Meet the TheoBros: MAGA’s ‘Aristopopulist’ Plans for an AI-Powered Post-Democratic Future

Meet the Theo­Bros. They’re theocrats, but they don’t live in the dark ages. On the con­trary, some of them are among the biggest tech entre­pre­neurs on the plan­et. Titans of indus­try. Oth­ers are indeed reac­tionary preach­ers with a desire to turn back the clock at least a cen­tu­ry or two. It’s an umbrel­la the­ol­o­gy. Although less a the­ol­o­gy and more a polit­i­cal move­ment built more around a wor­ship, and under­stand­ing of, pow­er more than any real val­ue sys­tem. And it’s a move­ment that is only acquir­ing more and more of pow­er thanks to this net­work’s close work­ing rela­tion­ship with the cur­rent White House. It’s ‘the Dark Ages meets tech­no-fan­ta­sist future’ walk­ing the halls of pow­er today.

The Theo­Bros aren’t real­ly a new net­work. More of a alliance of already well estab­lished inter­ests con­geal­ing around a shared vision for the future. A vision cen­tered around the promise of cre­at­ing break­away soci­eties. More specif­i­cal­ly, break­away author­i­tar­i­an-led soci­eties, where Sil­i­con Val­ley fas­cists and theocrats are free to run things as they see fit. It could be seen as the next step in the ‘Seast­eading’ ini­tia­tive Peter Thiel launched rough­ly two decades ago, or the relat­ed ‘Char­ter Cities’ ini­tia­tives, except now they’re refer­ring to the ‘Net­work State’, a con­cept built around the ide­al of build­ing both vir­tu­al and phys­i­cal ‘anti-woke’ com­mu­ni­ties that, even­tu­al­ly, col­lec­tive­ly have enough real eco­nom­ic and polit­i­cal pow­er to replace the cur­rent US demo­c­ra­t­ic sys­tem. Numer­ous fig­ures aligned with the pow­er­ful theo­crat­ic Coun­cil for Nation­al Pol­i­cy (CNP) are part of this move­ment along with Sil­i­con Val­ley tech titans like Peter Thiel, Marc Andreessen, and Bal­a­ji Srini­vasan, who envi­sions a future San Fran­cis­co run by and for tech firms, with spe­cial zones in the city where only ‘loy­al’ cit­i­zens are allowed to roam. Theo­Bros’ ven­ture cap­i­tal firms like 1789 Cap­i­tal and New Found­ing are rais­ing bil­lions of dol­lars to invest in not just advance tech­nol­o­gy and AI, but also cre­ate theo­crat­ic white Chris­t­ian Nation­al­ist polit­i­cal enclaves like the High­land Rim Project in Jack­son Coun­ty, Ten­nessee. And when it comes to pow­er­ing the ener­gy-inten­sive economies of the future (pos­si­bly break­away Net­work State economies), com­pa­nies like Valar Atom­ics are promis­ing to pro­vide the next-gen­er­a­tion mod­u­lar nuclear pow­er that can pro­vide data cen­ters with all the scal­able ener­gy they need. That’s the promise of a com­pa­ny found­ed by a twen­ty-some­thing high-school dropout who also hap­pens to be an acolyte of Doug Wil­son, the MAGA-aligned neo-Con­fed­er­ate Domin­ion­ist preach­er cur­rent expand­ing his influ­ence in Wash­ing­ton DC. As we’ll see, Valar Atom­ics is already lead­ing the next-gen­er­a­tion nuclear pow­er tech­nol­o­gy race, thanks to both mas­sive ‘Theo­Bros’ invest­ments but also a Trump admin­is­tra­tion that has made the devel­op­ment of next-gen­er­a­tion nuclear pow­er a major pri­or­i­ty. A Valar Atom­ics is just one exam­ple of a grow­ing array of major tech­nol­o­gy firms owned and oper­at­ed by fig­ures aligned with the Theo­Bros agen­da. An agen­da that appears to be a real-world man­i­fes­ta­tion of Peter Thiel’s bizarre the­ol­o­gy that views any reg­u­la­tion of tech­nol­o­gy as a con­tem­po­rary man­i­fes­ta­tion of the Antichrist. It’s the post-Trump/­post-democ­ra­cy vision from the same fusion of oli­garchs and theocrats we’ve long seen ani­mat­ing the MAGA agen­da and it’s not real­ly new, but more the next step in the path towards fas­cism the US has long been trav­el­ing.

