COMMENT: On Sat­ur­day, June 13^th, it was Dave’s plea­sure to host a Zoom meet­ing with Brad, a long-time lis­ten­er and researcher. The pri­ma­ry focal point of the pre­sen­ta­tion was the book Trea­son for My Dai­ly Bread by Mikhail Lebe­dev. Is the book fact or fic­tion? Did the Stan­ton fam­i­ly respond to pres­sure from the con­sum­mate­ly pow­er­ful and dead­ly Bor­mann orga­ni­za­tion?

The book alleges that Reich­sleit­er Mar­tin Bor­mann played a cen­tral role in the assas­si­na­tion of Pres­i­dent Kennedy.

Alleged by the fam­i­ly of the orig­i­nal edi­tor to be a work of “faction”—that is a nov­el based close­ly on facts as they could be deter­mined, the book sells for $8,000.00 on Abe Books!

Pre­vi­ous­ly, the book was described as a gen­uine man­u­script and (very pos­si­bly) fac­tu­al. Arti­cles on Wikipedia.com and in The Guardian treat­ed the book as prob­a­ble fact.

Brad ana­lyzes the Stan­ton family’s post, the lit­er­ary career of edi­tor William Stan­ton (alleged by his descen­dants to have writ­ten the book) and the con­tra­dic­tions in the offi­cial sto­ry upon which the asser­tions by the Stan­tons are based.

Brad syn­op­sizes the book com­par­ing the text against the back­ground of key points in Antho­ny Sum­mers’ 1980 book Con­spir­a­cy, as well as parts of Jim DiEugenio’s Des­tiny Betrayed.
