In late 2005, American popular culture paid homage to one of the greatest journalists of all time. In “Goodnight and Good Luck,” the life and work of CBS radio and television journalist Edward R. Murrow provided the material for a Hollywood feature film. Paul Manning was arguably the greatest of “Murrow’s Boys”—the group of skilled journalists Murrow ran in Europe during World War II. After training as a gunner and flying combat missions in both Europe and over Japan, Manning broadcast the surrenders of both Germany and Japan on the CBS radio network. After the war, Manning undertook an investigation of Hitler’s Deputy, Martin Bormann, and the postwar capital network he ran, in considerable measure, at the encouragement of Murrow. Partially underwritten by CBS, the story of the Bormann organization proved too sensitive for the network to report.
A decisively powerful network of corporate entities run by hardened SS veterans, the Bormann group constitutes what one veteran banker termed “the greatest concentration of money power under a single control in history.” The foundation of the organization’s clout is money—lots and lots of money. Controlling German big business and, through investments, much of the rest of the world’s economy, the organization was the repository for the stolen wealth of Europe, estimated by British intelligence to have totaled more than $180 billion by the end of 1943 (not including the money taken from Greece and the former Soviet Union, nor that taken after 1943.) [For more on the global economic significance of the Bormann group, see—among other programs—FTR#99.] This organization literally constitutes a postwar “Underground Reich” with (as discussed in FTR#155) a governing hierarchy composed of the sons and daughters of SS men, holding military ranks and titles from the Third Reich.
In addition to the enormous power deriving from its consummate economic clout, the Bormann group has wielded tremendous global influence through its intelligence and enforcement network. Administered by SS general Heinrich Mueller, the wartime head of the Gestapo, the Bormann group’s intelligence and security network was composed of some of the toughest, most capable veterans of the SS. In addition, the Bormann organization and Mueller’s security outfit have commanded the loyalty of the political, intelligence and military elements requisitioned by the Allies after the war. In that regard, the Bormann/Mueller operation could draw on the loyalties of the Reinhard Gehlen spy outfit that handled the CIA’s intelligence on the former Soviet Union and which ultimately became the intelligence service of the Federal Republic of Germany. In addition, Bormann and Mueller were the political masters of the numerous scientists recruited by the U.S. and other nations for their expertise during the Cold War, as well as the numerous Nazis brought into the U.S. under the auspices of the Crusade For Freedom. Those latter ultimately coalesced into a major element of the Republican Party. (For more about the Crusade for Freedom, see—among other programs—FTR#465.)
With its economic, political and espionage capabilities, the Bormann group embodies the triumph of the forces of National Socialism in the postwar period. Whereas the United States was the dominant element within the international cartel system prior to, and during, World War II, the Bormann group is the primary entity in the postwar global corporate economy.
The organization’s clout has successfully obscured its existence in the face of journalistic investigation. Compare the “official” fate of Bormann (supposedly killed at the end of the war) with demonstrable historical fact, as researched by Manning. Relating information from the FBI’s file on Bormann, Manning writes: “ . . .The file revealed that he had been banking under his own name from his office in Germany in Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires since 1941; that he held one joint account with the Argentinian dictator Juan Peron, and on August 4, 5 and 14, 1967, had written checks on demand accounts in first National City Bank (Overseas Division) of New York, The Chase Manhattan Bank, and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., all cleared through Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires. . . .”
(Martin Bormann: Nazi in Exile, p. 205.)
FTR#305 is a condensation of some of the key segments of text from Manning’s landmark book. The story of the active suppression of Manning’s work on Bormann is contained in FTR#152 (side A). The moving tale of Manning’s heroic, decades-long investigation into the Bormann group is contained in a professional biography of Paul Manning that accompanies the text. That professional biography also recounts the professional retribution to which Manning was subjected in retaliation for his work (including the 1993 murder of his son Gerry.)
Readers interested the Manning text on Bormann should also investigate Gold Warriors by the Seagraves—the story of Japan’s postwar capital network and its profound relationship with the global economy.

Paul Manning had the journalistic skill and personal investment to write one of the seminal books of Twentieth Century History, Martin Bormann: Nazi in Exile, as a chilling thriller that reads like a Robert Ludlam novel. I was moved by his rememberances of his bombing flights over Germany in the B‑17 Liberators flying for Edward R. Morrow’s special air force and chilled to the bone by the story of Bormann’s escape from Germany and shadow government from Argentina and Paraguay. The Bormann organization is the real planetary bank and they seem “too big to fail”.

