Why “Bio-Psy-Op?”: Federal Reserve Analysis Ties 1918 Flu Pandemic to Rise of Nazism

In our ongoing series about the Covid-19 outbreak and its multi-dimensional manifestations, we have termed it a “bio-psy-op.” An academic paper produced by a Federal Reserve economist posits the socio-political effects of the 1918 flu pandemic as a factor contributing to the rise of Nazism in Germany. Cited by numerous publications, including “The New York Times,” “Bloomberg News” and “Politico,” the study underscores some of our assertions concerning the fascist and extreme right-wing ramifications of the pandemic. ” . . . . The paper, published this month and authored by New York Fed economist Kristian Blickle, examined municipal spending levels and voter extremism in Germany from the time of the initial influenza outbreak until 1933, and shows that ‘areas which experienced a greater relative population decline’ due to the pandemic spent ‘less, per capita, on their inhabitants in the following decade.’ . . . The paper’s findings are likely due to ‘changes in societal preferences’ following the 1918 outbreak, Blickle argues — suggesting the influenza pandemic . . . may have ‘spurred resentment of foreigners among the survivors’ and driven voters to parties ‘whose platform matched such sentiments.’ The conclusions come amid fears that the current coronavirus pandemic will shake up international politics and spur extremism around the world. . . .”

Trump’s New Federal Reserve Appointee: Chairman of the National Endowment for Democracy

We have discussed the National Endowment for Democracy–a “kinder, gentler” covert action front–in past programs. ” . . . . the NED’s story speaks for itself: The brainchild of Reagan’s CIA director Bill Casey, the National Endowment for Democracy was set up as an intelligence cutout to support US geopolitical power and undermine unfriendly regimes. One of the NED co-founders, Allen Weinstein, explained its purpose to the Washington Post: ‘A lot of what we do today was done covertly 25 years ago by the CIA.’ . . . .” Trump’s latest nominee to the board of the Federal Reserve Bank, gold bug Dr. Judy Shelton (above, right), is the Chairman of the NED, making a prominent player in the covert action milieu a prominent player in setting monetary and economic policy, as well.

FTR#‘s 1297 and1298: The End and The Beginning, Parts Four and Five

These programs conclude a five-part series setting forth why Mr. Emory feels we are headed for “Ye Ol’ Last Roundup” and offering some insights into what he feels is the metaphysical nature of reality and why that offers some hope. His outlook is heavily influenced by Buddhism.

Artificial Intelligence plays a large role in the analysis Mr. Emory presents, including a terrifying development which will permit AI’s to read the human mind from afar!

The first program reviews the Third Reich and apartheid roots of the Schwab family and the Nazi intelligence connections of Henry Kissinger’s work at Harvard.

After noting that the Vietnam-era defoliant Agent Orange was part of an overlapping series of DARPA projects whose strategic rationale was “counter-insurgency,” Mr. Emory notes the Nazi/Paperclip origins of Agent Orange, as well as the probable role of DARPA in the development of SARS CoV‑2.

After review of Biden’s new “cancer moonshot” and the strong probability that is will serve as a front for the use of synthetic biology for the development of  biological weapons, Mr. Emory reviews the early manifestation of globalization that resulted in the rise of global fascism.

A paper written by a member of the New York Federal Reserve opines that the 1918 flu epidemic set the stage for the rise of Nazism in Germany. Was something like that intended with Covid-19?

Subsuming the theme of these programs, Mr. Emory recounts the words of Chief Sitting Bull at the Power River Council. Those words encapsulate his view of what this society has become.

After reviewing a fascinating scientific discussion about the “tone” that may very well have started the Big Bang origin of the universe, Mr. Emory highlights a book that has influenced him greatly–“The Physics of Immortality.” It may, perhaps, be comforting to some to believe that it is probable that, in the end, righteousness will prevail.

FTR#1205 The Narco-Fascism of Chiang Kai-shek and The Kuomintang, Part 12

Continuing our series on the regime of Chiang Kai-shek–all but beatified during the Cold War–we draw still more on a magnificent book–The Soong Dynasty by Sterling Seagrave. Although sadly out of print, the book is still available through used book services, and we emphatically encourage listeners to take advantage of those and obtain it.

Several listeners have said that they were able to obtain the book because it is still in print! I hope so! PLEASE buy it, read it, and tell others about it, either through conventional means and/or through social media. (Mr. Emory gets no money from said purchases of the book.)

We also draw on another, altogether remarkable work by Peggy and Sterling Seagrave–Gold Warriors.

The Rape of Nanking–the subject of Iris Chang’s best-selling, nonfiction book, saw the beginning of the Golden Lily operation.  The looting of China (as well as the rest of Asia) by Japan and the subsequent American fusing of the Japanese war loot into the clandestine U.S. economy is undoubtedly a major irritant to the Chinese.

The looting of China by Japan–and by extension the U.S.–manifests on top of the centuries’ old looting of that country by Britain and the rest of the European colonial powers, the U.S. as a whole, the Chiang Kai-shek/Green Gang alliance and the overlapping Soong clan.

Chinese insistence on access to technologies developed by firms establishing manufacturing concerns on their soil may be seen as an historical reaction to what the country was subjected to at the hands of the above interests.

In the passage below, note the intellectual and cultural plundering of China by Japan, as well as the looting of their economic wealth–a phenomenon of which the American occupation forces were aware and with which they ultimately colluded.

