FTR #924 Technocratic Fascism, the High-Profile Hacks and The Obverse Oswald: Update on the Adventures of Eddie the Friendly Spook

Con­tin­u­ing our analy­sis of the high-pro­file hacks and “Team Snow­den,” we begin with analy­sis of some cryp­tic tweets that Snow­den issued, short­ly before the “Shad­ow Bro­kers” announced their pil­fer­ing of NSA cyber­weapons. The pos­si­bil­i­ty that the tweets were a sig­nal to release the infor­ma­tion is one to be con­sid­ered.

Much of the pro­gram reviews key points of infor­ma­tion from FTR #923 and oth­er broad­casts: Rus­sia appears to have been wrong­ly fin­gered for the DNC hack released by Wik­iLeaks; the Shad­ow Bro­kers’ sup­posed hack of the NSA’s servers does not appear to have been a hack at all but the work of an insid­er who down­loaded the files onto a USB dri­ve; the files offered up by the Shad­ow Bro­kers were from 2013, when Snow­den under­took his oper­a­tion.

Snow­den has sup­port­ed the cov­er sto­ry for the NSA non-hack–that it was, indeed, a hack (it prob­a­bly was­n’t) and that Rus­sia was behind it, which was prob­a­bly not the case.

A chief sus­pect in the release of the NSA files is Jacob Apple­baum, the Wik­iLeak­er who appears to have facil­i­tat­ed Snow­den’s jour­ney from Hawaii to Hong Kong. The pro­gram reviews Apple­baum’s hos­til­i­ty to Hillary Clin­ton, com­par­ing it to the so-called “Shad­ow Bro­kers’ ” hos­til­i­ty to Clin­ton, echo­ing the views of Trump, Assange and Apple­baum. The broad­cast reviews the fact that the “Shad­ow Bro­kers” used an e‑mail account in Ger­many that has been recal­ci­trant to attempts at pen­e­trat­ing its users’ infor­ma­tion.

The pro­gram reviews Apple­baum’s pres­ence in Ger­many, along with oth­er key mem­bers of the WikiLeaks/Team Snow­den cadre.

Pro­gram High­lights Include: review of the fact that Snow­den (at the time he set out to sub­vert the NSA), Apple­baum and oth­er high-pro­file “pri­va­cy activists” have doc­u­ment­ed links to the CIA; a look at Don­ald Trump, Jr. who has been active in tweet­ing and re-tweet­ing “Alt.right” racist and anti-Semit­ic memes; Trump, Jr.‘s expressed will­ing­ness to run for office.

FTR #922 The Trumpenkampfverbande, Part 5: Walkin’ the Snake with “The Donald” (The Underground Reich Comes Into Plain View, Part 3)