The CNP’s Satanic Fellow Travelers: the Synergistic Rise of Accelerationist Satanic Terror and the neo-Confederate Theocrats

Nazi ter­ror­ism isn’t like it was a gen­er­a­tion ago. It’s worse. Accel­er­a­tionism is the theme of the day and has been for years. But that was­n’t always the case. James Mason’s Siege could have fall­en into obscu­ri­ty. Instead, it has become the tem­plate for the next gen­er­a­tion of online Nazi extrem­ists, with the Order of Nine Angles (O9A) Satan­ic strains of accel­er­a­tionism becom­ing par­tic­u­lar­ly pop­u­lar. Where­as Chris­t­ian Iden­ti­ty white suprema­cy was the expect­ed form of Nazi ter­ror in the 1990s from groups like the Aryan Nations, today an attack is far more like­ly to be car­ried about by a fol­low­er of Atom­waf­fen who has been indoc­tri­nat­ed with Satan­ic Nazi tracts like Iron Gates or Blue­bird that serve of con­tem­po­rary analogs to the Turn­er Diaries or Ser­pen­t’s Walk. That did­n’t just hap­pen. It turns out ‘main­stream’ white nation­al­ists set out to pop­u­lar­ize of accel­er­a­tionism over two decades ago, repub­lish­ing Siege and focus­ing atten­tion on fig­ures like O9A leader David Myatt and Hin­du-fas­cist Sav­i­t­ra Devi. And then, in 2003, Joshua Caleb Sut­ter, a young leader in the Aryan Nations, was sent to prison on charges relat­ed to a plot to attack abor­tion clin­ics and polit­i­cal oppo­nents. He emerged from prison a year lat­er as an under­cov­er FBI infor­mant who would spend the next two decades as the lead­ing pub­lish­er of accel­er­a­tionist Satan­ic Nazism. A form of Nazi Satanism that cel­e­brates rit­u­al­is­tic child abuse and has become inter­twine with some of the most sadis­tic and depraved cor­ners of the inter­net. Where chil­dren are lured into extrem­ists com­mu­ni­ties with gory and child pornog­ra­phy con­tent designed to desen­si­tize and then coerced into com­mit­ting acts of abuse and ter­ror them­selves. As Sut­ter once char­ac­ter­ized the “Tem­pel ov Blood” O9A off­shoot he runs, “this Tem­pel is in many ways a social pro­gram­ming exper­i­ment.” Nazi ter­ror­ism real­ly has some­how become more depraved than it already was.

At the same time, neo-Con­fed­er­ate Chris­t­ian Nation­al­ist move­ments deeply aligned with the pow­er­ful Coun­cil for Nation­al Pol­i­cy (CNP) haven’t just grown. They’ve been thriv­ing and increas­ing­ly their reach. One such neo-Con­fed­er­ate preach­ers, Doug Wil­son, co-authored a book in 1996 argu­ing the Con­fed­er­ate South was the bib­li­cal ide­al soci­ety that need­ed to be recre­at­ed. His co-author, Steven J. Wilkins, was a co-founder of the League of South (LOS). Both has prominet CNP mem­bers RJ Rush­doony and Gary North as close theo­crat­ic col­lab­o­ra­tors. Wilkins went on to exe­cute a LOS plot takeover church­es in the South US that were deemed to be ripe recruit­ment pools for their neo-Con­fed­er­ate ide­ol­o­gy. Wil­son spent the fol­low­ing decades build­ing an increas­ing­ly influ­en­tial pro-Con­fed­er­ate net­work of church­es that now includes cur­rent Sec­re­tary of Defense Pete Hegseth as a mem­ber. It turns out Wil­son has also been involved with the plan­ning behind Project 2025 and is now plan­ning on open­ing a new con­gre­ga­tion in Wash­ing­ton DC which will serve as a hub for his grow­ing reli­gious empire.

At the same time Chris­t­ian Iden­ti­ty white pow­er ter­ror has large­ly been sup­plant­ed by nihilis­tic accel­er­a­tionism in the online era (thanks, in part, to the decades-long efforts of a paid FBI infor­mant), orga­nized neo-Con­fed­er­ate Chris­t­ian Nation­al­ism has grown so pow­er­ful it is now play­ing a role in the CNP’s ongo­ing “Sec­ond Amer­i­can Rev­o­lu­tion”. That’s the incred­i­ble sto­ry we’re going to be exam­in­ing in this post.
