We’ve been cov­er­ing infor­ma­tion point­ing to the sniper fire that ignit­ed the Maid­an coup as hav­ing come from the anti-gov­ern­ment forces. Not sur­pris­ing­ly, per­son­nel from Svo­bo­da and the fas­cist “pun­ish­er bat­tal­ions” crop up repeat­edy in the unfold­ing nar­ra­tive. German-Foreign-Policy.com fea­tures a com­par­i­son with the “cook­ing” of jour­nal­is­tic infor­ma­tion about Ukraine with what took place in the for­mer Yugoslavia, the NATO oper­a­tion against Koso­vo, in par­tic­u­lar. We’ve spent much time on the Ukraine cri­sis, an unfold­ing deba­cle that threat­ens a glob­al eco­nom­ic col­lapse or worse. As the U.S. dis­patch­es mil­i­tary advis­ers and armored vehi­cles to Ukraine’s nation­al guard (which includes its Nazi “vol­un­teer bat­tal­ions”), for­mer Sovi­et pres­i­dent Mikhail Gor­bachev has added his voice those warn­ing that events in Ukraine could lead to nuclear war. Even if that calami­ty is avert­ed, the push to destroy the Russ­ian econ­o­my may pre­cip­i­tate a glob­al finan­cial cri­sis, with a cred­it default there spread­ing eco­nom­ic con­ta­gion around the world. Russ­ian ana­lysts and some in the West see the ramp­ing up of eco­nom­ic pres­sure on Rus­sia as a dri­ve for regime change, mak­ing the “econ­o­my scream” as was done in Nixon’s desta­bi­liza­tion of the Allende regime in Chile. The con­clud­ing por­tion of the broad­cast high­lights the renascent pow­er of the von Hab­s­burg fam­i­ly in Ukraine and oth­er for­mer ter­ri­to­ries of the Aus­tro-Hun­gar­i­an Empire. Active in Geor­gia, Hun­gary, Swe­den and Aus­tria, the von Hab­s­burgs have been qui­et but major play­ers in Nazi aggres­sion in World War II, the Cold War and the desta­bi­liza­tion of the for­mer Sovi­et Union and the breakup of Yugoslavia.

A con­tro­ver­sy ensued when it emerged that House major­i­ty whip Steve Scalise had attend­ed a meet­ing of David Duke’s Euro­pean-Amer­i­can Uni­ty Orga­ni­za­tion. The new­ly-seat­ed GOP-dom­i­nat­ed con­gress which Scalise will help to guide began attack­ing Social Secu­ri­ty on its very first day. Specif­i­cal­ly, the GOP began attack­ing the Social Secu­ri­ty dis­abil­i­ty pro­gram. These devel­op­ments serve as a point of entry into our dis­cus­sion. Snow­den is an advo­cate of elim­i­nat­ing Social Secu­ri­ty and the OUN/B fas­cists run­ning Ukraine are engag­ing in a sim­i­lar pro­gram to force those in East­ern Ukraine to stop their attempts at seces­sion. The ele­ments of the Snowden/WikiLeaks “op” are net­worked with Duke, as well. Snow­den’s leak­ing jour­nal­ist of choice, Nazi fel­low-trav­el­er Glenn Green­wald, has been financed by Pierre Omid­yar of Ebay, who has also financed the Ukraine coup. The pro­gram notes many oth­er ele­ments of con­flu­ence between the Snowden/WikiLeaks “op” and the Ukrain­ian coup. The Snowden/WikiLeaks helped to deep-six Oba­ma’s “reboot with Rus­sia” and also alien­ate many of the young, ide­al­is­tic vot­ers who had sup­port­ed him in 2008, there­by help­ing to elect the 114th Con­gress.

