COMMENT: In a pre­vi­ous post, we not­ed that the mil­i­tary is dom­i­nant in Oper­a­tion Warp Speed, the Trump/U.S. vac­ci­na­tion pro­gram for Covid-19.

NB: As stat­ed in pre­vi­ous posts, com­ments and pro­grams, Mr. Emory’s obser­va­tion that the mRNA vac­cines alter the DNA of the recip­i­ent is in error. Rather than chang­ing the cell by alter­ing the DNA, the mRNA vac­cines hijack the cel­lu­lar machin­ery direct­ly in order to pro­duce the effect. Nonethe­less, experts–such as those cit­ed in the rep­utable Stat News–have warned about “nasty” side effects of intro­duc­ing RNA into recip­i­ents’ cells.

Sup­ple­ment­ing that post, we note that vac­ci­na­tion may be manda­to­ry for employ­ment. The vac­cine may be manda­to­ry for air trav­el and oth­er every­day activ­i­ties, as well.

Employ­ers can require work­ers to get a Covid-19 vac­cine and bar them from the work­place if they refuse, the fed­er­al gov­ern­ment said in guide­lines issued last week.

Pub­lic health experts see employ­ers as play­ing an impor­tant role in vac­ci­nat­ing enough peo­ple to reach herd immu­ni­ty and get a han­dle on a pan­dem­ic that has killed more than 300,000 Amer­i­cans. Wide­spread coro­n­avirus vac­ci­na­tions would keep peo­ple from dying, restart the econ­o­my and ush­er a return to some form of nor­mal­cy, experts say.

Employ­ers had been wait­ing for guid­ance from the U.S. Equal Employ­ment Oppor­tu­ni­ty Com­mis­sion, the agency that enforces laws against work­place dis­crim­i­na­tion, because requir­ing employ­ees to be test­ed for the coro­n­avirus touch­es on thorny med­ical and pri­va­cy . . . .

Among all the tools that health agen­cies have devel­oped over the years to fight epi­demics, at least one remained a con­stant for more than a cen­tu­ry, paper vac­ci­na­tion cer­tifi­cates. . . .

. . . . But now, just as the Unit­ed States is prepar­ing to dis­trib­ute the first vac­cines for the virus, the entry tick­et to the nation’s reopen­ing is set to come large­ly in the form of a dig­i­tal health cre­den­tial. In the com­ing weeks, major air­lines, includ­ing Unit­ed, Jet­Blue and Lufthansa plan to intro­duce a health pass­port app, called Com­mon­Pass, that aims to ver­i­fy pas­sen­gers’ virus test results and soon, vac­ci­na­tions. The app will then issue con­fir­ma­tion codes enabling pas­sen­gers to board cer­tain inter­na­tion­al flights. It is just the start of a push for dig­i­tal Covid-19 cre­den­tials that could soon be embraced by employ­ers, schools, sum­mer camps and enter­tain­ment venues.

“This is like­ly to be a new nor­mal need that we’re going to have to deal with to con­trol and con­tain this pan­dem­ic,” said Dr. Brad Perkins, the chief med­ical offi­cer at the Com­mons Project Foun­da­tion, a non­prof­it in Gene­va that devel­oped the Com­mon­Pass app. . . .
