FTR #997 Summoning the Demon, Part 2: Sorcer’s Apprentice

Developing analysis presented in FTR #968, this broadcast explores frightening developments and potential developments in the world of artificial intelligence–the ultimate manifestation of what Mr. Emory calls “technocratic fascism.”

In order to underscore what we mean by technocratic fascism, we reference a vitally important article by David Golumbia. ” . . . . Such technocratic beliefs are widespread in our world today, especially in the enclaves of digital enthusiasts, whether or not they are part of the giant corporate-digital leviathan. Hackers (‘civic,’ ‘ethical,’ ‘white’ and ‘black’ hat alike), hacktivists, WikiLeaks fans [and Julian Assange et al–D. E.], Anonymous ‘members,’ even Edward Snowden himself walk hand-in-hand with Facebook and Google in telling us that coders don’t just have good things to contribute to the political world, but that the political world is theirs to do with what they want, and the rest of us should stay out of it: the political world is broken, they appear to think (rightly, at least in part), and the solution to that, they think (wrongly, at least for the most part), is for programmers to take political matters into their own hands. . . . [Tor co-creator] Dingledine  asserts that a small group of software developers can assign to themselves that role, and that members of democratic polities have no choice but to accept them having that role. . . .”

Perhaps the last and most perilous manifestation of technocratic fascism concerns Anthony  Levandowski, an engineer at the foundation of the development of Google Street Map technology and self-driving cars. He is proposing an AI Godhead that would rule the world and would be worshipped as a God by the planet’s citizens. Insight into his personality was provided by an associate: “ . . . . ‘He had this very weird motivation about robots taking over the world—like actually taking over, in a military sense…It was like [he wanted] to be able to control the world, and robots were the way to do that. He talked about starting a new country on an island. Pretty wild and creepy stuff. And the biggest thing is that he’s always got a secret plan, and you’re not going to know about it’. . . .”

As we saw in FTR #968, AI’s have incorporated many flaws of their creators, auguring very poorly for the subjects of Levandowski’s AI Godhead.

It is also interesting to contemplate what may happen when AI’s are designed by other AI’s- machines designing other machines.

After a detailed review of some of the ominous real and developing AI-related technology, the program highlights Anthony Levandowski, the brilliant engineer who was instrumental in developing Google’s Street Maps, Waymo’s self-driving cars, Otto’s self-driving trucks, the Lidar technology central to self-driving vehicles and the Way of the Future, super AI Godhead.

Further insight into Levandowski’s personality can be gleaned from e‑mails with Travis Kalanick, former CEO of Uber: ” . . . . In Kalanick, Levandowski found both a soulmate and a mentor to replace Sebastian Thrun. Text messages between the two, disclosed during the lawsuit’s discovery process, capture Levandowski teaching Kalanick about lidar at late night tech sessions, while Kalanick shared advice on management. ‘Down to hang out this eve and mastermind some shit,’ texted Kalanick, shortly after the acquisition. ‘We’re going to take over the world. One robot at a time,’ wrote Levandowski another time. . . .”

Those who view self-driving cars and other AI-based technologies as flawless would do well to consider the following: ” . . . .Last December, Uber launched a pilot self-driving taxi program in San Francisco. As with Otto in Nevada, Levandowski failed to get a license to operate the high-tech vehicles, claiming that because the cars needed a human overseeing them, they were not truly autonomous. The DMV disagreed and revoked the vehicles’ licenses. Even so, during the week the cars were on the city’s streets, they had been spotted running red lights on numerous occasions. . . . .”

Noting Levandowski’s personality quirks, the article poses a fundamental question: ” . . . . But even the smartest car will crack up if you floor the gas pedal too long. Once feted by billionaires, Levandowski now finds himself starring in a high-stakes public trial as his two former employers square off. By extension, the whole technology industry is there in the dock with Levandowski. Can we ever trust self-driving cars if it turns out we can’t trust the people who are making them? . . . .”

Levandowski’s Otto self-driving trucks might be weighed against the prognostications of dark horse Presidential candidate and former tech executive Andrew Wang: “. . . . ‘All you need is self-driving cars to destabilize society,’ Mr. Yang said over lunch at a Thai restaurant in Manhattan last month, in his first interview about his campaign. In just  a few years, he said, ‘we’re going to have a million truck drivers out of work who are 94 percent male, with an  average  level of education of high school or one year of college.’ ‘That one innovation,’ he added, ‘will be enough to create riots in the street. And we’re about to do the  same thing to retail workers, call center workers, fast-food workers, insurance companies, accounting firms.’ . . . .”

Theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking warned at the end of 2014 of the potential danger to humanity posed by the growth of AI (artificial intelligence) technology. His warnings have been echoed by tech titans such as Tesla’s Elon Musk and Bill Gates.

The program concludes with Mr. Emory’s prognostications about AI, preceding Stephen Hawking’s warning by twenty years.

Program Highlights Include:

1.-Levandowski’s apparent shepherding of a company called–perhaps significantly–Odin Wave to utilize Lidar-like technology.
2.-The role of DARPA in initiating the self-driving vehicles contest that was Levandowski’s point of entry into his tech ventures.
3.-Levandowski’s development of the Ghostrider self-driving motorcycles, which experienced 800 crashes in 1,000 miles.

