing, Aryan types) ter­ror­ists,” or “Islamic ter­ror­ists.” As this post indi­cates, the divi­sions among these are not nearly so simple.

The assas­si­na­tion of the head of the Col­orado Cor­rec­tions Depart­ment has raised ques­tions. One pos­si­ble motive might be Tom Clements’ recent denial of a peti­tion by Homaidan al-Turki, a Saudi national con­victed on sex­ual abuse charges and sus­pected of involve­ment in ter­ror­ism. Al-Turki enjoys the sup­port of the Saudi gov­ern­ment and pop­u­lace, as well as the State Department.

We recall the tsunami of praise, Hosan­nas and Hal­lelu­jahs gush­ing forth from the world’s media and polit­i­cal pun­ditry. Hail­ing the “Arab Spring” as the dawn­ing of a new enlight­en­ment in that part of the world, they missed the boat–fundamentally. We, on the other hand, were warn­ing that this phe­nom­e­non was a Nazi oper­a­tion, hav­ing been ini­ti­ated by pow­er­ful cor­po­rate forces in the sec­ond admin­is­tra­tion of George W. Bush, it had its trig­ger with the Wik­iLeaks milieu–itself a far-right, Nazi-linked entity, as we demon­strated in FTR’s 732 and #745. (In addi­tion to the doc­u­men­ta­tion in the orig­i­nal WikiLeaks/Arab Spring series, see the arti­cle excerpted below.) Before delv­ing into details, an excel­lent overview of recent events in Egypt was pro­vided in an English-language blog by a cit­i­zen of that tor­tured coun­try. Long able to escape legal ret­ri­bu­tion for his actions, Huff­man Avi­a­tion oper­a­tor Rudi Dekkers appears to have run out of luck. The Dutch/German pilot who ran the flight school through which 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta and his Ger­man and Aus­trian asso­ciates infil­trated the United States has been arrested in Hous­ton for drug traf­fick­ing. It remains to be seen what comes of this inves­ti­ga­tion, but the impli­ca­tions are poten­tially staggering.


German Intelligence and the 9/11 Conspirators

Ger­man intel­li­gence and law enforce­ment had the Ham­burg cell involved in the 9/11 attacks under sur­veil­lance by August of 1998 and did noth­ing. The offi­cer in charge of law enforce­ment activ­i­ties for Ham­burg at the time has report­edly become head of the BND. Cou­pled with Atta’s Ger­man and Aus­trian asso­ciates in Florida, his spon­sor­ship by the Carl Duis­berg Gesellschaft and Germany’s sus­pi­cious manip­u­la­tion of “Curve­ball,” seri­ous ques­tions must be asked about the role of Ger­many and its intel­li­gence ser­vices with regard to 9/11 and the Iraq war.
