Resuming our analysis of “The Hitler Legacy,” our next interview with Peter Levenda continues discussion of the rehabilitation of “jihadis as proxy warriors” by Germany in the run-up to, and during, the Second World War. Having assumed the position of Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini took advantage of resentment on the Arab street and mobilized it against the British and Jews. Beginning with pogroms during the 1920’s and 1930’s, Husseini’s activism blossomed into full-fledged participation in Nazi military compaigns, including recruiting Waffen SS units in Muslim territories. After discussing some similarities between Nazism and global jihadist ideology, Peter highlights the Grand Mufti’s post war work with the PLO and other Muslim political and military organizations. Joining the Grand Mufti were numeerous SS men and Nazi technical experts, there to continue their war against the Jews and to fight against Communism on behalf of Western intelligence agencies. In the Middle East, as in other countries where they were recruited as anti-Communist cadre, the Third Reich alumni pursued a Nazi agenda, spawning new Nazi political and military formations. Peter notes that they are not “neo”-Nazis, at all. Western intelligence helped foster postwar SS-assistance organizations such as Die Spinne and ODESSA, shepherded to a considerable extent by SS Colonel Otto Skorzeny.
Resuming with, and further developing a key element of discussion highlighted in our previous interview, Peter sets forth “the origins of global jihad.” In the Middle East, the concept of global jihad was developed by German archaelogist Max von Oppenheim during the First World War. Envisioning the world’s Muslims as proxy warriors against the Entente Powers of Britain, France and Russia, von Oppenheim created the template for contemporary Islamic fascism and jihadism. Following the division of the former Ottoman Empire by Britain and France after World War I, the “Arab Street” began manifesting belief in an international global conspiracy involving Jews and the European colonial powers that resonated with the ideological anxieties of European and American power elites, German, in particular. Von Oppenheim’s strategy also employed the concept of “total war,” incorporating violence against civilians as part of the template that became a key feature of Islamist terrorism. The program also notes that, when the Nazi party came to power in Germany, NSDAP ideologues were placed in positions of influence around the world, where they interacted with like minded individuals and institutions. In the U.S., German spies worked closely with interests associated with Henry Ford, including and especially Ukrainian fascists who worked with the Third Reich. The program concludes with an account of Peter’s harrowing visit to the Chilean Nazi outpost Colonia Dignidad, a torture center for the Pinochet dictatorship, an epicenter of Operation Condor, a recipient of global Nazi money and the development site for weapons of mass destruction.
The first of several interviews with Peter Levenda about his important new book “The Hitler Legacy,” this program highlights the evolution of elements which figure into the development of the post-war Nazi underground. At the end of the First World War, the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia and abortive Marxist uprisings in Germany and elsewhere in Europe infused the power elite in the U.S. with a paranoid ideological terror of a global “Jewish-Marxist” conspiracy. Combined with fear of Catholic and Jewish immigrants and their effect on American society, this ideological paranoia fused with a social Darwinism that found its expression in eugenics–a pseudo-intellectual doctrine that sought the promotion of “desirable” social and ethnic types and the suppression and/or elimination of “inferior” racial types. Seeing Germany as the point element in the struggle against world Marxism, individuals and political parties sought to ally with German fascists to bring fascism to the U.S. This fascist Fifth Column included political groups ranging from the Ku Klux Klan to the Silver Shirts of William Dudley Pelley, as well as the prototypical right-wing talk show host Father Charles Coughlin, “the Radio Priest.” Coughlin’s efforts were subsidized by Third Reich intelligence. Financed by financiers and industrialists who supported fascism, this Fifth Column attempted to kill and/or overthrow FDR on several occasions. Author Peter Levenda has posted an article (excerpted from his recent book) that encapsulates significant elements of discussion presented by Mr. Emory and featured on this website. Noting Imperial Germany’s use of Islamic proxy warriors during the First World War and Nazi Germany’s incorporation of the same stratagem, Levenda notes that Nazi elements have continued to use Muslim proxy warfare to advance the goals of what Mr. Emory calls the Underground Reich. Having incorporated many important elements of Nazi Germany’s national security establishment into its own after World War II, the United States has co-opted the tactic of proxy war. To its detriment, the U.S. has failed to grasp that the Underground Reich and its Islamist proxies have their own agendas. Those agendas feature the defeat of the United States as a centerpiece of long-term strategy. Concluding with an examination of recent American military involvement, the program notes that much of what we are doing actually benfits Germany and occurs in areas formerly belonging to the Ottoman Empire.
