COMMENT: On Sat­ur­day, April 4, it was Mr. Emory’s plea­sure to host John, a Sil­i­con Val­ley AI pro­fes­sion­al. John dis­cussed far-rang­ing top­ics relat­ing to AI, includ­ing how they oper­ate, what they can­not do, what they might be able to do, how quan­tum com­put­ing might affect their devel­op­ment and appli­ca­tion, what the inter­ests that con­trol them might be expect­ed to shape their future and how “democ­ra­ti­za­tion” of AI’s might be pos­si­ble, giv­en their ubiq­ui­tous nature.