Looting of China was compounded by joint U.S. and Kuomintang secreting of gold from soon to be Communist-occupied China in the post-World War II period (overlapping the Chinese civil war.) This episode could be seen as an extension of Chiang’s looting of the gold of private investors from the Bank of China (with the active collaboration of the Green Gang) just before the Generalissimo decamped for Taiwan.

” . . . . As Chairman Mao’s forces advanced through China in 1948 . . . Britain and the U.S. dreaded the prospect that one of the world’s largest stocks of gold–worth $83-billion at current prices–would fall into communist hands. So it was decided to extract the gold reserves from China before the communists could seize them. The CIA provided the means for this bullion rescue mission . . . .”

Note that the joint U.S./Kuomintang looting of gold from postwar China was done with the collaboration of elements of CIA, as well as the Strategic Air Command.

The Federal Reserve Notes and Federal Reserve Bonds were to be given to Chinese financial interests holding the gold in order to convince them to part with the bullion.

” . . . . These two CAT [Civil Air Transport–a CIA airline later renamed Air America] B‑29s, loaded billions of dollars’ worth of FRNs and FRBs, were on their way to Malaysia on a roundabout route to Southwestern China by way of Thailand and Burma. . . .”

Note, also, that one of the aircraft in a U.S. flight that was downed in the Philippines by a typhoon was carrying uranium for possible use in a “dirty bomb” attack on China.

” . . . . The B‑50, which had recently been built by Boeing to carry nuclear weapons for the Strategic Air Command (SAC), had a cargo of 117 canisters of Uranium. At this time, Washington was seriously considering dropping “dirty bombs” on Red China and North Korea. . . .”

As noted above, Chiang Kai-shek and Mme. Chiang Kai-shek (nee Mae-ling Soong) were aware of the operation and profited from it: ” . . . . He [CAT and former Flying Tiger pilot Eric Shilling] gold us Generalissimo and Mme. Chiang Kai-shek were fully informed of the flights . . . . Shilling was invited to the presidential palace where Mme. Chiang praised him, telling hi: ‘I did not go to bed until i knew that you had landed safely. . . .”

One can but guess if Mme. Chiang’s concern for Shilling’s well being was grounded in the fact that she and Chiang benefited greatly from the FRNs that were involved in the operation: ” . . . . A CIA friend told me that these FRNs were all over the world, not only in the Philippines. He said Chiang Kai-shek’s family owned large quantities. . . .”

Next, we review the fact that T.L. Soong—T.V.’s younger brother: “ . . . . who had been in charge of Lend Lease during World II, and whose American roots were in New York City, became something of an enigma. Sources in Washington said T.L. worked as a secret consultant to the Treasury Department in the 1950’s, engaged in what they would not say. Treasury claims it has no record of a T.L. Soong whatever. . . .”

Was T.L. Soong’s Treasury consultancy executed in conjunction with the CAT gold extraction mission described above?

The program concludes with examination of the results of an investigation ordered by President Truman into the affairs of the Soong family and their kleptocratic associates in what became known as the “China Lobby.”

An FBI probe into the family’s doings (and, by extension, those of the Kuomintang) yielded a report that was still heavily redacted in 1983 when the Seagraves obtained a copy of it.

President Truman summed up the findings of the investigation into the Soongs, the Kungs and their associates: “ . . . . ‘They’re all thieves, every damn one of them. . . . They stole seven hundred and fifty million dollars out of the [$3.8] billion that we sent to Chiang. They stole it, and it’s invested in real estate down in Sao Paulo and some right here in New York. . . . And that’s the money that was used and is still being used for the so-called China Lobby.’ . . . .”

Truman’s gauging of the Soong family’s ill-gotten gains was underestimation: “ . . . . In May of 1949, a few months after May-ling’s visit [May-ling Soong, aka Mme. Chiang Kai-shek], Truman heard of allegations made by banking sources to members of Congress that the Soongs and Kungs actually had $2 billion salted away in Manhattan. . . .”

We note that even the FBI was dealt with in a less than candid fashion by some of the banks that held Soong and Kung family deposits: “ . . . . ‘It would appear,’ an FBI agent noted laconically, ‘that high bank officials had prepared a flat statement for issuance to the Bureau in this matter.’. . .”

Even Federal government agencies were also less than enthusiastic about cooperating with the FBI investigation: “ . . . . The FBI was reluctant to ask Treasury for a copy [of bureaucratic forms submitted by the Soong family] because it believed that senior Treasury officials were close to T.V. and might reveal the investigation to him. [Recall that his brother T.L. may well have been a consultant to the Treasury Department—D.E] . . .”

The FBI also ran across evidentiary tributaries that may well have run from the clandestine looting of Chinese gold reserves described in the second major element of this program. “ . . . . On the West Coast, other agents discovered the cold trail of a Chinese plot to fly huge quantities of gold from China to an out-of-the-way private airport in the Los Angeles suburb of Van Nuys. . . .”

