COMMENT: In the latest Patreon talks–three one-hour talks per week–Dave highlights comparisons between the militarist education given to Japanese boys during the pre-World War II period and the military/entertainment complex described in FTR#‘s 1218 [9]-1221 [10].

Much recent discussion has been devoted to analysis of the drone killing of Ayman Al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden’s former right-hand man.

Noting that Mohammed Al-Zawahiri–Ayman’s brother–was a key aide to former Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi, a key Muslim Brotherhood leader and a liaison between the Egyptian Brotherhood and al-Qaeda, Mr. Emory reviews information about the probable role of Egyptian Brotherhood personnel in the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya.

That event became a major GOP political football in the run-up to the 2016 Presidential election, with James Comey’s last-minute re-opening of the “investigation” into Hillary Clinton’s e‑mails having helped secure the electoral vote for Donald Trump.

In addition, we weigh the possible impact of Al-Zawahiri’s killing on the 2022 U.S. midterm elections and U.S./Pakistani/Chinese relations.
