JFK avoid­ed that in Cuba, deft­ly maneu­ver­ing around a Nation­al Secu­ri­ty Estab­lish­ment that was push­ing for a nuclear first strike on the U.S.S.R. As peo­ple with an oblig­a­tion to our descen­dants, we have the respon­si­bil­i­ty to pre­serve a record of the events lead­ing to the col­lapse of our social and polit­i­cal milieu.