Sup­ple­ment­ing analy­sis in the first four pro­grams about the Trumpenkampfver­bande, this pro­gram exam­ines the media bias in his favor in the con­text of the Nazi tract “Ser­pen­t’s Walk,” about a Nazi takeover of the U.S. in the mid-twen­ty-first cen­tu­ry. That takeover occurs after the SS goes under­ground (which hap­pened), builds up their “eco­nom­ic mus­cle,” (which has hap­pened with the Bor­mann net­work), buys into the opin­ion-form­ing media (which has hap­pened) and sways the Amer­i­can peo­ple. “A cen­tu­ry after the war they are ready to chal­lenge the democ­rats and Jews for the hearts and minds of White Amer­i­cans, who have begun to have their fill of gov­ern­ment-enforced mul­ti-cul­tur­al­ism and ‘equal­i­ty.’ ” This appears to be hap­pen­ing with the Trump cam­paign. Not­ing the inces­sant grilling of Hillary Clin­ton over the e‑mail non-scan­dal (110 of 30,000 e‑mails con­tained clas­si­fied mate­r­i­al, a 0.36 per­cent mar­gin of error) and the Clin­ton Foun­da­tion (a char­i­ty that helps the dis­ad­van­tage and enjoys a high­er offi­cial rat­ing than the Amer­i­can Red Cross), Paul Krug­man com­pared this–accurately–to the kid glove treat­ment afford­ed the dis­hon­est and incom­pe­tent George W. Bush dur­ing the 2000 cam­paign. Review­ing Trump’s cred­i­tors, we note the pri­ma­ry role of Deutsche Bank in under­writ­ing his real estate projects and the mys­te­ri­ous, opaque projects involv­ing Ger­man indus­tri­al and aris­to­crat­ic ele­ments. After review­ing the absolute con­trol that the Bor­mann cap­i­tal net­work wields over cor­po­rate Ger­many, the pro­gram high­lights the fun­da­men­tal rela­tion­ship between Deutsche Bank, Bor­mann and the remark­able and dead­ly net­work the Reich­sleit­er found­ed. Heav­i­ly invest­ed in Amer­i­can cor­po­ra­tions, the Bor­mann group and the Under­ground Reich are in an excel­lent posi­tion to manip­u­late media cov­er­age of events, through direct cor­po­rate edi­to­r­i­al pol­i­cy and through the award­ing of adver­tis­ing con­tracts. We note, also, that the Bor­mann group con­trols cor­po­rate Ger­many: ” . . . What will not pass is the eco­nom­ic influ­ences of the Bor­mann orga­ni­za­tion, whose com­mer­cial direc­tives are obeyed almost with­out ques­tion by the high­est ech­e­lons of West Ger­man finance and indus­try. ‘All orders come from the share­hold­ers in South Amer­i­ca,’ I have been told by a spokesman for Mar­tin Bor­mann. . . .” The con­trol of cor­po­rate Ger­many fur­ther enhances the abil­i­ty of the Under­ground Reich to con­trol media cov­er­age. We are of the con­sid­ered opin­ion that this dynam­ic is a major fac­tor in the grotesque­ly slant­ed cov­er­age of Trump’s cam­paign. While the “pun­dits” nat­ter end­less­ly about Hillary Clin­ton’s health (nev­er even con­sid­er­ing that she may have been vec­tored), they are com­plete­ly ignor­ing the fact that Trump is hun­dreds of mil­lions of dol­lars in debt to Deutsche Bank, a preda­to­ry “too big to fail” insti­tu­tion that has flout­ed this coun­try’s reg­u­la­to­ry statutes and engaged in open law break­ing. And, it’s a Bor­mann bank. The broad­cast con­cludes with a tran­si­tion­al ele­ment that notes Trump’s polit­i­cal evo­lu­tion from the anarcho/fascist lib­er­tar­i­an milieu of Ron Paul, the same polit­i­cal forces that are the foun­da­tion of “Team Snow­den” and WikiLeaks/Assange. ” . . . . Trump’s style and posi­tions — endors­ing and con­sort­ing with 9/11 truthers, pro­mot­ing online racists, using fake sta­tis­tics— draw on a now-obscure polit­i­cal strat­e­gy called “pale­olib­er­tar­i­an­ism,” which was once quite pop­u­lar among some Repub­li­cans, espe­cial­ly for­mer pres­i­den­tial can­di­date Ron Paul. . . . But it was [Mur­ray] Rothbard’s found­ing of the Lud­wig von Mis­es Insti­tute in 1982 that enabled the fledg­ling polit­i­cal move­ment to estab­lish affin­i­ty with the neo-Con­fed­er­ate Lost Cause move­ment. . . . In the past few years, how­ev­er, it’s been reborn as the alt-right, as a new gen­er­a­tion of lib­er­tar­i­ans dis­cov­ered their hid­den her­itage and began embrac­ing racism and con­spir­a­cy the­o­ries. Many alt-right writ­ers trace their roots to Roth­bard. FTR #917 WikiFascism, Part #4: Weighing In for the Trumpenkampfverbande (Technocratic Fascism in Action)

In FTR #‘s 724, 725, 732, 745 and 755, we have detailed the fas­cist and far right-wing ide­ol­o­gy, asso­ci­a­tions and pol­i­tics of Julian Assange and Wik­iLeaks. Lion­ized by the so-called pro­gres­sive sec­tor, as well as main­stream media sources like “The New York Times” and “Der Spiegel,” Assange’s true col­ors and fas­cist pol­i­tics and asso­ci­a­tions have emerged on a larg­er stage. As the Trump cam­paign evolves, a major alliance between Trump and the Assange orga­ni­za­tion has devel­oped. Obvi­ous­ly serv­ing as a dirty-tricks cadre for the GOP, Assange is work­ing hard to destroy Hillary Clin­ton with leaked doc­u­ments intend­ed to tor­pe­do her cam­paign. Assange–not even an Amer­i­can citizen–is man­i­fest­ing what we termed “tech­no­crat­ic fas­cism,” arro­gat­ing to him­self the right to deter­mine the results of the Amer­i­can Pres­i­den­tial elec­tion. Quot­ing from a sem­i­nal arti­cle by David Golum­bia: ” . . . Hack­ers (“civic,” “eth­i­cal,” “white” and “black” hat alike), hack­tivists, Wik­iLeaks fans [and Julian Assange et al–D. A major por­tion of the pro­gram high­lights the sub­stan­tive evi­dence that the DNC hack was NOT done by Rus­sia, but by some­one try­ing to make it look like Rus­sia did it. Assange is now strong­ly hint­ing that the source was Seth Rich, a Demo­c­ra­t­ic Nation­al Com­mit­tee vol­un­teer who was mur­dered. Assange is oblique­ly sug­gest­ing that Clin­ton was behind the mur­der. (Rich’s fam­i­ly dis­putes this canard and is urg­ing the pub­lic to dis­re­gard Assange’s claims.) The Wik­iLeaks Clin­ton e‑mail dump: ” . . . . The emails include unen­crypt­ed, plain-text list­ings of donor emails address­es, home address­es, phone num­bers, social secu­ri­ty num­bers, pass­port num­bers, and cred­it card infor­ma­tion. . . .” Might this have had some­thing to do with the mur­der of Seth Rich? FTR #894 Physicians, Heal Thyselves: Hypocrisy and the Trump Campaign

