Memorial Day Weekend Broadcast: Sunday, May 26th and Monday, May 27th

On Sunday 5/26/2019 from 11 a.m. (Pacific Time) until 7pm, and on Monday, 5/27/2019 from 10am until 7pm, KFJC-FM will feature hours of programming documenting the profound connections of U.S. industry and finance to the fascist powers of World War II. In the decades since the end of the Second World War, much has been written about the war and fascism, the driving force behind the aggression that precipitated that conflict. Unfortunately, much of what has been said and written has failed to identify and analyze the causes, nature and methodology of fascism—German National Socialism or “Nazism” in particular. A deeper, more accurate analysis was presented in published literature, particularly volumes published during, or in the immediate aftermath of, the Second World War. . . . . Fascism (Nazism in particular) was an outgrowth of globalization and the construction of international monopolies (cartels). Key to understanding this phenomenon is analysis of the Webb-Pomerene act, legislated near the end of the First World War. A loophole in the Anti-trust legislation of 1914, it effectively legalized the formation of cartels—international monopolies—for firms that were barred from domestic monopolistic practices. Decrying what they viewed as excessive and restrictive “regulation” here in the United States, U.S.-based transnational corporations invested their profits from the industrial boom of the 1920’s abroad, primarily in Japan and Germany. This process might well be viewed as the real beginning of what is now known as “globalization.” This reinvestment of the profits of the American industrial boom of the 1920’s in Japanese and German strategic heavy industry was the capital that drove the engines of conquest that subdued both Europe and Asia during World War II. On Sunday, we will highlight the American-German industrial axis and its various manifestations. On Monday, we will explore the American-Japanese industrial axis.

FTR #920 The Trumpenkampfverbande, Part 3: The Underground Reich Emerges Into Plain View

QUICK: How many Presidential candidates can you name who kept a book of Adolf Hitler’s speeches by their bedside? Donald Trump does. For many years, what Mr. Emory terms “The Underground Reich” has been a fundamental point of discussion and analysis in these broadcasts and posts. In the third program analyzing the Donald Trump campaign, we examine the “Trumpenkampfverbande,” its political antecedents and adherents. Exemplifying, and networking with, generations of fascists and fascist organizations, the Trumpenkampfverbande embodies the emergence of the Underground Reich into plain view. A signature element of Trump’s campaign is his resuscitation of the “America First” slogan and concept, a manifestation both of his thinly-veiled appeal to Nazi and white supremacist elements and his willingness to cede dominance over world affairs to a German-dominated “third power bloc.” The America First concept mobilizes powerful feelings among those feeling overwhelmed and left behind by political and economic developments globally and in the United States. We note that the “original” America First was financed by Nazi Germany. Trump’s invocation of America First exemplifies the nature of his political heritage and allegiances. One of his top advisers Joseph E. Schmitz, “obsessed with all things German” and, according to associates, someone who “fired the Jews” (from the Pentagon) and manifested Holocaust denial. This is not atypical of “Team Trump.” One of the most important figures in mainstreaming “alt right” (i.e. Nazi, white nationalist and anti-Semitic) attitudes has been Breitbart’s Steve Bannon, now essentially running the Trump campaign. Trump and his campaign have a habit of re-tweeting information from “alt right” websites and message boards. Of primary significance in analyzing Trump concerns the main financial backer of his real estate projects–Deutsche Bank. In addition to the fact that this places a potential President in the position of owing upwards of $100 million to an institution that has openly defied U.S. regulatory positions, Deutsche Bank is a primary element of the remarkable and deadly Bormann capital network, about which we speak so often. Program Highlights Include: Analysis of the possibility that Trump’s father was in the Ku Klux Klan; review of Trump’s association with former Axis spy Norman Vincent Peale; review of Trump’s counsel–Senator Joe McCarthy aide Roy Cohn; Trump’s additional financial backing from George Soros, who got his start in business “Aryanizing” Jewish property during the Holocaust; Trump’s tweeting of a campaign ad featuring Waffen SS-clad World War II re-enactors; The enthusiastic suppoprt Trump has received from David Duke.

More Media Discussion of Emerging Fascism in America

A review of Mike Lofgren’s recent book “The Deep State” on Consortium News adds to the growing body of media commentary highlighting the onset of fascism in America. “I also argue that this work is being been accompanied by a gradual emergence of a peculiarly American amalgam of fascist, corporatist and neoliberal organizational ideologies. . . . there are growing signs that the emerging American political economy combines many elements of classical fascism and corporatism with neoliberal laissez-faire economics into something that is new and peculiarly American — a political economy that exhibits fascist tendencies, but unlike classical fascism, subordinates the state to neoliberal corporatist interests, while it exploits many of fascism’s authoritarian organizing principles to stabilize the emerging status quo.” All of the contents of this website as of 12/19/2014–Dave Emory’s 35+ years of research and broadcasting–as well as hours of videotaped lectures are available on a 32GB flash drive. Dave offers his programs and articles for free–your support is very much appreciated.