In FTR #824, we not­ed the deci­sive role played by the Ukrain­ian dias­po­ra in the events unfold­ing in East­ern Europe. Petro Poroshenko is imple­ment­ing a legal gam­bit to per­mit for­eign nation­als to assume cab­i­net posi­tions in his new gov­ern­ment. In par­tic­u­lar, Poroshenko expressed the desire to incor­po­rate cit­i­zens of the U.S., Geor­gia and Lithua­nia in Ukraine’s gov­ern­ment. In short order, Ukrainian/American State Depart­ment Offi­cer Natal­ie Jaresko, Lithuan­ian-born U.S. cit­i­zen Air­vas Abramovi­cius and Geor­gian Alek­san­dre Kvi­tashvili assumed the posts of finance min­is­ter, eco­nom­ic and devel­op­ment and trade min­is­ter and health min­is­ter respec­tive­ly. All three were edu­cat­ed in the Unit­ed States. Jaresko is a for­mer State Depart­ment offi­cer with close links to the US Agency for Inter­na­tion­al Devel­op­ment. The appoint­ments come as Ukraine is close to default­ing on a $17bn IMF loan and mem­bers of Ukraine’s fas­cist vol­un­teer bat­tal­ions are lob­by­ing Con­gress for mil­i­tary aid. Poroshenko is also grant­i­ng cit­i­zen­ship to for­eign-born neo-Nazis, as well as insti­tut­ing an infor­ma­tion min­istry that crit­ics have com­pared to The Min­istry of Truth from George Orwell’s 1984.

Sup­ple­ment­ing pre­vi­ous work about the Ukrain­ian crisis–one which might spark a nuclear war–we note the deci­sive role of the OUN/B dias­po­ra in the coa­les­cence of fas­cism in that trou­bled nation. The U.S., Cana­da joined Ukraine as the only nations to vote against a U.N. Gen­er­al Assem­bly res­o­lu­tion con­demn­ing the glo­ri­fi­ca­tion of Nazi col­lab­o­ra­tors as “free­dom fight­ers,” prob­a­bly because of the large OUN/B con­tin­gents present in those coun­tries. (Ger­many and the oth­er EU nations abstained.) Most of the broad­cast access­es a very impor­tant arti­cle by George Elia­son detail­ing the his­tor­i­cal back­ground of the Ukrain­ian dias­po­ra, trac­ing the roots of Ukrain­ian, cen­tral and East­ern Euro­pean fas­cism to the 19th cen­tu­ry ultra-nation­al­ist excep­tion­al­ism fos­tered by the Aus­tro-Hun­gar­i­an Empire. Nur­tured by the Promethean League between the World Wars, Nazi Ger­many dur­ing the Sec­ond World War and the West­ern democ­ra­cies dur­ing the Cold War, that vir­u­lent, bloody ide­ol­o­gy tri­umphed after the breakup of the U.S.S.R. The pro­gram con­cludes by not­ing that Poroshenko has pro­posed bring­ing in cit­i­zens of the U.S., Lithua­nia and Geor­gia to staff the Ukrain­ian fed­er­al police.

Fun­da­men­tal rejec­tion of demo­c­ra­t­ic process are at the core of the peo­ple and insti­tu­tions in Snow­den’s milieu, who reca­pit­u­late the val­ues expressed by Hitler in his speech before the Indus­try Club of Dus­sel­dorf.

Eddie the Friend­ly Spook [Snow­den] is a big Ron Paul sup­port­er, hav­ing con­tributed mon­ey to his 2012 cam­paign. Paul is a hard­core racist and fas­cist, net­work­ing for decades with the likes of David Duke. Ron Paul’s top legal advis­er in his 2012 run was Bruce Fein, now the lawyer for Snow­den, and his father Lon. Eddie Snow­den is an expo­nent of the polit­i­cal, eco­nom­ic and social views of the 1%. Those views come from the Lud­wig von Mis­es Insti­tute, explic­it­ly anti-demo­c­ra­t­ic and joined at the hip with the neo-Con­fed­er­ate move­ment. Ron Paul is also joined at the hip with the neo-Con­fed­er­ate move­ment, as is his son Rand Paul.

I.G. Far­ben’s Fis­ch­er-Trop­sch process is expe­ri­enc­ing an indus­tri­al renais­sance. In Koso­vo, for­mer NATO com­man­der Gen­er­al Wes­ley Clark is chair­man of a com­pa­ny using it to pro­duce syn­thet­ic fuel from Kosovo’s coal deposits. Coin­ci­den­tal­ly (?) the head of NATO peace­keep­ing forces in Koso­vo was the son of Nazi war crmi­nal and Third Reich finance min­istry offi­cial Fritz Rein­hardt.