Investigation of the digs of H.H. Kung’s family yielded some of the most sordid information. [H.H. was married to Ai-ling Soong, elder sister of Mme. Chiang Kai-shek and sister to the Soong brothers—T.V., T.L. and T.A.]. “ . . . . According to the newspapers, several Chinese servants in the summer had been brought from Hong Kong ostensibly to work in the Chinese Embassy found themselves virtual prisoners of the Kungs in Riverdale. [At that point in time, the Chinese Embassy would have been that of the Taiwan-based Kuomintang.] . . . . In desperation, they escaped together, but were captured and brought back. . . . the hapless servants were taught a lesson when they were hung from the ceiling and whipped. . .  H.H. Kung . . . did not deny any of his servants’ . . . charges. . . .”

FTR #1161 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 21: What the Hell Does Dave Emory Mean by Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse?

Beginning with discussion of rising distrust of China, the program notes the role in that rising distrust of the coronavirus. First detected in China, the available evidence chronicled in numerous programs points to the Covid-19 pandemic as a biological warfare false flag operation and provocation–part of the Full Court Press against China.

The bulk of the program consists of Mr. Emory reading articles from The New York Times published over the course of the lockdown in the U.S. Highlighting the stress experienced by various population groups and the behavioral and physiological symptoms stemming from that stress, the articles–covering a period from the spring through fall of 2020–document the manifestations of the “bio-psy-op apocalypse.”

The articles chronicle: Stress on marital relationships; duress on sexual behavior, with New York and Los Angeles (among other cities) advising people to masturbate, rather than engage in sexual encounters with others; psychological dislocation of children, who can’t play with others; psychological dislocation of athletic youths, who can’t compete in sports; workers who can’t interact at the office with their peers; stress on friendships; people losing their hair in clumps, because of stress; people grinding their teeth and cracking them; the effect of people wearing masks and limiting the ability of others to respond to facial stimuli–an innate and important element of human psycho-social behavior; cities experiencing soaring murder rates because of stress; the effect of lockdowns on street demonstrations pursuant to the deaths of George Floyd and Breanna Taylor; rising rates of domestic violence; rising consumption of alcohol; rising incidence of people feeling suicidal; rising drug abuse; people foregoing wearing masks and practicing social distancing because of what psychologists call “Covid Fatigue;” people flocking to contrarians opposing various public safety measures; people expressing support for political leaders because of feelings of insecurity.

Mr. Emory also opines that the pandemic may well have interdicted the projected “Blue Wave,” because people who might otherwise have endorsed a more altruistic political agenda instead were feeling frightened and–as a result–more needy and selfish.

Although Belarussians had put up with Alexander Lukashenko prior to the coronavirus: “Trapped inside their country by the coronavirus pandemic, many Belarusians began to chafe at the inhumanity in Mr. Lukashenko’s rule and language that had once been easy to ignore. . . .”

We conclude with a look at the past, which may reflect on the future.

An academic paper produced by a Federal Reserve economist posits the socio-political effects of the 1918 flu pandemic as a factor contributing to the rise of Nazism in Germany.

Cited by numerous publications, including The New York Times, Bloomberg News and Politico, the study underscores some of our assertions concerning the fascist and extreme right-wing ramifications of the pandemic.

This timely and very important study will be referenced in future discussion of the psychological, sociological and socio-economic aspects of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Kristian Blickle’s analysis underscores points we have made about the demographic, economic and psychological devastation the pandemic is having on the body politic.

“A new academic paper produced by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York concludes that deaths caused by the 1918 influenza pandemic “profoundly shaped German society” in subsequent years and contributed to the strengthening of the Nazi Party.

“The paper, published this month and authored by New York Fed economist Kristian Blickle, examined municipal spending levels and voter extremism in Germany from the time of the initial influenza outbreak until 1933, and shows that ‘areas which experienced a greater relative population decline’ due to the pandemic spent ‘less, per capita, on their inhabitants in the following decade.’ . . .

“. . . . The paper’s findings are likely due to ‘changes in societal preferences’ following the 1918 outbreak, Blickle argues — suggesting the influenza pandemic’s disproportionate toll on young people may have ‘spurred resentment of foreigners among the survivors’ and driven voters to parties ‘whose platform matched such sentiments.’ The conclusions come amid fears that the current coronavirus pandemic will shake up international politics and spur extremism around the world, as officials and public health experts look to previous outbreaks for guidance on how to navigate the months and years to come. . . .”

FTR #1129 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 5: The Magic Virus Theory, Part 2

Updating our ongoing series of programs concerning the Covid-19 outbreak, we begin with several articles analyzing the political, economic and psycho-social ramifications of the phenomenon.

We have termed the Covid-19 outbreak and its multi-dimensional manifestations, a “bio-psy-op.” Amplifying what is meant by that term:

1.–An academic paper produced by a Federal Reserve economist posits the socio-political effects of the 1918 flu pandemic as a factor contributing to the rise of Nazism in Germany. Cited by numerous publications, including The New York Times, Bloomberg News and Politico, the study underscores some of our assertions concerning the fascist and extreme right-wing ramifications of the pandemic. ” . . . . The paper, published this month and authored by New York Fed economist Kristian Blickle, examined municipal spending levels and voter extremism in Germany from the time of the initial influenza outbreak until 1933, and shows that ‘areas which experienced a greater relative population decline’ due to the pandemic spent ‘less, per capita, on their inhabitants in the following decade.’. . . The paper’s findings are likely due to ‘changes in societal preferences’ following the 1918 outbreak, Blickle argues — suggesting the influenza pandemic . . . . may have ‘spurred resentment of foreigners among the survivors’ and driven voters to parties ‘whose platform matched such sentiments.’ The conclusions come amid fears that the current coronavirus pandemic will shake up international politics and spur extremism around the world, as officials and public health experts look to previous outbreaks for guidance on how to navigate the months and years to come. . . .”

