Intro­duc­tion: Much of Mr. Emory’s dis­cus­sion of 9/11 and relat­ed mat­ters has focused on the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood, an Islam­ic fas­cist orga­ni­za­tion that sup­port­ed the Axis in World War II. The par­ent orga­ni­za­tion of Al Qae­da and Hamas, the Brotherhood’s cor­po­ratist eco­nom­ic phi­los­o­phy has won approval in a grow­ing num­ber of West­ern busi­ness cir­cles. News of the Broth­er­hood is promi­nent in this broad­cast as well.

After pre­sent­ing Broth­er­hood asso­ciate Achmed Huber’s analy­sis of Sep­tem­ber 11, the pro­gram sets forth the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives’ vote to dis­con­tin­ue aid to Sau­di Ara­bia because of its sup­port of ter­ror­ism. [The CIA reset­tled much of the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood in Sau­di Ara­bia after Egypt­ian pres­i­dent Nass­er expelled the orga­ni­za­tion from the land of the Nile.]

The Bush admin­is­tra­tion is con­sid­er­ing a diplo­mat­ic rap­proche­ment with the Broth­er­hood, viewed by some admin­is­tra­tion per­son­nel as a viable diplo­mat­ic ally in the Mus­lim world. The char­ter of Hamas, a Broth­er­hood off­shoot, is more reveal­ing of the organization’s true char­ac­ter, draw­ing heav­i­ly on Nazi and fas­cist ide­o­log­i­cal themes. After review­ing some of [Sau­di] Prince Bandar’s intrigue on behalf of West­ern intel­li­gence, the aero­space indus­try and the Sau­di roy­al fam­i­ly, the pro­gram presents still more dis­cus­sion about the rela­tion­ship between Islamism, the nar­cotics trade, orga­nized crime and ele­ments of the intel­li­gence com­mu­ni­ty.

Pro­gram High­lights Include: The employ­ment of alleged ter­ror­ist con­spir­a­tor Joseph Defre­itas with a sub­sidiary of CIA Air pro­pri­etary Ever­green Avi­a­tion; Hamas’ agree­ment to con­tin­ue a deal to allow a British cor­po­ra­tion to drill for nat­ur­al gas off of Gaza; the use of the hashish trade by Euro­pean Islamists to gen­er­ate funds for ter­ror­ism; review of a 2002 meet­ing of promi­nent Euro­pean fas­cists and Islamists.

1. Begin­ning with an Islamofascist’s analy­sis of 9/11, the pro­gram high­lights Al Taqwa’s Achmed Huber. Huber’s analy­sis of the attacks is sim­i­lar to Mr. Emory’s—that the attacks were launched by a milieu of domes­tic right-wingers, aid­ed by for­eign and Amer­i­can Islam­o­fas­cists. The pur­pose, accord­ing to Huber, was to bring about a 1933-style upheaval like the one that brought Hitler to pow­er. Huber presents Amer­i­ca as run by “Zion­ists” and “Jews.” It is Huber’s belief that events fol­low­ing the attacks—the inva­sion of Iraq in particular—will dis­il­lu­sion the Amer­i­can peo­ple with their “Zion­ist” gov­ern­ment. (For more about Huber, see—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 343, 352, 354, 371, 456.) Note that Huber’s analy­sis is remark­ably sim­i­lar to Mr. Emory’s work­ing hypoth­e­sis, which attrib­ut­es the attacks to an Under­ground Reich milieu con­sist­ing of domes­tic and for­eign neo-Nazis, domes­tic and for­eign Islamists, and ele­ments with­in the Bush admin­is­tra­tion. “I have my own idea about 11 Sep­tem­ber. Among Mus­lims it’s a very con­tro­ver­sial debate. Many Mus­lims still believe that the 11th of Sep­tem­ber was orga­nized by the CIA and the Mossad to bring clos­er togeth­er the rela­tion­ship between Israel and the Unit­ed States, and to help make war in the Mid­dle East, and to put under West­ern-Jew­ish con­trol the most impor­tant geo-polit­i­cal zone on earth, which is the Mid­dle East. I believe that 11 Sep­tem­ber, but I have no proof, was orga­nized by Amer­i­can patri­ots, Mus­lims and non-Mus­lims togeth­er with the help of for­eign Mus­lims resid­ing in the Unit­ed States.”

