With the Mid­dle East boil­ing over and the lat­est install­ment of pre­dictable Hamas/Israeli blood­let­ting pro­ceed­ing apace, it is depress­ing (though not sur­pris­ing) to see The Huff­in­g­ton Post launch an Arab Lan­guage edi­tion edit­ed by a for­mer Al-Jazeera “jour­nal­ist.” Deeply con­nect­ed to the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood, Al-Jazeer­a’s ascen­sion as a sup­pos­ed­ly cred­i­ble media out­let marks anoth­er step in the real­iza­tion of Ser­pen­t’s Walk. Sol­diers of Hamas–the Pales­tin­ian branch of the Mus­lim Brotherhood–are seen salut­ing at right.

We recall the tsuna­mi of praise, Hosan­nas and Hal­lelu­jahs gush­ing forth from the world’s media and polit­i­cal pun­dit­ry, hail­ing the “Arab Spring” as the dawn­ing of a new enlight­en­ment in that part of the world, they missed the boat–-fundamentally. We, on the oth­er hand, were warn­ing that this phe­nom­e­non was an Under­ground Reich oper­a­tion. Events in Egypt and Turkey have borne out our hypoth­e­sis in grim­ly con­vinc­ing­ly fash­ion.

For years, we’ve high­light­ed the Islam­o­fas­cist nature of the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood, as well as its his­tor­i­cal align­ment with the Axis in World War II. Now Egypt­ian come­di­an Bassem Youssef has lam­pooned the Broth­er­hood, accu­rate­ly char­ac­ter­iz­ing the orga­ni­za­tion. Youssef has been the tar­get of Broth­er­hood repres­sion in the past.

Egypt­ian pres­i­dent Mohamed Mor­si con­tin­ues on the Islam­ic fas­cist path man­dat­ed by the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood, to which he belongs. Now, he has threat­ened unspec­i­fied “Emer­gency Mea­sures” to quell the oppo­si­tion. Just such rhetoric and the actions that gen­er­al­ly fol­low that kind of talk are part and par­cel to the imple­men­ta­tion of total­i­tar­i­an rule.

We’ve report­ed on the Egypt­ian Mus­lim Broth­er­hood’s move to estab­lish civil­ian par­al­lel police to sup­ple­ment the secu­ri­ty forces, coop­er­at­ing in this with the al-Qae­da-infil­trat­ed Gama’a-al-Islamiya. Observers now report fears that the Broth­er­hood may be try­ing to infil­trate the Egypt­ian mil­i­tary, tra­di­tion­al­ly an non-ide­o­log­i­cal force in Egypt­ian soci­ety.

Egyp­t’s Mus­lim Broth­er­hood con­tin­ues to behave as we pre­dict­ed. It has for­mal­ly attacked a Unit­ed Nations dec­la­ra­tion against vio­lence against women. This, from the sup­pos­ed­ly “demo­c­ra­t­ic,” “West­ern-ori­ent­ed” orga­ni­za­tion we were told would ush­er in a “new era” in Egypt­ian pol­i­tics. The Broth­er­hood is also coop­er­at­ing with the Jama’a al-Islamiya to assem­ble a cadre of Islamist civil­ian police to func­tion as a secu­ri­ty force and par­al­lel police.

Bush, it had its trig­ger with the Wik­iLeaks milieu–itself a far-right, Nazi-linked enti­ty, as we demon­strat­ed in FTR’s 732 and #745. Just as we pre­dict­ed dur­ing the long, tor­tu­ous For The Record series start­ing with Wik­iLeaks and mor­ph­ing into “The Mus­lim Broth­er­hood Spring,” as we call it, Mohammed Mor­si is assum­ing total­i­tar­i­an pow­ers. This assess­ment is being made by for­mer sup­port­ers and crit­ics alike. This should come as no sur­prise, con­sid­er­ing the fas­cist nature of this orga­ni­za­tion. It is NOT, and has NEVER been, demo­c­ra­t­ic in its ori­en­ta­tion. We also pre­dict­ed that the out­come would be dis­as­trous. Stay tuned.


I Told You So: Update on the “Muslim Brotherhood Spring,” The “Hacktober Surprise” and the Destabilization of Lee Harvey Obama

As fore­cast in the For The Record series deal­ing with Wik­iLeaks and mor­ph­ing into the “Mus­lim Broth­er­hood Spring,” the GOP is tar­ring Barack Oba­ma with the “soft on ter­ror­ism” brush–casting him as the sec­ond com­ing of Jim­my Carter. Attack­ing the Oba­ma admin­is­tra­tion for not hav­ing pre­vent­ed the lethal attack on the Libyan embassy, the GOP is explic­it­ly com­par­ing Oba­ma’s actions with Carter’s behav­ior dur­ing the Iran­ian hostage cri­sis. The avail­able evi­dence sug­gests that the “Mus­lim Broth­er­hood Spring” is a covert operation–the out­growth of a George Bush State Depart­ment reassess­ment and rap­proche­ment with the Mus­lim Broth­er­hood, as well as an approach made to the Egypt­ian April 6 move­ment dur­ing the clos­ing days of Dubya’s sec­ond term.