2.–The social dislocation caused by the Great Depression also drove German and world political sentiment to the right, providing additional momentum to global forces of fascism. Current U.S. economic data bring that to mind. “U.S. Unemployment Is Worst Since Depression;” by Nelson D. Schwartz and Ben Casselman; The New York Times; 5/9/2020; pp. A1-A13 [Western Edition.]

3.–UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres warns that the pandemic has strengthened ethno-nationalism, populism, bigotry and authoritarian rule. Reactionary sentiment driven by the pandemic has also spurred eugenic rationale globally. ” . . . . UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Friday the coronavirus pandemic keeps unleashing ‘a tsunami of hate and xenophobia, scapegoating and scare-mongering’ and appealed for ‘an all-out effort to end hate speech globally.’ Guterres said ‘anti-foreigner sentiment has surged online and in the streets, anti-Semitic conspiracy theories have spread, and COVID-19-related anti-Muslim attacks have occurred.’ The UN chief said migrants and refugees ‘have been vilified as a source of the virus – and then denied access to medical treatment.’ . . . ‘With older persons among the most vulnerable, contemptible memes have emerged suggesting they are also the most expendable,’ he said. ‘And journalists, whistleblowers, health professionals, aid workers and human rights defenders are being targeted simply for doing their jobs.’ . . . .”

4.–An article in The Guardian–citing a source within the Trump administration–compared the Covid-19 political landscape in the U.S. with late Weimar Germany: ” . . . . Welcome to the US in the age of coronavirus. Faces and fists pounded the windows of Ohio’s capitol like a zombie apocalypse. In Michigan, an armed crowd stormed the state house. Then, history repeated itself. . . . A Trump administration insider conveyed that it was all a ‘bit’ reminiscent of the ‘late’ Weimar Republic. We know how that ended. . . .Society’s guardrails crashed, the volk demanded its pound of flesh and democracy made the frighteningly unimaginable possible. Hell became part of the here and now. . . .”

5.–Critical observations by Wolfgang Schauble–the German/EU “Austerity Czar” who wrought so much suffering following the 2008 economic collapse–has clearly enunciated the functional and philosophical essence of “corporatist” and eugenic doctrine. After the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, he has redoubled his “Teutonic brutality” and his views have been embraced by the German establishment: ” . . . . Schäuble’s tactics [during the financial crisis] seemed to scare Europe with ‘traumatic effects’ and gave it a lesson in German economic ethics: Teutonic brutality and at all costs. ‘Terrifying,’ was the assessment the US Treasury Secretary made following his conversation with Schäuble. Paris and Madrid were also apprehensive; Athens called Schäuble an ‘arsonist,’ on a rampage through Europe. . . . Schäuble has elaborated in 2020 on what he had already made clear in 2012, during the international financial crisis: ‘If I hear that everything else must take a back seat to the preservation of life, I must say that this, in such unequivocalness, is not right.’ Protection of human life does not have an ‘absolute priority in our Basic Law.’ . . . Schäuble’s statements are exemplary and are of ‘national significance’ declared the German Ethics Council. . . .In fact, the government’s obligation to the constitution’s highest value — the protection of life — must be relativized, just as Schäuble is doing, confirm the majority of Germany’s government leaders. . . .  a fellow Green municipal politician speaks in plain operational terms; ‘Let me tell you quite bluntly: We may be saving people in Germany, who, because of their age or serious previous medical conditions, may, be dead anyway in a half a year.’ . . . .”

In FTR #1128, we hypothesized about the possible role in the Covid-19 pandemic of a post-Apartheid, underground fascist milieu with links to elements of CIA and veterans of Project Coast. Those who reject such an hypothesis would do well to consider the musings of an FBI informant knowledgeable about “Die Organisasie.” That such a milieu might be willing to target the U.S. seems probable: ” . . . . South African trade attaché Gideon Bouwer raved about the ability to keep whites in power through biological warfare, and he hinted at being part of a separate agenda—some sort of extragovernmental conspiracy, like the one described in the Air Force report, that had plans to unleash biological agents worldwide on South Africa’s enemies if the need should ever arise. ‘Just be ready,’ Fitzpatrick remembers Bouwer warning him cryptically, then asking, ‘How fast could get your daughter out of the country if you had to?’ . . .”

The bulk of the discussion elaborates on discussion of the virus originating in a laboratory–in the U.S., NOT China.