@James: Too true. Unfortunately, about the only thing we hear is, “Lord Rothschild, Lord Rothschild”, “Zionists, Zionists,” or “Illuminati! Reptilians! Tall Greys!” on much of the alt-media nowadays. We don’t hear much about real events like the Operation Green Quest investigation, or the Muslim Brotherhood’s hijacking of the ‘Arab Spring’ movements..........or that white supremacists and other totalitarians have tried to infiltrate & subvert sections of the military and numerous police depts. across the country!
All we hear about is how the tiny nation of Israel{which couldn’t survive without U.S. help}is supposedly ‘controlling’ the U.S., or how we’re all about to be massacred by aliens from Uranus or wherever, etc. and other stupid shit like that.

The Knight of Malta that would support this money laundering base was Franz von Papen, Hitler’s Counselor, who would sign a concordat between the Vatican and Germany in 1933.

And since Benito Mussolini, who as far as I know was the first fascist in politics, would give the Vatican to the pope in 1929, any Vatican connection will make history more clear here.

I notice here no mention of William Stevenson’s 1973 book, ” The Bormann Brotherhood”.
Like manning’s book , extremely rare, but full of strong meat, based on solid investigative foot-slogging. Has not dated.
( Stevenson was too canny to waste his time following up false dead ends , like the ‘Bormann as Russian spy’ diversion, for example. )
Stevenson’s book also reads like a chilling thriller, and appears to have reached the same conxlusions as Manning.
Not knowing Manning’s book, does Manning acknowledge Stevenson as one of his sources ?
@Azaldo–
Manning does not source the Stevenson text.
I’ve excerpted it in Anti-Fascist Archive shows #2, #10.
Does anyone know of a reliable and reasonably priced source for Paul Manning’s book — “Martin Bormann, Nazi in exile”?
@Roger–
Yes, indeed. The book is available for download for free–a VERY reasonable price–on this website.
Check the “Books” category, linked at the top of this website.
Download it and have it printed and covered.
Easy to do.

Dave

Has anyone done any research or know of any articles that question the 1998 DNA testing that identified the remains found in Berlin in 1973 as that of Bormann? Obviously, I am entirely skeptical of this convenient identification, but it would be interesting to know the ways in which this issue has been addressed (Wikipedia obviously use it as a ‘fact’ and as a tool to discredit the thesis of his escape).
The William Stevenson book was mentioned above and I found a PDF of it which I have uploaded for anyone interested:
http://www.mediafire.com/view/6n78b516xv8mpkx/The-Bormann-Brotherhood-William_Stevenson-1973.pdf
(Obviously if there any copyright issues, just remove the link)
One Bormann related book I have never been able to find a PDF of is Treason for My Daily Bread by Mikhail Lebedev. I am considering buying a copy and making it freely available, but the current second-hand price is incredibly expensive. Again, Wikipedia have pronounced it a hoax (based on the Bormann DNA ‘evidence.’)
@Paul Harvey–
I am not aware of any books or articles dedicated to deconstructing the “Bormann DNA” hoax, and that is almost certainly what it is.
The “Bormann skull” and other remains, as well as the DNA sample taken from a surviving member of the Bormann family, were destroyed after the story was disseminated.
As a result, there can be no independent verification of the results.
IF the tests conclusively demonstrated that Bormann died, why not keep the proof around to satisfy further inquiries?
The fact that the so-called evidence was destroyed, rather than preserved, is telling.
As far as evidentiary integrity, the material in the second paragraph of page 205 is significant:
” . . . The [FBI] file revealed that he had been banking under his own name from his office in Germany in Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires since 1941; that he held one joint account with the Argentinian dictator Juan Peron, and on August 4, 5 and 14, 1967, had written checks on demand accounts in first National City Bank (Overseas Division) of New York, The Chase Manhattan Bank, and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., all cleared through Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires. . . .”
Banking records from an FBI file on an individual are VERY strong, credible documents.
Also: Some naysayers have attempted to use Paul Manning’s dedication of the book to Allen Dulles to spin the work as some sort of CIA disinformation.
If the writing and publication of the book were an “op,” it would have been featured in the New York Times, Newsweek and the other MSM.
Instead, it was suppressed, with the New York Times declining to review it.
FTR #152, side a, features discussion of the suppression of the book.
https://spitfirelist.com/for-the-record/ftr-152-update-on-germany/
The Lebedev book is, indeed, expensive and I suspect it is accurate.
More about that, perhaps, in a future post.
Best,