From the Repub­li­can Par­ty to Euro­pean polit­i­cal and intel­lec­tu­al elites to “The New York Times,” every­one is “shocked, shocked” at the fascis­tic nature of the Trump can­di­da­cy. They should­n’t be–his can­di­da­cy is the direct out­growth of pow­er­ful forces that have been at work in this coun­try for decades. After high­light­ing two op-ed pieces from the “Times,” accu­rate­ly not­ing the vir­u­lent fas­cism at the root of the Trump phe­nom­e­non, the broad­cast notes that nei­ther Europe, where fas­cism is on the march once again, nor the Amer­i­can so-called “pro­gres­sive sec­tor,” which has embraced the “Eddie the Friend­ly Spook,” Glenn Green­wald and Julian Assange are in a posi­tion to com­plain. Snow­den, Green­wald, Assange et al embody PRECISELY the same forces per­co­lat­ing at the sur­face of the Trump waters. FTR #891 How Might Colonel L. Fletcher Prouty Have Viewed Edward Snowden? (The Foxes Aren’t Guarding the Henhouse, They ARE the Henhouse, Part 2: Update on the Adventures of Eddie the Friendly Spook)

One of the most inci­sive crit­ics of the CIA was the late [U.S. Air Force] Colonel L. Fletch­er Prouty. Cho­sen by Allen Dulles to set up “focal point” func­tions for CIA with­in oth­er agen­cies of the U.S. gov­ern­ment, Prouty was instru­men­tal in the cre­ation of what he called a “Secret Team”–the title of his 1969 book about “The Agency.” Dulles’ secret net­work infil­trat­ed the mil­i­tary, the State Depart­ment, the FAA and even the White House. Look­ing at CIA offi­cer Edward Snow­den’s activ­i­ties, Prouty would NOT have tak­en them at face val­ue and would have seen them against the back­ground of the sub-rosa activ­i­ties with which he was famil­iar and had helped cre­ate, weigh­ing the pos­si­bil­i­ty that Snow­den was oper­at­ing against NSA on behalf of CIA. Much of the pro­gram details the sab­o­tage of Fran­cis Gary Pow­ers’ U‑2 spy plane in 1960 on the eve of a sum­mit con­fer­ence between then U.S. Pres­i­dent Dwight Eisen­how­er and Sovi­et Pre­mier Niki­ta Khr­uschev. Dis­patched against the spe­cif­ic orders of Dwight Eisen­how­er, the U‑2 appears to have been delib­er­ate­ly sab­o­taged. The inci­dent led to the can­cel­la­tion of the sum­mit con­fer­ence and the neu­tral­iza­tion of detente between the Sovi­et Union and the Unit­ed States. Prouty would have not­ed that Edward Snow­den was work­ing for the CIA when he under­took his leak­ing oper­a­tion. Prouty would also have not­ed Snow­den’s extreme right-wing views and would not have tak­en his activ­i­ties at face val­ue. Snow­den’s jour­ney to Hong Kong frus­trat­ed Pres­i­dent Oba­ma’s attempts at resolv­ing U.S. and Chi­nese elec­tron­ic spy­ing and hack­ing. Snow­den’s Chi­na sojourn also antic­i­pat­ed U.S. mil­i­tary and eco­nom­ic pres­sure on Chi­na. Snow­den’s jour­ney from Chi­na to Rus­sia led to the can­cel­la­tion of a sum­mit con­fer­ence between Oba­ma and Putin and end­ed the Oba­ma admin­is­tra­tion’s “reboot with Rus­sia.” The Snow­den “op” pre­ced­ed the Maid­an covert oper­a­tion and atten­dant Ukrain­ian civ­il war, as well as West­ern eco­nom­ic pres­sure on Rus­sia. As a trained intel­li­gence offi­cer, Prouty would have not­ed that the 1.7 mil­lion doc­u­ments (2.7 mil­lion by some accounts) pur­loined by Snow­den fun­da­men­tal­ly com­pro­mised NSA, per­haps to pre­vent whis­tle-blow­ing on CIA use of Mus­lim Broth­er­hood-relat­ed Islamists as proxy war­riors and her­alds of cor­po­ratist eco­nom­ics in what Mr. Emory calls “The Earth Island Boo­gie.” The pro­gram con­cludes with dis­cus­sion of the intel­li­gence con­nec­tions of the very pri­va­cy activists who are sup­pos­ed­ly opposed to U.S. gov­ern­ment elec­tron­ic sur­veil­lance. Are Snow­den and those so-called “pri­va­cy activists” actu­al­ly “focal point” per­son­nel in the net­works set up for Allen Dulles by Prouty? FTR #888 Compendium on Citizen Greenwald: A Shiller for Killers