As discussed in FTR #1124–among other programs–it is now possible to create ANY virus from scratch, using “mail-order” or “designer” genes. Sadly predictable journalistic bromides that the Covid-19 coronavirus could not have been/was not made in a laboratory fly in the face of bio-technology that has existed for 20 years. A BBC story from 1999 highlights the fears of experts that the advent of such technology could enable the development of ethno-specific biological weapons: ” . . . . Advances in genetic knowledge could be misused to develop powerful biological weapons that could be tailored to strike at specific ethnic groups, the British Medical Association has warned. A BMA report Biotechnology, Weapons and Humanity says that concerted international action is necessary to block the development of new, biological weapons. It warns the window of opportunity to do so is very narrow as technology is developing rapidly and becoming ever more accessible. ‘. . . The BMA report warns that legitimate research into microbiological agents and genetically targeted therapeutic agents could be difficult to distinguish from research geared towards developing more effective weapons. . . . Dr Vivienne Nathanson, BMA Head of Health Policy Research said:  ‘The history of humanity is a history of war. Scientific advances quickly lead to developments in weapons technology. . . .‘Biotechnology and genetic knowledge are equally open to this type of malign use. . . . ”

Of paramount importance is the fact that the statements being issued that the virus was not made in a laboratory is not just irrelevant, but absurd. ANY virus can be made in a laboratory, from scratch as is being done for the SARS-CoV‑2 (Covid-19) virus. The bromides being issued–all too predictably–that the virus could not have been/wasn’t made in a laboratory are the virological equivalent of the Magic Bullet Theory.

In that context, we review the fact that Ralph Baric–who did the gain-of-function modification on the Horseshoe Bat coronavirus–has been selected to engineer the Covid-19. ” . . . . Researchers are trying to create a copy of the virus. From scratch. Led by Ralph Baric, an expert in coronaviruses—which get their name from the crown-shaped spike they use to enter human cells—the North Carolina team expects to recreate the virus starting only from computer readouts of its genetic sequence posted online by Chinese labs last month. . . .”

Note what might be termed a “virologic Jurassic Park” manifestation: ” . . . . The technology immediately created bio-weapon worries. . . . Researchers at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) drove that point home in 2005 when they resurrected the influenza virus that killed tens of millions in 1918–1919. . . .”

We note in passing the VERY unusual aspects of Covid-19. ” . . . . ‘I’ve been studying viruses since 1978,’ Dr. James Hildreth, Meharry Medical College CEO and an infectious disease expert based out of Nashville, told Yahoo Finance’s On the Move this week (video above). ‘And I think it’s fair to say we’ve not encountered a virus quite like this, just because of the broad range of tissue types in our body it infects.’ . . .”

The program concludes with discussion of two articles refuting the “Warren Report” of Covid-19 genesis–a Nature Medicine article that is accepted as Gospel.

Like the Bible, it is open to serious scientific refutation: ” . . . . To put it simply, the authors are saying that SARS-CoV‑2 was not deliberately engineered because if it were, it would have been designed differently. However, the London-based molecular geneticist Dr Michael Antoniou commented that this line of reasoning fails to take into account that there are a number of laboratory-based systems that can select for high affinity RBD variants that are able to take into account the complex environment of a living organism. This complex environment may impact the efficiency with which the SARS-CoV spike protein can find the ACE2 receptor and bind to it. An RBD selected via these more realistic real-world experimental systems would be just as ‘ideal’, or even more so, for human ACE2 binding than any RBD that a computer model could predict. And crucially, it would likely be different in amino acid sequence. So the fact that SARS-CoV‑2 doesn’t have the same RBD amino acid sequence as the one that the computer program predicted in no way rules out the possibility that it was genetically engineered. . . .”

Dr. Michael Antoniou notes that different genetic engineering processes than the one highlighted in the Nature Medicine paper can be used: ”  . . . . There is another method by which an enhanced-infectivity virus can be engineered in the lab. A well-known alternative process that could have been used has the cumbersome name of “directed iterative evolutionary selection process”. In this case, it would involve using genetic engineering to generate a large number of randomly mutated versions of the SARS-CoV spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD), which would then be selected for strong binding to the ACE2 receptor and consequently high infectivity of human cells. . . .”

The notion that the Nature Medicine authors had not heard of the above process is not credible: ” . . . . Such a directed iterative evolutionary selection process is a frequently used method in laboratory research. So there is little or no possibility that the Nature Medicine article authors haven’t heard of it – not least, as it is considered so scientifically important that its inventors were awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2018. . . .”

Of more than passing significance is another article that finds serious fault with the Nature Medicine paper. ” . . . . Professor Stuart Newman, professor of cell biology and anatomy at New York Medical College, says that a key argument used to deny that it could be a genetically engineered strain that escaped from a laboratory actually points to the exact opposite. In other words, it indicates that SARS-CoV‑2 could well be genetically engineered and that it could have escaped from a lab. . . . As Adam Lauring, an associate professor of microbiology, immunology and infectious diseases at the University of Michigan Medical School, has noted, Andersen’s paper argues that, ‘the SARS-CoV‑2 virus has some key differences in specific genes relative to previously identified coronaviruses – the ones a laboratory would be working with. This constellation of changes makes it unlikely that it is the result of a laboratory ‘escape’.‘But Professor Newman says that this is totally unconvincing because ‘The ‘key differences’ were in regions of the coronavirus spike protein that were the subject of genetic engineering experiments in labs around the world (mainly in the US and China) for two decades.’ . . .”

Professor Newman goes on to highlight other, serious flaws in the argument: ” . . . In an email interview with GMWatch, Newman, who is editor-in-chief of the journal Biological Theory and co-author (with Tina Stevens) of the book Biotech Juggernaut, amplified this speculation by noting, ‘The Nature Medicine paper points to variations in two sites of the spike protein of the new coronavirus that the authors claim must have arisen by natural selection in the wild. However, genetic engineering of one of these sites, the ACE2 receptor binding domain, has been proposed since 2005 in order to help generate vaccines against these viruses (see this paper). It is puzzling that the authors of the Nature Medicine commentary did not cite this paper, which appeared in the prominent journal Science.’ Moreover, Newman added, “The second site that Andersen et al. assert arose by natural means, a target of enzyme cleavage not usually found in this class of viruses, was in fact introduced by genetic engineering in a similar coronavirus in a paper they do cite. This was done to explore mechanisms of pathogenicity. . . . .”