Dave and Paul: I have studied this book with considerable interest and it continues to puzzle me. Mae Brussell stood by it and I’m inclined to agree. There are so many seeming incidental points but she mentions the story of Bormann dressing as a Catholic priest in Bolzano not being made known until Farago’s Aftermath in 1974, well after the time that Todd would have commissioned W.G. Stanton to write his ‘novel’. Stanton’s website is quite sparse in terms of information about the book and what little appears there is misleading. One bit of information that suggests there is more to this book is the reference to a Colonel Orlov while Lebedev is in touch with Ferrie and the exiles in New Orleans. Orlov was mentioned by DeMorenshildt in his Warren Commission testimony and is later mentioned in Epstein’s Legend as Colonel Laurence Orlov who supposedly first introduced the Oswald’s to DeMorenschildt. Interestingly there was a Vlassov veteran named Igor Orlov who went over to Gehlen’s group after the war and worked in Berlin for some time before coming to the USA and settling in the Alexandria, Virginia area. This information is mentioned in David Wise’s Molehunt and Joseph Trento’s Secret History of the CIA. There are notable gaps in his biography during the year 1963 and he was in touch with Angleton and Nosenko among many others. He was code named Sasha but obviously used other aliases.
Dear Dave,
I am fascinated by this book and also the Peter Manning interview.
I wonder if you ever received a copy of the follow up book that was mentioned by Peter in that interview, but was never published? Has anyone ever seen this document?
I find the skull and DNA evidence poor as well as ‘suddenly’ finding the bodies in 1972. Are you convinced that this was not Bormann are that the evidence was faked? Or do you feel Manning could have been being manipulated by the organisation by Bormann’s new leaders. People say he died being looked after by Mengele with stomach cancer. I see that Farago was set up and wonder if Manning could have been set up as getting to close to the truth?
As I am in the UK, I wonder what advice you with have for our European Referendum? I also see the strong link between Bormann and the Bilderbergs and the EU. The UK now seems implicit in the Underground Reich, but autonomy might reduce threats? Because you are an expert in this area, I would be interested to hear your views on picking apart who and what positions could hypothetically put people in a stronger political position against the Bormann and Bilderberg agenda?
Anyway all just thoughts and questions for someone learning through your fascinating podcasts.
Dear Adam–
Page 205 of the Manning text:
” . . . The [FBI] file revealed that he [Bormann] had been banking under his own name from his office in Germany in Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires since 1941; that he held one joint account with the Argentinian dictator Juan Peron, and on August 4, 5 and 14, 1967, had written checks on demand accounts in first National City Bank (Overseas Division) of New York, The Chase Manhattan Bank, and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co., all cleared through Deutsche Bank of Buenos Aires. . . .”
Banking records in an FBI file constitute superb documentation.
Try opening a bank account under the name of “Martin Bormann.”
The “DNA test” that supposedly determined that the remains found in Berlin were those of Bormann can never be independently assessed.
The remains were destroyed, supposedly to prevent the evolution of some “Nazi shrine” around them.
The objective observer is left in the position of having to trust the word of the German government in this matter.
Now, the German government wouldn’t tell a lie about a very important and sensitive matter, would it?
If the book were disinformation, it would have been widely disseminated, not eclipsed.
I have no particular opinion on the referendum. I suspect it may be too late for the UK.
I hope I’m wrong.
Best,
Dave

A Daily Mail (U.K) article by David Averre on October 7, 2021 shows:
The Article mentions the followng:
A haul of Nazi memorabilia and weapons worth an estimated £2.5million has been found at the home of a suspected paedophile in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The 58-year-old suspect, identified as Aylson Proenca Doyle Linhares, was arrested on Tuesday after parents from his local neighborhood reported him for allegedly abusing their 12-year-old son.
Rio’s civil police said they discovered more than 1,000 items at the home of Linhares, including Nazi uniforms, periodicals, paintings, Nazi insignia, images of Adolf Hitler, flags and medals of the Third Reich.
In the final months of WWII and in the years following the war, thousands of Nazis are thought to have fled to South America to escape being brought to justice after the collapse of the Third Reich. In 2012, German prosecutors were granted access to files in Brazil and Chile that purported to show a record of Third Reich sympathizers that had immigrated to the continent from Europe following the war. According to the documents, an estimated 9,000 war criminals escaped to South America, including Croatians, Ukrainians, Russians and other western Europeans who aided the Nazi murder machine.
Several notorious Nazis such as Adolf Eichmann, one of the architects of the Holocaust, also escaped to South America. He lived under a pseudonym until he was captured by Israeli intelligence agents in Buenos Aires in 1960. He was later executed. The infamous doctor Josef Mengele, often referred to as ‘the Angel of Death’ who carried out genetic research on Jews, also lived for some years in the city, before moving around South America to evade the authorities.
Last year, researchers combing through a Nazi base in Buenos Aires discovered a list of over 12,000 Nazis who had left Europe to live in Argentina during the 1930s, just prior to WWII.
Daggers and nine firearms were also found, including a rifle and a machine gun, as well as a large stash of ammunition.
In the final months of WWII and in the years following the war, thousands of Nazis are thought to have fled to South America to escape being brought to justice after the collapse of the Third Reich. As many as 5,000 went to Argentina; between 1,500 and 2,000 are thought to have made it to Brazil; around 500 to 1,000 to Chile; and the rest to Paraguay and Uruguay. But many people believe the true number of Nazis who escaped to South America is in fact far higher.
Many of the Nazis on the list held funds that were sent to a bank called Schweizerische Kreditanstalt, now known as Credit Suisse