Draw­ing togeth­er mate­r­i­al from pre­vi­ous pro­grams and posts, this broad­cast high­lights Cit­i­zen Green­wald’s role as “a shiller for killers.” QUICK–who do you think said this?: “The parade of evils caused by ille­gal immi­gra­tion is wide­ly known, . . . ille­gal immi­gra­tion wreaks hav­oc eco­nom­i­cal­ly, social­ly, and cul­tur­al­ly; makes a mock­ery of the rule of law; and is dis­grace­ful just on basic fair­ness grounds alone. . . . unman­age­ably end­less hordes of peo­ple pour over the bor­der in num­bers far too large to assim­i­late, and who con­se­quent­ly have no need, moti­va­tion or abil­i­ty to assim­i­late. . . [they pose a threat to] mid­dle-class sub­ur­ban vot­ers.” Don­ald Trump, right? Wrong–it was Glenn Green­wald.

Begin­ning with dis­cus­sion of Green­wald’s role in sup­press­ing jour­nal­is­tic cov­er­age of, and basic free­dom of speech about, Big Tobac­co’s lethal mar­ket­ing prac­tices, we note his role in the Wachtell Lip­ton suit. That suit forced the can­cel­la­tion of a “Front­line” broad­cast and muz­zled key whistle­blow­ers from even dis­cussing the doc­u­ments reveal­ing cig­a­rette man­u­fac­tur­ers’ sin­is­ter activ­i­ty.

Once in pri­vate prac­tice, Green­wald con­tin­ued his work as a shiller for killers, run­ning legal inter­fer­ence for the “lead­er­less resis­tance” strat­e­gy by pro­tect­ing Nazi killers against civ­il suits and mur­der charges.

In addi­tion to defend­ing Nazi leader Matthew Hale against a suit brought by vic­tims of one of his mur­der­ous foot sol­diers, Green­wald defend­ed him when he solicit­ed the mur­der of Judge Joan Lefkow. Judge Lefkow’s hus­band and moth­er were shot to death in her home, after one of Hale’s fol­low­ers post­ed the judge’s home address, a map to her home and pic­tures of her fam­i­ly online. Appar­ent­ly Cit­i­zen Green­wald’s con­cern for inter­net pri­va­cy did not extent to the unfor­tu­nate Judge Lefkow.

Green­wald also defend­ed the Nation­al Alliance and oth­er anti-immi­gra­tion groups against a suit that held them liable for beat­ing and stab­bing attacks on Mex­i­can day labor­ers. The Nation­al Alliance pub­lish­es books specif­i­cal­ly intend­ed to moti­vate racial vio­lence.

The ongo­ing occu­pa­tion of an Ore­gon wildlife pre­serve in Ore­gon by para­mil­i­tary forces led by Ammon Bundy (son of Cliv­en Bundy) may seem far removed from the gild­ed realms in which the Koch Broth­ers move. They may also appear to be of an entire­ly dif­fer­ent polit­i­cal stripe from the likes of Edward Snow­den and Julian Assange. That is not the case. In fact, the “Bundy­ists” are real­iz­ing the agen­da of the Wise Use move­ment and the Koch broth­ers, both advo­cates of ced­ing con­trol of fed­er­al lands to local con­trol, in order that cor­po­rate inter­ests such as tim­ber, min­ing and cat­tle ranch­ing can use the ter­ri­to­ry for their own use and prof­it. By the same token, the likes of Edward Snow­den and Julian Assange have arro­gat­ed to them­selves the use, con­trol and dis­sem­i­na­tion of sen­si­tive infor­ma­tion that was not theirs to own or dis­trib­ute. David Golum­bia not­ed the atti­tude of “coders” such as Snow­den, Assange and “hack­tivists ” . . . the polit­i­cal world is theirs to do with what they want, and the rest of us should stay out of it . . . mem­bers of demo­c­ra­tic poli­ties have no choice but to accept them hav­ing that role.” Turn­ing to tur­moil in Europe, the recent assaults on women by Mid­dle East­ern immi­grants in Ger­man, Finnish and oth­er cities on the con­ti­nent have fueled the rise of fas­cist groups, mint­ing valu­able polit­i­cal coinage from the assaults.