2. Huber sets forth the types of peo­ple who attend­ed at his lec­ture tours in the Unit­ed States and who, in his opin­ion, were behind the 9/11 attacks. Note that he feels that peo­ple from the right-wing of the GOP were part of the 9/11 milieu. (For more about the GOP/Islamist/Al Taqawa con­nec­tion, see—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 454, 462, 464, 467, 515, 538.) “From 1988 to 1998, I was in Amer­i­ca every year, at Islam­ic con­fer­ences. I made big lec­ture tours through the Unit­ed States and I always met three groups of peo­ple at these con­fer­ences. There were Amer­i­can right-wing peo­ple . . . peo­ple who were rather close to the extreme right of the Repub­li­can Par­ty, or oth­er inde­pen­dent right-wing groups. Then [the sec­ond group was] Mus­lims, young Amer­i­can Mus­lim patri­ots, who came from Mus­lim coun­tries. And then [the third group was] the Nation of Islam peo­ple. And these three groups . . . always told me two things. They said, ‘We must free Amer­i­can from Jew­ish-Zion­ist rule.’ And two, ‘Then we must change the for­eign pol­i­cy of the Unit­ed States toward the nation­al inter­ests of the Amer­i­can peo­ple. . . . We must end this Jew­ish-Zion­ist rule over Amer­i­ca.’ And when I asked, them, ‘How will you do it?’ they said, ‘Well, we have friends in very high places and there will be a big bang. It will hap­pen here to wake up the Amer­i­can peo­ple, you know, like Pearl Har­bor.’ Pearl Har­bor was orga­nized by Roo­sevelt and his Jew­ish [advis­ers] to pro­voke Japan to attack Amer­i­ca. Then Hitler would imme­di­ate­ly declare war on Amer­i­ca. It was not Japan—they real­ly want­ed Amer­i­ca to go to war against Ger­many. . . . Then the way was open to make war against Ger­many. And this is what these peo­ple told me. Some­thing sim­i­lar will hap­pen here. They said, ‘You will hear a big bang.’” (Ibid.; pp. 236–237.)

3. “And then came the 11th of Sep­tem­ber, and my Egypt­ian wife said, ‘You see the Mossad and the CIA.’ And I believed it also. But then I got tele­phone calls from Amer­i­can friends, and they said, ‘See now they have done it.’ I said. What?’ and then they said to me, they have done it, and then the coin was dropped. I said, ‘This is coun­ter­pro­duc­tive. This 11 Sep­tem­ber will pro­voke a huge alliance of Amer­i­can and Israeli Zion­ism against Islam, against the Mus­lim world.’ And they told me, ‘Yes, it will be at the begin­ning, but then Amer­i­ca will get into dif­fi­cult days and after some time, the Amer­i­can peo­ple will wake up. When it is up to the nose in dif­fi­cult days—political, eco­nom­ic, war, and so on—they will ask who is respon­si­ble for this. And they will say it’s the Jews and the Zion­ists.’ One told me that around the begin­ning of Sep­tem­ber 2001, a tele­phone call, a very good friend of mine, told me, ‘You know Ahmed, then we will have 1933.’ And then of course, I knew. He said that the Amer­i­can peo­ple will wake up [as did] the Ger­man peo­ple [woke] up in 1933. For me, I still didn’t believe it. Now the more and more things go on, I see how Bush and all his experts, I mean Mr. Wol­fowitz, Mr. Per­le, Mr. Kissinger, Mr. Fein­gold, I say maybe there is some­thing to what my friends in Amer­i­ca told me. It is pos­si­ble now that things will go in that direc­tion. You know. In the 1990’s, when I was in Amer­i­ca , we were talk­ing about how to change Jew­ish rule in Amer­i­ca. For me, a Swiss, it was fas­ci­nat­ing. One of these young per­sons said, ‘You know, we may have many sym­pa­thiz­ers in the Amer­i­can Army, and if nec­es­sary the Amer­i­can Army will make a coup d’etat against the Zion­ist-Amer­i­can regime in Wash­ing­ton.’” (Ibid.; p. 237.)