Worth noting, again, is the British Medical Association’s warning discussed above: ” . . . .The BMA report warns that legitimate research into microbiological agents and genetically targeted therapeutic agents could be difficult to distinguish from research geared towards developing more effective weapons. . . .”

As the GMWatch authors conclude: ” . . . . Such ‘enhanced infectivity’ research is carried out on viruses all over the world (and not just in China) to investigate their behaviour and to develop vaccines and other therapies, as well as for ‘biodefence’ purposes. . . .”

FTR #1125 Three-Dimensional Chess and the Covid-19 Outbreak: A Structural Overview

“A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.”–Edward R. Murrow

This program is an overview of a number of overlapping considerations in the Covid-19 outbreak, which Mr. Emory calls a “Bio-Psy-Op.” These overlapping areas will be presented in a series of programs: FTR #1126 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 2: The Democracy-Killing Virus; FTR #1127 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 3: The Eugenic Virus; FTR #1128 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 4: The Wealth-Concentrating Virus; FTR #1129 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 5: Walkin’ the Coronavirus; FTR #1130 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 6: Context–The China-Killing Virus; FTR #1131 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse, Part 7: Pinchback’s Perspective and FTR #1132 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 8: The Nazi Virus.

Before discussing the Covid-19 “op,” per se, we memorialized the brilliant Kevin Coogan, author of “Dreamer of the Day: Francis Parker Yockey and the Postwar Fascist International,” as well as numerous articles. Kevin passed away on 2/27/2020 in New York City. We do not know the cause. Kevin was a brilliant writer and analyst and will be sorely missed.

In For The Record #233, we examined Kevin’s analysis of “The Order,” a fascist/mystical concept that was formulated, in part by fascist mystic Julius Evola. Evola was a dominant philosophical and ideological influence on Steve Bannon, at the epicenter of the anti-China effort. (Mr. Emory misspoke himself–the program is FTR #233, not #312.)

The concept of three-dimensional chess derives from the old “Star Trek” television series, in which the officers played a variation of chess that involved playing on three different levels. Understanding the “Bio-Psy-Op” similarly involves thinking and awareness on at least three levels.

An op-ed column in The New York Times by Bret Stephens goes to the essence of this “bio-psy-op.” ” . . . . The only certainty is that, in the midst of a crisis, politicians are rarely penalized for predicting the worst possible outcome. If it comes to pass, they seem prophetic. If it doesn’t, they take credit for averting catastrophe. In the meantime, they seek to enhance their powers. . . . we might face not a recession but a full-blown depression, which would be financially ruinous for hundreds of millions and have its own disastrous knock-on effects in mental, emotional, and physical health, including for the elderly and sick who already face the greatest risks from the virus. . . .”

Key points of discussion and analysis, which will be developed at much greater length and in much greater detail in the series of programs noted above, including some of the articles which will figure into the analysis:

1.–Exemplifying the profound psychological aspects of the Covid-19 Psy-Op is the phenomenon of the hoarding of toilet paper. Mr. Emory views this as a deep Freudian/anal response to feelings of helplessness on the part of citizens. Toilet paper is of no help against the virus, but is symptomatic of a deep-seated personality dynamic seeking to manifest some measure of social control. This was the subject of a recent New Yorker piece. ” . . . . ‘Controlling cleanliness around B.M.s is the earliest way the child asserts control,’ Andrea Greenman, the president of the Contemporary Freudian Society, said. ‘The fact that now we are all presumably losing control creates a regressive push to a very early time. So, I guess that translates in the unconscious to ‘If I have a lifelong supply of toilet paper, I’ll never be out of control, never be a helpless, dirty child again.’ ’ . . . .”

2.–FTR #1126 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 2: The Democracy-Killing Virus: The Covid-19 “op” is leading to the attenuation or elimination of democracy all over the world. In addition to draconian powers proposed by “ex” CIA officer and Attorney General William Barr, Trump has boasted about powers granted to him “that people don’t even know about.” Abroad, fascists and autocrats from Viktor Orban to Narendra Modi are using the Covid-19 outbreak to cement control. Even Great Britain has manifested emergency powers that one critic termed “Eye-Watering.” Civil liberties are taking a beating, with “Pandemic Surveillance” enabling a massive erosion of privacy that is unlikely to abate. There are questions about whether the elections will be held in November. (“Trump Has Emergency Powers We Aren’t Allowed to Know About” by Elizabeth Gotein and Andrew Boyle; The New York Times; 4/10/2020.; “DOJ seeks new emergency powers amid coronavirus pandemic” by Betsy Woodruff Swan; Politico; 03/21/2020; “Exclusive: Inside the Military’s Top Secret Plans If the Coronavirus Cripples Government” by William M. Arkin; Newsweek; 3/18/2020; “Exclusive: U.S. Military Activates Its Never-Before-Used Federal Response to Combat Coronavirus Outbreak” by William M. Arkin; Newsweek; 2/27/2020.; “For Autocrats and Others, Coronavirus Is a Chance to Grab Even More Power” by Selam Gebrikadan; The New York Times; 3/30/2020.; “Media Dissent Fades as Modi Tightens Grip” by Vindu Goel and Jeffrey Gettleman; The New York Times; 4/3/2020.; “Coronavirus Surveillance Is Entering Dystopian Territory” by Eric Lutz; Vanity Fair; 4/9/2020.