FTR #883 The Times They Have A’ Changed: JFK and the Steel Crisis of 1962

On the cusp of a new year–a Presidential election year at that–analysis of President Kennedy’s handling of the steel crisis of 1962 illustrates just how far we have descended in the 50-plus years since his death. After brokering an agreement between the United Steelworkers union and United States Steel aimed at holding down inflation, Kennedy was blindsided by United States Steel, acting in concert with other large steelmakers and, behind them, the luminaries of corporate America. Whereas the union rank and file embraced a contract encompassing lower wages, U.S. Steel promptly announced a 3.5 percent price increase. Kennedy used the full force of the Federal government against U.S. Steel, forcing rollback of the price increase. This earned Kennedy the hatred of big business. Program Highlights Include: Henry Luce’s “Fortune” magazine’s publication of an editorial foreshadowing JFK’s murder; big business’ view of JFK as a quasi-communist; the vigorous action taken by Robert Kennedy’s Department of Justice against the big steel makers; JFK’s public excoriation of the leaders of Big Steel as enemies of the people; JFK’s re-direction of defense contracts to smaller steel firms that had not raised prices.

FTR #838 Interview (#1) with Peter Levenda about “The Hitler Legacy”

The first of several interviews with Peter Levenda about his important new book “The Hitler Legacy,” this program highlights the evolution of elements which figure into the development of the post-war Nazi underground. At the end of the First World War, the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia and abortive Marxist uprisings in Germany and elsewhere in Europe infused the power elite in the U.S. with a paranoid ideological terror of a global “Jewish-Marxist” conspiracy. Combined with fear of Catholic and Jewish immigrants and their effect on American society, this ideological paranoia fused with a social Darwinism that found its expression in eugenics–a pseudo-intellectual doctrine that sought the promotion of “desirable” social and ethnic types and the suppression and/or elimination of “inferior” racial types. Seeing Germany as the point element in the struggle against world Marxism, individuals and political parties sought to ally with German fascists to bring fascism to the U.S. This fascist Fifth Column included political groups ranging from the Ku Klux Klan to the Silver Shirts of William Dudley Pelley, as well as the prototypical right-wing talk show host Father Charles Coughlin, “the Radio Priest.” Coughlin’s efforts were subsidized by Third Reich intelligence. Financed by financiers and industrialists who supported fascism, this Fifth Column attempted to kill and/or overthrow FDR on several occasions. In the Middle East, the concept of global jihad was developed by German archaelogist Max von Oppenheim during the First World War. Envisioning the world’s Muslims as proxy warriors against the Entente Powers of Britain, France and Russia, von Oppenheim created the template for contemporary Islamic fascism and jihadism. Following the division of the former Ottoman Empire by Britain and France after World War I, the “Arab Street” began manifesting belief in an international global conspiracy involving Jews and the European colonial powers that resonated with the American power elite’s idological anxieties.

FTR #831 The Elderly “Wouldn’t Be Fucking Helpless if You Weren’t Sending them Fucking Checks to Sit on their Ass and Lay in Hospitals all Day”: The GOP’s Assault on Social Security

The title of the program is a verbatim quote from Edward Snowden–the Peach Fuzz Fascist–in 2009. The GOP-controlled 114th Congress is attempting to implement Snowden’s views. In addition to highlighting Snowden’s ultra-reactionary views about abolishing Social Security and restoring the gold standard, the broadcast sets forth the GOP’s disingenuous statements about the Social Security disability program, exemplified by Rand Paul’s bald-faced lies about the nature of the program. After chronicling the GOP’s 80-year war on Social Security, going back to the early days of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s first term, the broadcast reviews the 1934 coup attempt by powerful, fascist industrial and financial interests. Those same plotters supported Mussolini’s “corporate state” and Hitler’s eugenics program, aimed at eliminating “useless bread gobblers.” Like Snowden, the 1934 coup plotters wanted to eliminate Social Security and restore the gold standard.

Rare, Mainstream Press Mention of U.S. Industrial Links to the Third Reich

It is comparatively rare to see articles in the mainstream press mentioning the profound support for Nazi Germany among American industrialists, financiers and political elite. A rare instance is a recent Daily Mail article from the UK. In addition to discussing the links between the Thyssen industrial empire and the Bush family, the broadcast underscores I.G. Farben’s decisive role in the German war economy and its links to the largest American corporations.

FTR #771 The Adventures of Eddie the Friendly Spook, Part 13: Beware of Libertarians Bearing Gifts (1934 Coup Attempt Redux)

Summing up his political outlook, Snowden wrote that the elderly ‘wouldn’t be fucking helpless if you weren’t sending them fucking checks to sit on their ass and lay in hospitals all day.’ The forces for which he fronts are: ” . . . rooted in a theory that, in James Madison’s words, would “speedily put an end to the Union itself.”

Neutralizing the New Deal? Destroying the United States? Neo-Secessionism and the Peach Fuzz Fascist

A right-wing libertarian political milieu is working to have states cut-off electricity to the NSA. As the authors of the story note: “The bill is rooted in a theory that, in James Madison’s words, would “speedily put an end to the Union itself.” More immediately, it could empower conservative state lawmakers to cut off Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security, to frustrate civil rights enforcement or even to prevent federal law enforcement from investigating criminals.” The sponsor–the Tenth Amendment Center–heavily overlaps elements associated with the League of the South and the neo-Confederate movement, themselves inextricably linked with the Ludwig von Mises Institute, the “Paulistinian Libertarian Organization” and The Peach Fuzz Fascist himself [Snowden].

Telling It Like It Is: Texas Tea Party Activist Articulates the Movement’s Fascist Ideology

The Tea Party folks may seem new to some. Other than the name, the organization is just a reworking of the fascisti of Mussolini, advocating the values of The Corporate State under the guise of populism. A Texas Tea Party leader has spilled the beans, explicitly articulating the classical fascism of the Tea Party.