4. Next, the pro­gram revis­its a point of infor­ma­tion dis­cussed in—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 378, 456, 535. In the spring of 2002, as the prepa­ra­tions for the Iraq war were under­way, Al Taqwa direc­tor Achmed Huber net­worked with oth­er Amer­i­can and Euro­pean fas­cists and far right­ists, includ­ing Gian­fran­co Fini, head of the Ital­ian Allean­za Nationale. Might the meet­ing have had some­thing to do with Iraq? Had the “Atlanti­cist” ori­en­ta­tion of the P‑2 milieu been super­seded by an anti‑U.S./Third Posi­tion ori­en­ta­tion in the Ital­ian fas­cist milieu? Did this meet­ing have any­thing to do with the feed­ing of false intel­li­gence to the US in order to lure the coun­try into a drain­ing, expen­sive and (ulti­mate­ly) fatal war with the Mus­lim pop­u­la­tion of the “Earth Island”? Was this meet­ing in keep­ing with the per­cep­tion dis­cussed by Huber in the quote above? Note in this regard, that Fini is cur­rent­ly the Ital­ian for­eign min­is­ter. Is it pos­si­ble that the man (Fini) who char­ac­ter­ized Mus­soli­ni as “the great­est states­man of the 20th cen­tu­ry” has not changed his stripes? Is it pos­si­ble that he was con­fer­ring with the oth­er Euro­pean fas­cist lead­ers in order to help lure the US into a trap in Iraq, with the results dis­cussed with his far-right Amer­i­can friends? (For more about the P‑2 milieu, the Sis­mi Ital­ian intel­li­gence ser­vice and the maneu­ver­ing around events in the Mid­dle East, see—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 535, 592, 595, 600.) “Per­haps the most recent remark­able sto­ry con­cern­ing Huber comes from a brief item in the Swiss tabloid Blick that in an April 26, 2002 arti­cle by Alexan­der Saut­ter that Huber was involved in a meet­ing of far-right lead­ers from Europe. A pho­to show­ing Huber with Jean Marie Le Pen accom­pa­nies the arti­cle. The Blick sto­ry (avail­able on the web) is as fol­lows: ‘Mon Pelerin VD: Chris­t­ian Cam­buzat, the pro­mot­er (Scharf­mach­er) of the right extrem­ist Jean-Marie Le Pen (73): The guru assem­bles togeth­er some of the top lead­ers of the Euro­pean right. On the idyl­lic Mont Pelerin, they debate their crude ideas. At his secret vis­it to a spa in Switzer­land, Le Pen hard­ly remained alone. Right­ist lead­ers from all over Europe trav­eled to meet the extrem­ist pres­i­den­tial can­di­date who was host­ed by Cam­buzat. Franz Schon­hu­ber (79). Founder of the Repub­li­can Par­ty in Ger­many and a for­mer mem­ber of the SS. He talked with Le Pen who con­sti­tutes togeth­er with Schon­hu­ber the ‘Front Nation­al’ Fac­tion in the Euro­pean par­lia­ment. Gian­fran­co Fini (50). Ital­ian post-fas­cist, Mus­soli­ni admir­er, and founder of the Alleanze Nationale. He also was at the meet­ing with Le Pen and Schon­hu­ber. Ahmed Huber (74). The Swiss is on the Bush Admin­is­tra­tion black­list . . . ‘I met le Pen at Mont Pelerin as he went to Chris­t­ian Cambuzat’s spa,’ Huber told Blick yes­ter­day. At the extrem­ist ren­dezvous an Amer­i­can far right politi­cian was also sup­posed to have tak­en part. [Note: the Amer­i­can is not fur­ther identified.—KC] Chris­t­ian Cam­buzat said that Le Pen (after the elec­tion) had again become the sharpest weapon of the ‘Front Nation­al’ because Le Pen changed his image from a ven­omous old man to a ‘kind­ly U.S. TV evan­ge­list.’ Proud­ly Cam­buzat brags, ‘With me Le Pen can relax well’ [from his polit­i­cal endeavors—KC]. And open­ly link up with new con­tacts. [Although the Blick sto­ry does not give details, Cam­buzat runs a spa for the very rich, the Lemanique de Revi­tal­i­sa­tion, inside a hotel on the famous Mont Pelerin.]’”