3.–FTR #1127 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 3: The Eugenic Virus: The disproportionate damage being inflicted by the pandemic on minorities–African-Americans and Latinos in particular, has received considerable discussion. Economically disadvantaged to a considerable extent and subject to the physiological, psychological and behavioral liabilities stemming from that state of affairs, they are more vulnerable to the ravages of the virus. In addition, “social-distancing” is a luxury that many poor people can not afford. Another major consideration concerns the rationing of health care. People with disabilities are afraid they will be shunted “to the back of the line” when it comes time for them to receive proper treatment. The elderly are falling ill and dying all over the world. (“People with Disabilities Are Afraid They Will Be Discriminated Against Because of Coronavirus” by Rick Jervais; USA Today; 3/26/2020.; “Who Should Be Saved First? Experts Offer Medical Guidance” by Austin Frakt; The New York Times; 3/24/2020.; “Early Data Shows African Americans Contracting and Dying of Coronavirus at an Alarming Rate” by Akilah Johnson and Talia Buford; ProPublica; 4/3/2020.; “Social Distancing Is A Privilege” by Charles Blow; The New York Times; 4/5/2020. ; “Scapegoating New York Means Ignoring Its Desperate Need” by Kim Phillips-Fein; The New York Times; 4/5/2020.

4.–FTR #1128 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 4: The Wealth-Concentrating Virus: In FTR #‘s 1111 and 1112, among other programs, we spoke of the networking and investing of Steve Bannon, J. Kyle Bass and Tommy Hicks, Jr. Bass, you will recall, is asymmetrically invested with regard to the economies in Hong Kong and China. He has certainly made money, as have many others. With the Federal Reserve estimating unemployment at rates that may reach 32% and economist Paul Krugman opining that this downturn will be three to five times as bad as the 2008 financial collapse, those who do have money will be able to buy up assets at pennies on the dollar. An article in The Guardian discusses hedge fund returns of as much as 4,000+ percent for some firms. The possibility of “insider knowledge” of the coming pandemic suggests itself. It should be noted that J. Kyle Bass made his fortune betting against the subprime housing market. In this program, we will discuss his role in helping to bring down Bear Stearns in the 2008 collapse. A former employee of that ill-fated company, Bass leaked damaging information about Bear Stearns to a Wall Street Journal reporter, thereby precipitating the collapse of the firm. (“Coronavirus job losses could total 47 million, unemployment rate may hit 32%, Fed estimates” by Jeff Cox; CNBC; 03/30/2020; “Hedge funds ‘raking in billions’ during coronavirus crisis” by Rupert Neate Wealth and Jasper Jolly; The Guardian; 04/09/2020.; “WSJ: ‘Twas Kyle Bass that Killed Bear Stearns” by Thornton McEnery; Dealbreaker.com; 3/29/2016 [Updated on 1/14/2019.]; “Nassim Taleb-Advised Universa Tail Fund Returned 3,600% in March” by Erik Schatzker; Bloomberg; 04/08/2020; “How A Goat Farmer Built A Doomsday Machine That Just Booked A 4,144% Return” by Antoine Gara; Forbes; 04/13/2020.

5.–FTR #1129 Bio-Psy-Op Apocalypse Now, Part 5: Walkin’ The Coronavirus: In the Nazi tract Serpent’s Walk–which we have discussed for decades–the SS go underground (which they did), buy into the opinion-forming media (which they did) and, infiltrate the military (which they have done), and, after a terrorist attack by genetically-engineered viruses decimates large parts of the United States, martial law is declared and the Nazis take over. From Serpent’s Walk: “. . . . ‘Yes. Well. ‘Pacov’ stands for ‘Pandemic Communicable Virus,’ one of the uglier results of military experimentation with recombinant DNA. Do you know what that is?’. . . . ‘Very well, let me tell you in layman’s terms.’ Mulder extended a hand to shush Wrench, who had started to speak. ‘Pacov consists of two separate re-workings of two DNA chains of existing viruses. It’s a piggy-back weapon, a two-stage operation. You send in the first stage. The vectors . . . agents of transmission . . . for Pacov‑1 are extensive. It travels through the air, the water, or directly from person-to-person and is highly contagious. It spreads for hundreds of miles, if conditions are optimal.  Pacov‑1 produces only a mild, flu-like infection that disappears within a day or two. Public health authorities would overlook it, never consider it a serious epidemic, and even if they did they’d have to look carefully to isolate it. Once a victim is over the ‘flu,’ Pacov‑1 becomes dormant and almost undetectable. A month or two later, you send in the second stage: Pacov‑2 is also a virus, just as contagious as the first, and just as harmless by itself. It reacts with Pacov‑1 to produce a powerful coagulant. . . . you die within three minutes. No warning, no vaccine, no cure. Those not exposed to both stages remain unharmed. . . . (Pinchback worked in the Operations Command at Fort Sill, where he intercepted mail.) In the letter, Ferrie shared his dream of the re-unification of Germany and living in a world where all the currency was in Deutschmarks. FTR #927 The Trumpenkampfverbande, Part 6: Locker Room Eclipse

With Donald Trump’s sexual habits and speech dominating the headlines at the moment, we are seeing what Trump termed “locker room” banter eclipse far more important aspects of the Trump phenomenon. The GOP candidate continues to manifest Nazi-style beliefs, trumpeting the importance of heredity, breeding and genes to success, with his own German heritage having much to do with his own largesse. In that context, we note that his “genes,” in the form of Donald, Jr., may well be on the scene for some time.

