COMMENT: It appears that an Islamist coup attempt in Bangladesh has been foiled (at least for the time being).
Note that the Jamaat-e-Islami (a Mus­lim  Broth­er­hood off­shoot) was a major ele­ment in the coup attempt. If such an future attempt  were to be suc­cess­ful, it would flank India with hos­tile Mus­lim nations–a devel­op­ment that would move the [...]

COMMENT:We’ve spent much time in these pro­grams on the sub­ject of Saudi Ara­bia. A recent story high­lighted the medieval, benighted  nature of this “ally.” (Saudi Ara­bia has also invested heav­ily in U.S. com­mer­cial and edu­ca­tional infra­struc­ture.)
It seems the Saudi secu­rity forces are tak­ing a highly-touted course in how to negate “black magic” (no kid­ding!).