5. In a num­ber of past broad­casts, we have dis­cussed the fact that mem­bers of the bin Laden fam­i­ly were allowed to leave the U.S. after 9/11 with­out being prop­er­ly inter­ro­gat­ed. Some of them appear to have been involved with ter­ror­ist-relat­ed activ­i­ties. (For more about this flight, see—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 423, 460, 467.) This pro­gram dis­clos­es that the bin Laden fam­i­ly flight may have been char­tered by Osama bin Laden him­self! “Osama bin Laden may have char­tered a plane that car­ried his fam­i­ly mem­bers and Sau­di nation­als out of the Unit­ed States after the Sep­tem­ber 11, 2001 attacks, said FBI doc­u­ments released Wednes­day. The papers, obtained through the Free­dom of Infor­ma­tion Act, were made pub­lic by Judi­cial Watch, a Wash­ing­ton-based group that inves­ti­gates gov­ern­ment cor­rup­tion. One FBI doc­u­ment referred to a Ryan Air 727 air­plane that depart­ed Los Ange­les Inter­na­tion­al Air­port on Sep­tem­ber 19, 2001, and was said to have car­ried Sau­di nation­als out of the Unit­ed States. ‘The plane was char­tered either by the Sau­di Ara­bi­an roy­al fam­i­ly or Osama bin Laden,’ accord­ing to the doc­u­ment, which was among 224 pages post­ed online. The flight made stops in Orlan­do, Flori­da; Wash­ing­ton, DC; and Boston, Mass­a­chu­setts and even­tu­al­ly left its pas­sen­gers in Paris the fol­low­ing day. In all, the doc­u­ments detail six flights between Sep­tem­ber 14 and Sep­tem­ber 24 that evac­u­at­ed Sau­di nation­als and bin Laden fam­i­ly mem­bers, Judi­cial Watch said in a state­ment. ‘Incred­i­bly, not a sin­gle Sau­di nation­al nor any of the bin Laden fam­i­ly mem­bers pos­sessed any infor­ma­tion of inves­tiga­tive val­ue,’ Judi­cial Watch said. ‘These doc­u­ments con­tain numer­ous errors and incon­sis­ten­cies which call to ques­tion the thor­ough­ness of the FBI’s inves­ti­ga­tion of the Sau­di flights. . . . Mered­ith Dilib­er­to, an attor­ney with Judi­cial Watch, said that her group had seen a first ver­sion of the doc­u­ments in 2005, although the FBI had heav­i­ly redact­ed the texts to black out names, includ­ing all ref­er­ences to bin Laden. Nev­er­the­less, unedit­ed foot­notes in the texts allowed lawyers to deter­mine that bin Laden’s name had been redact­ed. They pressed the issue in court and in Novem­ber 2006, the FBI was ordered to re-release the doc­u­ments. Dilib­er­to said men­tion that ‘either’ bin Laden or Sau­di roy­als had char­tered the flight ‘real­ly threw us for a loop.’ ‘When you com­bine that with some of the fam­i­ly mem­bers not being inter­viewed, we found it very dis­turb­ing.’”

6. With a Demo­c­ra­t­ic con­gress in pow­er, the cul­pa­bil­i­ty of the Saud­is with inter­na­tion­al ter­ror­ism has not gone com­plete­ly unan­swered. Although it faces the threat of a veto by Pres­i­dent Bush, the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives vot­ed to cut off aid to Sau­di Ara­bia, because of that country’s vio­la­tions of human rights and their sup­port for ter­ror­ism. “The U.S. House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives vot­ed on Fri­day to pro­hib­it any aid to Sau­di Ara­bia as law­mak­ers accused the close ally of reli­gious intol­er­ance and bankrolling ter­ror­ist orga­ni­za­tions. The pro­hi­bi­tion, reflect­ing per­sis­tent ten­sions with the king­dom after the Sept. 11 attacks on the Unit­ed States in 2001, was attached to a for­eign aid fund­ing bill for next year that has not yet been debat­ed by the Sen­ate. . . .”

