Hashing Out Bitcoin Ownership

In our ongo­ing cri­tique of Bit­coin, we’ve not­ed that it appears to be an “op,” exe­cut­ed by Siemens spin­off Lan­tiq, which was cap­i­tal­ized by Gold­en Gate Cap­i­tal (staffed by alum­ni of Bain Cap­i­tal, Mitt Rom­ney’s firm.) In a reprise of a pre­vi­ous and appar­ent­ly ongo­ing vul­ner­a­bil­i­ty of Bit­coin, the pos­si­bil­i­ty of an “Armaged­don” in the Bit­coin world pro­duced by con­cen­tra­tion of own­er­ship looms. Once again, the GHash.io min­ing pool is at the cen­ter of the plot. Because it had gar­nered 50% of the Bit­coin mar­ket, it could “dou­ble-sell” coins and com­pro­mise the integri­ty of the entire net­work.

This pro­gram fea­tures the work of Eric John­son, who has writ­ten an impor­tant, per­haps defin­i­tive, piece on the counter-cul­ture fas­cist pro­pa­gan­da film Thrive. The advance of fas­cism fea­tures a bur­geon­ing array of media and orga­ni­za­tion­al phe­nom­e­na that direct peo­ple of more “progressive”–even “hip” ori­en­ta­tion in the direc­tion of big­otry and right-wing total­i­tar­i­an­ism. Heav­i­ly over­lap­ping the “Truther” milieu, this film fea­tures the work of John Birch Soci­ety vet­er­an G. Edward Grif­fin, Nazi apol­o­gist Eustance Mullins, as well as the ide­ol­o­gy of Aus­tri­an School of eco­nom­ics lynch­pin Lud­wig von Mis­es. The lat­ter’s phi­los­o­phy is the foun­da­tion of the ide­ol­o­gy of the Edward Snow­den and Wik­iLeaks milieu, in addi­tion to pro-slav­ery advo­cates such as the League of the South. The film also weaves the “rep­til­lian shape shifter” views of David Icke. All of the ide­olo­gies and the view­points of some gen­uine pro­gres­sives are baked into an over­all anti-Semit­ic con­fec­tion.

If you thought that cam­paign finance had become a sticky wick­et in the wake of the Supreme Court’s Cit­i­zens Unit­ed and McCutcheon deci­sions, you might be bit­ter­ly amused by the lat­est devel­op­ment in the lubri­ca­tion of the wheels of democ­ra­cy. The Fed­er­al Elec­tion Com­mis­sion has giv­en the nod to accept­ing Bit­coins as cam­paign con­tri­bu­tions. Fans of Cit­i­zens Unit­ed and McCutcheon will be thrilled to know that the top tenth of one per­cent of Bit­coin own­ers con­trol 50% of the total of the cur­ren­cy in exis­tence.

A horrifying–though predictable–story from the Dai­ly Mail illus­trates the moral, prac­ti­cal and philo­soph­i­cal bank­rupt­cy of lib­er­tar­i­an phi­los­o­phy. Kid­die porn freaks (with an appar­ent sadis­tic bent) have been using Bit­coin to finance online videos with the chil­dren being tor­tured with lit cig­a­rettes. The prop­a­ga­tion of activ­i­ties such as the one described in the sto­ry below under­scores the deprav­i­ty of many of those who argue for an unmon­i­tored inter­net, on which “any­thing goes.”

Ger­man and Brazil­ian dri­ves to update and pop­u­lar­ize their IT sec­tors, sup­pos­ed­ly in response to Edward Snow­den’s “dis­clo­sures,” can be safe­ly assumed to have been antic­i­pat­ed quite some time ago. The Snow­den “psy-op” is almost cer­tain­ly a device for pro­pa­gan­diz­ing on behalf of the German/Brazilian dri­ve, which con­sti­tutes eco­nom­ic war­fare under the cir­cum­stances. Snow­den’s Russ­ian sojourn appears to have been arranged by Wik­iLeaks, which also appears to have arranged his flight to Chi­na from Hawaii. Throw­ing Oba­ma’s “reboot” with Rus­sia under the bus, the Snow­den “op” is prob­a­bly part of the broad­er oper­a­tion that brought the Nazi heirs to the OUN/B to pow­er in the Ukraine.

The fourth of our pro­grams about Bit­coin, this broad­cast fur­ther doc­u­ments the pre­dictable chaos and malfea­sance result­ing from a valu­able mon­e­tary enti­ty that is total­ly unreg­u­lat­ed and open to all of the vagueries and crim­i­nal­i­ty to which inter­net busi­ness is sub­ject. Much of the pro­gram focus­es on the col­lapse of the Mt. Gox exchange in Japan, one of the world’s largest Bit­coin mar­ket­places. Blamed ini­tial­ly on hack­ers, it may well be that the oper­a­tors of Mt. Gox were engaged in delib­er­ate malfea­sance, as were anony­mous hack­ers who called atten­tion to the sins of the com­pa­ny’s man­age­ment. The pro­gram notes that the con­cen­tra­tion of own­er­ship in the Bit­coin com­mu­ni­ty is even more pro­nounced than it is in the reg­u­lar econ­o­my.

A right-wing lib­er­tar­i­an polit­i­cal milieu is work­ing to have states cut-off elec­tric­i­ty to the NSA. As the authors of the sto­ry note: “The bill is root­ed in a the­ory that, in James Madison’s words, would “speed­ily put an end to the Union itself.” More imme­di­ately, it could empow­er con­ser­v­a­tive state law­mak­ers to cut off Medicare, Med­ic­aid or Social Secu­rity, to frus­trate civ­il rights enforce­ment or even to pre­vent fed­eral law enforce­ment from inves­ti­gat­ing crim­i­nals.” The sponsor–the Tenth Amend­ment Center–heavily over­laps ele­ments asso­ci­at­ed with the League of the South and the neo-Con­fed­er­ate move­ment, them­selves inex­tri­ca­bly linked with the Lud­wig von Mis­es Insti­tute, the “Paulis­tin­ian Lib­er­tar­i­an Orga­ni­za­tion” and The Peach Fuzz Fas­cist him­self [Snow­den].


Slavery in Greece?

In our dis­cus­sion of the “op” exe­cut­ed by Eddie the Friend­ly Spook, we have not­ed that the polit­i­cal forces embod­ied in the “Peach Fuzz Fas­cist” (Snow­den) favor the seces­sion of the South, believe the Con­fed­er­a­cy was right, and are in favor of slav­ery, past, present and future. A very omi­nous pro­pos­al has been float­ed by the Greek gov­ern­ment. Not only does it sug­gest the pos­si­bil­i­ty that the stag­ger­ing unem­ploy­ment rate among Greek youth be solved by “unpaid” employ­ment, but floats the pos­si­bil­i­ty that job­less young peo­ple be shipped abroad!

Excerpt­ing some of Snow­den’s 2009 online musings–crafted dur­ing the same time peri­od in which he decid­ed to leak NSA documents–gives us insight into his true nature. We’ve men­tioned Snow­den’s embrace of the gold stan­dard, belief that we should elim­i­nate Social Secu­ri­ty and deep affin­i­ty for Ron Paul. Per­haps exam­in­ing his actu­al pro­nounce­ments will prove edu­ca­tion­al. Snow­den [at right] is a nasty lit­tle fas­cist. Peo­ple should care­ful­ly con­sid­er the rest of his behav­ior in the con­text of his ide­o­log­i­cal state­ments.
