FTR #897 Fara Mansoor on the “Deep October Surprise,” Part 2

This broad­cast is the sec­ond of sev­er­al pro­grams review­ing and high­light­ing mate­r­i­al first pre­sent­ed in ear­ly 1993, fea­tur­ing the land­mark research of Fara Man­soor, a hero­ic, long­time mem­ber of the Iran­ian resis­tance. Usu­al­ly, the term “Octo­ber Sur­prise” refers to an allege deal between the Reagan/Bush cam­paign and the Khome­i­ni regime in Iran to with­hold the U.S. hostages tak­en from the Amer­i­can Embassy until after Jim­my Carter’s humil­i­a­tion and con­se­quent elec­tion defeat were assured. Fara’s research goes far­ther and deep­er, sug­gest­ing that the CIA learned of the Shah’s can­cer in 1974 (from for­mer CIA direc­tor Richard Helms), with­held the infor­ma­tion from Jim­my Carter, installed Khome­ini’s Islam­ic fun­da­men­tal­ists as an anti-com­mu­nist bul­wark on the Sovi­et Union’s South­ern flank and then micro-man­aged the hostage cri­sis to insure the ascen­sion of the Reagan/Bush/Casey forces. What has become known as the Iran-Con­tra Scan­dal was an out­growth of this dynam­ic. In this pro­gram we present analy­sis of the first phase(s) of the oper­a­tion, not­ing that for­mer CIA direc­tor Richard Helms learned of the Shah’s can­cer in 1975 from Gen­er­al Hos­sein Far­doust. With­hold­ing this infor­ma­tion from Pres­i­dent Carter, the CIA fed the admin­is­tra­tion dis­in­for­ma­tion assert­ing that the Shah’s reign well into the 1980’s was assured. Mean­while, the Agency was maneu­ver­ing to install Khome­i­ni as a bul­wark against the left, and, as we shall see, a vehi­cle to desta­bi­lize the Carter admin­is­tra­tion and guar­an­tee the vic­to­ry of the Reagan/Bush team in the 1980 elec­tions. That did­n’t just hap­pen. It turns out ‘main­stream’ white nation­al­ists set out to pop­u­lar­ize of accel­er­a­tionism over two decades ago, repub­lish­ing Siege and focus­ing atten­tion on fig­ures like O9A leader David Myatt and Hin­du-fas­cist Sav­i­t­ra Devi. And then, in 2003, Joshua Caleb Sut­ter, a young leader in the Aryan Nations, was sent to prison on charges relat­ed to a plot to attack abor­tion clin­ics and polit­i­cal oppo­nents. He emerged from prison a year lat­er as an under­cov­er FBI infor­mant who would spend the next two decades as the lead­ing pub­lish­er of accel­er­a­tionist Satan­ic Nazism. A form of Nazi Satanism that cel­e­brates rit­u­al­is­tic child abuse and has become inter­twine with some of the most sadis­tic and depraved cor­ners of the inter­net. Where chil­dren are lured into extrem­ists com­mu­ni­ties with gory and child pornog­ra­phy con­tent designed to desen­si­tize and then coerced into com­mit­ting acts of abuse and ter­ror them­selves. As Sut­ter once char­ac­ter­ized the “Tem­pel ov Blood” O9A off­shoot he runs, “this Tem­pel is in many ways a social pro­gram­ming exper­i­ment.” Nazi ter­ror­ism real­ly has some­how become more depraved than it already was.

At the same time, neo-Con­fed­er­ate Chris­t­ian Nation­al­ist move­ments deeply aligned with the pow­er­ful Coun­cil for Nation­al Pol­i­cy (CNP) haven’t just grown. They’ve been thriv­ing and increas­ing­ly their reach. One such neo-Con­fed­er­ate preach­ers, Doug Wil­son, co-authored a book in 1996 argu­ing the Con­fed­er­ate South was the bib­li­cal ide­al soci­ety that need­ed to be recre­at­ed. His co-author, Steven J. Wilkins, was a co-founder of the League of South (LOS). Both has prominet CNP mem­bers RJ Rush­doony and Gary North as close theo­crat­ic col­lab­o­ra­tors. Wilkins went on to exe­cute a LOS plot takeover church­es in the South US that were deemed to be ripe recruit­ment pools for their neo-Con­fed­er­ate ide­ol­o­gy. Wil­son spent the fol­low­ing decades build­ing an increas­ing­ly influ­en­tial pro-Con­fed­er­ate net­work of church­es that now includes cur­rent Sec­re­tary of Defense Pete Hegseth as a mem­ber. It turns out Wil­son has also been involved with the plan­ning behind Project 2025 and is now plan­ning on open­ing a new con­gre­ga­tion in Wash­ing­ton DC which will serve as a hub for his grow­ing reli­gious empire.

At the same time Chris­t­ian Iden­ti­ty white pow­er ter­ror has large­ly been sup­plant­ed by nihilis­tic accel­er­a­tionism in the online era (thanks, in part, to the decades-long efforts of a paid FBI infor­mant), orga­nized neo-Con­fed­er­ate Chris­t­ian Nation­al­ism has grown so pow­er­ful it is now play­ing a role in the CNP’s ongo­ing “Sec­ond Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion”. There’s blood in the water. With region­al banks poten­tial­ly look­ing at years of trou­ble ahead and inter­est rates well above the his­toric lows, dis­tress is per­me­at­ing the US com­mer­cial real estate (CRE) mar­kets. That’s been the CRE news, with the pri­vate equi­ty now pal­pa­bly excit­ed about all the dis­tressed real estate that’s bound to come on the mar­ket. A sup­ply and demand dis­lo­ca­tion that can turn blood in water into a gold laced sil­ver lin­ing for the enti­ties with cash on the side­lines. As we’ve seen, being the ‘cash on the side­lines’ oppor­tunis­ti­cal­ly wait­ing for things to fall apart or blow is a big part of the ‘Heads we win, tails you lose’ pri­vate equi­ty busi­ness mod­el. A busi­ness mod­el also root­ed in the fact that the fund man­agers charge high fees whether they’re invest­ments pan out or not. So we should­n’t be sur­prised to learn that one of the big invest­ment oppor­tu­ni­ties pri­vate equi­ty has been steer­ing bil­lions of dol­lars of pub­lic pen­sion mon­ey into in recent years is...*drumroll*...commercial real estate! With plans on shov­el­ing bil­lions more into the sec­tor going for­ward. JP Mor­gan is now pre­dict­ing these pen­sion funds are going to cre­ate a ‘floor’ in the CRE mar­kets. Yes, pri­vate equi­ty-led pen­sion funds are going to save the CRE mar­ket from com­plete col­lapse. At least that’s the plan. A plan that’s going to pay its pri­vate equi­ty man­agers hand­some­ly no mat­ter how it pans out. It’s all part of how Amer­i­can’s grow­ing retire­ment cri­sis is trans­lat­ing into pri­vate equi­ty’s grow­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty. The kind of cri­sis-dri­ven oppor­tu­ni­ty that pays hand­some­ly whether the under­ly­ing cri­sis grows or not.