7. The Islamist links to the GOP may be bear­ing fruit. [For more about this link, see the pro­grams not­ed in para­graph #2.] The Bush admin­is­tra­tion is con­sid­er­ing the for­ma­tion of a work­ing rela­tion­ship with the Islam­o­fas­cist Mus­lim Broth­er­hood. (For more about the Broth­er­hood, see—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 343, 455, 473, 514, 537. For more about the Brotherhood’s eco­nom­ic agen­da, see—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 560, 561) “The Bush admin­is­tra­tion is qui­et­ly weigh­ing the prospect of reach­ing out to the par­ty that found­ed mod­ern polit­i­cal Islam, the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood. Still in its ear­ly stages and below the radar, the cur­rent Amer­i­can delib­er­a­tions and diplo­ma­cy with the orga­ni­za­tion, known in Ara­bic as Ikhwan, take on new sig­nif­i­cance in light of Hamas’s suc­cess­ful coup in Gaza last week. 8. By way of illus­trat­ing the fas­cist nature of the Broth­er­hood, con­sid­er the char­ter of Hamas, a Broth­er­hood off­shoot. The anti-Semi­tism expressed here has def­i­nite Euro­pean fas­cist over­tone. Note the ref­er­ences to the Jews being behind all wars and rev­o­lu­tions, con­trol­ling finance and media and the ref­er­ences to “Jew­ish con­trol” or gen­e­sis of the Freema­sons, the Rotary Club, etc. This is straight Nazi/fascist ide­ol­o­gy. Note also the ref­er­ences to the Pro­to­cols of the Elders of Zion. “ . . . For our strug­gle against the Jews is extreme­ly wide-rang­ing and grave, so much so that it will need all the loy­al efforts we can wield, to be fol­lowed by fur­ther steps and rein­forced by suc­ces­sive bat­tal­ions from the mul­ti­far­i­ous Arab and Islam­ic world, until the ene­mies are defeat­ed and Allah’s vic­to­ry pre­vails. …The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Mus­lims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Mus­lim! There is a Jew hid­ing behind me, come on and kill him!”

9. “The ene­mies have been schem­ing for a long time, and they have con­sol­i­dat­ed their schemes, in order to achieve what they have achieved. They took advan­tage of key ele­ments in unfold­ing events, and accu­mu­lat­ed a huge and influ­en­tial mate­r­i­al wealth which they put to the ser­vice of imple­ment­ing their dream. This wealth [per­mit­ted them to] take over con­trol of the world media such as news agen­cies, the press, pub­li­ca­tion hous­es, broad­cast­ing and the like. [They also used this] wealth to stir rev­o­lu­tions in var­i­ous parts of the globe in order to ful­fill their inter­ests and pick the fruits. They stood behind the French and the Com­mu­nist Rev­o­lu­tions and behind most of the rev­o­lu­tions we hear about here and there.” (Idem.)