Although Donald, Sr. would appear poised to lose the election in November, the Trumpenkampfverbande–the movement that has coalesced around him–is poised to continue, being (in our opinion) the transformation of the Underground Reich into a broad-based mass movement. Donald, Jr. appears to be a bird of the same political plumage as his father, with a penchant for racism and “Alt-right” tweeting. As one blogger put it: ” . . . And in the last couple of weeks Junior has let his alt-right freak flag fly. . . .” Junior also has political aspirations: ” . . . The oldest son of the Republican presidential nominee said that while he still has ‘a lot to do in my own career,’ he would seriously consider following in his father’s footsteps out of real estate and into political life. . . .” Donald, Jr. does not appear on the surface to share his father’s destructive sexual practices, and might become a standard-bearer for an Underground Reich in plain view for some time to come.

Another critical aspect of Trump’s political connections that has been overshadowed by the “locker room eclipse” concerns Trump’s profound, longstanding connections to Deutsche Bank, his go-to lender for his myriad real estate practices. Currently destabilizing equities markets around the world, Deutsche Bank holds the potential to collapse the global financial landscape. Having benefitted from a “rigged” ECB stress test, having benefitted from predatory lending practices during the sub-prime crisis, having benefitted from a Federal Reserve bailout following the collapse of 2008 and facing a potential $14 billion fine from the U.S. Department of Justice, Deutsche Bank holds 42 trillion euros worth of derivatives on its books, an amount 11 times the economy of Germany! Trump’s being in hoc to Deutsche Bank for upwards of $100 million raises interesting questions about his potential position as head of the U.S. government.

Another, related aspect of Trump’s candidacy concerns his threat to fire Federal Reserve head Janet Yellen and his advisers ranging from “Alt-right” ideologues to champions of a return to the gold standard–a move that would collapse the American and global economies. [This is against the background of the possibility that the Fed may have to extend another lifeline to Deutsche Bank to prevent another international financial meltdown] ” . . . In the first [group of Trump economic advisors] are Larry Kudlow and Judy Shelton, the intellectuals of the bunch, and both advocates of a return to the gold standard. While it has become popular among some Republicans in the past few years, returning to the gold standard is dismissed as a discredited, fringe idea by nearly all economists and market participants. And, for their part, gold-standard supporters typically reject the very idea of a Federal Reserve, so if Trump were to appoint Kudlow, Shelton, or another gold-standard supporter to the Fed, it would be the most radical and potentially damaging economic move since the dawn of our modern economic system, after the Great Depression. . . .”

Program Highlights Include: Review of “The Donald’s” affinity for the speeches of Adolf Hitler; review of Trump’s father’s possible membership in the Ku Klux Klan; Trump’s exhortations to his followers to disregard “the rigged” election and the possibility (probability?) that this will lead to “lone wolf,” leaderless resistance terrorism and murder; Donald Trump’s links to the Steuben Society.

Krugmenistan vs Trumplandia: Backflipping into a Depression

In this return to Krugmenistan we’re going to return at a topic everyone loves: Federal Reserve interest rate policies. Yay! If that sounds boring, note that we’re specifically going to examine Donald Trump’s plans for the Federal Reserve so it’s guaranteed to be crazy. And ominous. Does that sound boring? How about plans to intentionally collapse the economy for no discernible reason. Does that sound boring? No, this is Donald Trump’s policies we’re talking about. It’s anything but boring. Or sane.

Krugmenistan vs the Permahawks

Lift Off! That was the announcement by the Federal Reserve this week when the world’s biggest and most influential central bank started the long awaited raising of its benchmark short-term rate a quarter point from near-zero levels, marking the first time the Fed has raised rates since 2006. It was big news, except this rate hike was telegraphed for quite a while now and virtually everyone was expecting the Fed to do exactly what it did, so it’s not as big as it could have been. If the Fed had decided not to raise rates, despite all the telegraphing, that probably would have been a bigger story. But would it have been a bad story if the Fed decided to keep rates at their current near-zero levels? There’s a big debate in the economic community over that. And it’s a debate that pits prudent economists with excellent track-records like Paul Krugman, someone who opposed the Fed’s December “lift off” decision, against the broad array of “permahawks”. But it’s not just the question with respect to Fed. The European Central Bank made a policy announcement this month too regarding its stimulus measure and it was indeed rather surprising. And as we’re also going to see in this post, it was surprising in the way that just might have done serious damage to not just the credibility of ECB President Mario Draghi but the ECB itself. Or at least credibility in the ECB’s commitment to its single mandate of keeping inflation hovering around 2 percent.

To placate permahawks (to maintain credibility) or not placate the permahawks (to maintain credibility)? That is the question. Or at least one of the questions central banks face. Unfortunately.
