Listen now: One Segment
The Stibam arms-for-drugs ring was one of the most important and least publicized elements of U.S. and NATO covert operations in the 1970s and 1980s. This program discusses connections between this operation’s drug business and the milieu of the fascist Grey Wolves, some of whose members shot the pope in May of 1981. The broadcast also contains a summary of the numerous connections between Stibam and U.S. intelligence, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the fascist P‑2 Lodge, prominent U.S. politicians and prominent Italian politicians. Some of the organization’s past operations are also discussed, including Stibam’s connections to the Iran-Contra and Iraqgate scandals and its apparent involvement in attempts at smuggling nuclear weapons to Arab nations. (Recorded in the fall of 1995.)