10. “They also used the mon­ey to estab­lish clan­des­tine orga­ni­za­tions which are spread­ing around the world, in order to destroy soci­eties and car­ry out Zion­ist inter­ests. Such orga­ni­za­tions are: the Freema­sons, Rotary Clubs, Lions Clubs, B’nai B’rith and the like. All of them are destruc­tive spy­ing orga­ni­za­tions. They also used the mon­ey to take over con­trol of the Impe­ri­al­ist states and made them col­o­nize many coun­tries in order to exploit the wealth of those coun­tries and spread their cor­rup­tion there­in. As regards local and world wars, it has come to pass and no one objects, that they stood behind World War I, so as to wipe out the Islam­ic Caliphate. They col­lect­ed mate­r­i­al gains and took con­trol of many sources of wealth. They obtained the Bal­four Dec­la­ra­tion and estab­lished the League of Nations in order to rule the world by means of that orga­ni­za­tion. They also stood behind World War II, where they col­lect­ed immense ben­e­fits from trad­ing with war mate­ri­als and pre­pared for the estab­lish­ment of their state. They inspired the estab­lish­ment of the Unit­ed Nations and the Secu­ri­ty Coun­cil to replace the League of Nations, in order to rule the world by their inter­me­di­ary. There was no war that broke out any­where with­out their fin­ger­prints on it…Their scheme has been laid out in the Pro­to­cols of the Elders of Zion, and their present [con­duct] is the best proof of what is said there… With­in the cir­cle of the con­flict with world Zion­ism, the Hamas regards itself the spear­head and the avant-garde. It joins its efforts to all those who are active on the Pales­tin­ian scene, but more steps need to be tak­en by the Arab and Islam­ic peo­ples and Islam­ic asso­ci­a­tions through­out the Arab and Islam­ic world in order to make pos­si­ble the next round with the Jews, the mer­chants of war. . . .” (Idem.)

11. Next, the broad­cast revi­sists the web of cor­rup­tion and scan­dal sur­round­ing Sau­di Prince Ban­dar, a for­mer Ambas­sador to the Unit­ed States so close to the Bush fam­i­ly that he is some­times referred to as “Ban­dar Bush.” A recent British aero­space scan­dal involv­ing the alleged place­ment of bil­lions of dol­lars in bribes to Ban­dar has refo­cused jour­nal­is­tic atten­tion on the Prince and his shenani­gans. If Ban­dar and his accounts at Rig­gs Bank were to be ful­ly inves­ti­gat­ed, many cans of worms would be revealed. Ban­dar had long used the bank to pro­vide finances for Sau­di-assist­ed US covert oper­a­tions. In addi­tion, Bandar’s wife was pro­vid­ing finan­cial sup­port to the fam­i­lies of the two of the 9/11 hijack­ers. Read more on the Ban­dar-Rig­gs rela­tion­ship.) “Hun­dreds of pages of con­fi­den­tial U.S. bank records may be the miss­ing link in illu­mi­nat­ing new alle­ga­tions that a major British arms con­trac­tor fun­neled up to $2 bil­lion in ques­tion­able pay­ments to Sau­di Prince Ban­dar bin Sul­tan. The BBC and Guardian news­pa­per report­ed last week that BAE Sys­tems made “secret” pay­ments to a Wash­ing­ton, D.C., bank account con­trolled by Ban­dar, the long­time Sau­di ambas­sador to the Unit­ed States who is now the king­dom’s nation­al-secu­ri­ty advis­er. The pay­ments are alleged to be part of an $80 bil­lion mil­i­tary-air­craft deal between Lon­don and Riyadh. Last week British Prime Min­is­ter Tony Blair acknowl­edged that his gov­ern­ment shut down an inves­ti­ga­tion into the pay­ments, in part because it could have led to the “com­plete wreck­age” of Britain’s “vital strate­gic rela­tion­ship” with Sau­di Ara­bia. Before the U.K. closed the inquiry, British inves­ti­ga­tors con­tact­ed the U.S. Jus­tice Depart­ment seek­ing access to records relat­ed to the Sau­di bank accounts. Many of these records were first obtained by NEWSWEEK in 2004. At the time, the mag­a­zine report­ed that fed­er­al reg­u­la­tors had been alert­ed to mil­lions of dol­lars in ‘sus­pi­cious’ activ­i­ties in Sau­di accounts at the now-defunct Rig­gs Bank. . . .”