Revisiting the subject of the 1972 Olympics massacre, we probe more deeply into the underlying dynamics of that event. Having noted in AFA #22 that security for the games was handled by a BND agent named Hans Langemann, we review his work covering up for the neo-Nazis behind the Oktoberfest bombing of 1980. German neo-Nazis also aided the Black September terrorists who perpetrated the Olympics massacre. Despite the fact that the German government had advanced warning of the impending attack, no preventive action was taken. After the attacks, the German government was in close touch with the perpetrators and downplaying the significance of the incident. Willi Pohl, one of the neo-Nazis involved who assisted Black September with the 1972 attack, began working in a counter-terror capacity for the CIA. Black September chief Ali Hassan Salameh, in charge of the attacks, was also impressed into duty with CIA, having been recruited while Henry Kissinger was astride of Richard Nixon’s national security policy. In speculative mode, we ask if there MAY be a connection between Kissinger’s efforts to destabilize the Willi Brandt government–undertaken conjunction with Third Reich veterans–and the Olympics massacre?
Pop conspiracy theory casts the Bilderberger group in a sensationalist, politically and historically illiterate “New World Order” context. In this broadcast, we examine the history of Prince Bernhard, the former SS officer and I.G. Farben spy who founded the group, against the background of the Battle of Arnhem (Operation Market Garden) in September of 1944. As head of the Dutch “resistance,” apparent double agent Bernhard sacrificed a resistance fighter named Christian Lindemans (code named “King Kong”), who took the blame for the deliberate betrayal of the Allied battle plan. Sabotage of the Arnhem operation has also been partly attributed to Peter Carrington (later Lord Carrington and former British Foreign Secretary during the run-up to the Falkalands War.) Attacked for his stunning lack of insight with regard to the Argentine fascist junta’s invasion of those islands, Carrington has never been properly vetted with regard to the betrayal of part of the British battle plan for the Falkalnds campaign. The program also examines the fascist activities and involvements of Bernhard’s heirs in the Royal Family of the Netherlands.
A video of ISIS (ISIL) followers swearing allegiance to the organization features a striking episode at about 1:05. The acolytes engage in some very “un-Islamic” gesturing (at right.) It graphically illustrates a dynamic we have spoken of so often. Central to an understanding of political conflicts throughout the 20th and 21st century is the concept of the Earth Island (also called “the World Island.”) This area is populated largely by Muslims, and political affiliation with, and/or control of, those population groups has long been seen as fundamental to domination of the Earth Island–that, in turn, is the geopolitical key to controlling the world. Imperial Germany made good use of Islamists as proxy warriors during the First World War, and the Third Reich developed and used that strategy extensively, in both its above-ground and underground phases. Western intelligence–the CIA and derivative organizations such as the Safari Club–have made extensive use of this stratagem during the Cold War and after.
For some time, we’ve covered one of George W. Bush’s Muslim Brotherhood political associates Sami al-Arian. The Operation Green Quest investigation into the financing of terrorist groups (including al-Qaeda, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad) stemmed from an investigation into Sammy al-Arian (“Sammy the Aryan,” as we call him.) One of the leaders of Palestinian Islamic Jihad (pictured at right), al-Arian is now turning out in support of the ousted Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.
Indicating that the Saudis had control of the Chechen Islamic terrorists who have bedeviled Russia, Prince Bandar (head of Saudi intelligence and nicknamed “Bandar Bush”) made what could be construed as a Mafia-like threat of protection or violence if the Russians should fail to cease support for Syria’s Assad. Thomas Bach, the new head of the International Olympic Committee, is closely linked with Siemens. He also worked for Adidas. Bach is a protege of Juan Antonio Samaranch, a previous head of the IOC and a Spanish fascist.
I.G. Farben’s Fischer-Tropsch process is experiencing an industrial renaissance. In Kosovo, former NATO commander General Wesley Clark is chairman of a company using it to produce synthetic fuel from Kosovo’s coal deposits. Coincidentally (?) the head of NATO peacekeeping forces in Kosovo was the son of Nazi war crminal and Third Reich finance ministry official Fritz Reinhardt.