12. In Mr. Emory’s many vis­its with Daniel Hop­sick­er, we have exam­ined the con­nec­tions between Islamist ter­ror and orga­nized crime activ­i­ties. Appar­ent­ly, hashish traf­fick­ing can be added to the crim­i­nal activ­i­ties used to gen­er­ate funds for Islamist ter­ror­ists. “Cannabis smok­ers are unwit­ting­ly fund­ing Islamist extrem­ists linked to ter­ror attacks in Spain, Moroc­co and Alge­ria, accord­ing to a joint inves­ti­ga­tion by the Span­ish and French secret ser­vices. The find­ing will be seized on both by cam­paign­ers for a harsh­er clam­p­down on cannabis and by those who argue that legal­iza­tion is the only way to end a pet­ty deal­ing trend that is drag­ging grow­ing num­bers of teenagers into crime. The inves­ti­ga­tion by the Cen­tro Nacional de Inteligen­cia and the Ren­seigne­ments Gen­er­aux was launched after Span­ish police found that the Islamists behind the March 2004 bomb­ings in Madrid bought their explo­sives from for­mer min­ers in return for blocks of hashish. The bomb­ings claimed 191 lives. . . .”

In our vis­its with Daniel Hop­sick­er, we have seen how some of the 9/11 hijack­ers infil­trat­ed into the Unit­ed States through the intel­li­gence community’s con­trolled drug-smug­gling net­works. (For more about this, see—among oth­er programs—FTR#’s 482, 483, 484.) The most famous of the CIA drug air­lines was Air Amer­i­ca. It was suc­ceed­ed by, among oth­er enti­ties, Ever­green Air. “In the end, Ocean­side fin­ished sec­ond in the bid­ding, beat­en by Ever­green Inter­na­tion­al Avi­a­tion Inc. ‘The issue turned into a moot point,’ Rodee recalled, ‘as Delford Smith of Ever­green Air­lines – the CIA’s (con­tract) air­line that replaced Air Amer­i­ca of the Viet­nam era – worked an insid­er deal with the Aero Club of SoCal (the Goose’s own­er) and came out as the first choice on their list.’ Not sur­pris­ing­ly, McMin­nville, Ore., Ever­green’s head­quar­ters in the wine coun­try 35 miles south­west of Port­land, wel­comed the Goose with open arms. . . .”

Ever­green was the employ­er of Joseph Defre­itas, a sus­pect in an alleged plot to wreak hav­oc in New York City by blow­ing up jet fuel lines from Kennedy air­port. “Defre­itas was hired by a car­go trans­porta­tion com­pa­ny at Kennedy Air­port, Watts said. Doc­u­ments show he was employed as a “trainee super­vi­sor” in 2001 with Ever­green Eagle, a sub­sidiary of Ore­gon-based Ever­green Inter­na­tion­al Avi­a­tion. Offi­cials there declined to com­ment. . . .”

The “cor­po­ratist” eco­nom­ic phi­los­o­phy of the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood may well have been passed on to its off­spring Hamas. “The Islamist group Hamas said it will not hin­der plans to drill for nat­ur­al gas off the shores of the Gaza Strip after it took con­trol of the coastal ter­ri­to­ry a week ago, a Hamas offi­cial said on Fri­day. Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas offi­cial, said the group would not block an agree­ment between British gas pro­duc­er BG Group Plc and the Pales­tin­ian Author­i­ty to drill for reserves dis­cov­ered off Gaza­’a coast in 2000. . . .”

In the con­clud­ing pas­sage of the pro­gram, Mr. Emory returned to The Ene­my of My Ene­my, read­ing about the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood and Mus­lim Arab sup­port for the Axis in World War II. “ . . . The gen­e­sis of coop­er­a­tion between mil­i­tant Islam and the extreme right can be traced back to the ear­ly years of the Third Reich. Dur­ing World War II, much of the Islam­ic world sym­pa­thized with the Axis alliance. Mem­bers of the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood would often say prayers for an Axis vic­to­ry dur­ing their meet­ings. More­over, some Mus­lims went so far as to fan­ta­size over puta­tive Islam­ic affini­ties of fas­cist lead­ers. For exam­ple, rumors abound­ed that Ben­i­to Mus­soli­ni was an Egypt­ian Mus­lim whose real name was Musa Nili (Moses of the Nile) and that Adolf Hitler too had secret­ly con­vert­ed to Islam and bore the name Hay­der, or ‘the brave one.’ . . .”