Peter Thiel’s Political/Philosophical Influences: ” . . . Carl Schmitt . . . a Nazi and the Third Reich’s Preeminent Legal Theorist. . . ”

Trump may be appointing Peter Thiel as head of his President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. Thiel is heavily influenced by Carl Schmitt, (on the right in the photograph) “. . . . a Nazi and the Third Reich’s preeminent legal theorist. For Thiel, Schmitt is an inspiring throwback to a pre-Enlightenment age, who exalts struggle and insists that the discovery of enemies is the foundation of politics. . .” We have been warning about Thiel since July of 2010. Don’t Think Twice, It’s “Alt-right”: Nazi Fellow Traveler Chuck Johnson Helping Trump Transition Team

Notorious troll, blogger and Nazi/white-supremacist fellow traveler Charles “Chuck” Johnson has substantive input in Trump’s cabinet selections–“Chuck” may be operating in tandem with Peter Thiel, whose database named the “Plum List” bears a striking similarity to a website “ThePlumlist.com,” apparently being used by Johnson to help staff Trump’s administration.

“Alt Right” Assange, the Facebook “Virtual Panopticon” and the Victory of the Trumpenkampfverbande

WikiLeaks is a fascist, “Alt-Right” institution that aided Trump’s election. Facebook, one of whose largest stockholders is Trump supporter Peter Thiel, also helped aid the election of “The Donald.” All of the contents of this website as of 12/19/2014–Dave Emory’s 35+ years of research and broadcasting–as well as hours of videotaped lectures are available on a 32GB flash drive. FTR #922 The Trumpenkampfverbande, Part 5: Walkin’ the Snake with “The Donald” (The Underground Reich Comes Into Plain View, Part 3)

Supplementing analysis in the first four programs about the Trumpenkampfverbande, this program examines the media bias in his favor in the context of the Nazi tract “Serpent’s Walk,” about a Nazi takeover of the U.S. in the mid-twenty-first century. That takeover occurs after the SS goes underground (which happened), builds up their “economic muscle,” (which has happened with the Bormann network), buys into the opinion-forming media (which has happened) and sways the American people. “A century after the war they are ready to challenge the democrats and Jews for the hearts and minds of White Americans, who have begun to have their fill of government-enforced multi-culturalism and ‘equality.’ ” This appears to be happening with the Trump campaign. Noting the incessant grilling of Hillary Clinton over the e‑mail non-scandal (110 of 30,000 e‑mails contained classified material, a 0.36 percent margin of error) and the Clinton Foundation (a charity that helps the disadvantage and enjoys a higher official rating than the American Red Cross), Paul Krugman compared this–accurately–to the kid glove treatment afforded the dishonest and incompetent George W. Bush during the 2000 campaign. Reviewing Trump’s creditors, we note the primary role of Deutsche Bank in underwriting his real estate projects and the mysterious, opaque projects involving German industrial and aristocratic elements. After reviewing the absolute control that the Bormann capital network wields over corporate Germany, the program highlights the fundamental relationship between Deutsche Bank, Bormann and the remarkable and deadly network the Reichsleiter founded. Heavily invested in American corporations, the Bormann group and the Underground Reich are in an excellent position to manipulate media coverage of events, through direct corporate editorial policy and through the awarding of advertising contracts. We note, also, that the Bormann group controls corporate Germany: ” . . . What will not pass is the economic influences of the Bormann organization, whose commercial directives are obeyed almost without question by the highest echelons of West German finance and industry. ‘All orders come from the shareholders in South America,’ I have been told by a spokesman for Martin Bormann. . . .” The control of corporate Germany further enhances the ability of the Underground Reich to control media coverage. We are of the considered opinion that this dynamic is a major factor in the grotesquely slanted coverage of Trump’s campaign. While the “pundits” natter endlessly about Hillary Clinton’s health (never even considering that she may have been vectored), they are completely ignoring the fact that Trump is hundreds of millions of dollars in debt to Deutsche Bank, a predatory “too big to fail” institution that has flouted this country’s regulatory statutes and engaged in open law breaking. And, it’s a Bormann bank. The broadcast concludes with a transitional element that notes Trump’s political evolution from the anarcho/fascist libertarian milieu of Ron Paul, the same political forces that are the foundation of “Team Snowden” and WikiLeaks/Assange. ” . . . . Trump’s style and positions — endorsing and consorting with 9/11 truthers, promoting online racists, using fake statistics— draw on a now-obscure political strategy called “paleolibertarianism,” which was once quite popular among some Republicans, especially former presidential candidate Ron Paul. . . . But it was [Murray] Rothbard’s founding of the Ludwig von Mises Institute in 1982 that enabled the fledgling political movement to establish affinity with the neo-Confederate Lost Cause movement. . . . In the past few years, however, it’s been reborn as the alt-right, as a new generation of libertarians discovered their hidden heritage and began embracing racism and conspiracy theories. Many alt-right writers trace their roots to Rothbard. As one of them, Gregory Hood, put it, paleolibertarian theories about race and democracy “helped lead to the emergence [of the] Alternative Right.” Rothbard’s call for “sovereign nations based on race and ethnicity” is very similar to beliefs Trump’s alt-right supporters express today. . . .” Program Highlights Include: review of the ownership of the Quandt corporation, parent company of BMW and Audi automobiles by the heirs of Joseph Goebbels; BMW’s use of advertising contracts to influence editorial policy at “The Atlantic” magazine; review of George Soros’s role in financing Trump’s Chicago tower; review of the genesis of Soros’s business career “Aryanizing” Jewish property during the Holocaust.

Peter Thiel Becomes a Trump Delegate

Peter Thiel is a Donald Trump delegate from California. Thiel is also the largest stockholder in Facebook and Palantir. In addition, he provided most of the funding for Eddie the Friendly Spook’s Presidential candidate of choice, Ron Paul. Is Comey Destabilizing the Democratic Party for the GOP?

A Mitt Romney backer and former George W. Bush Justice Department staffer, James Comey is taking actions that are destabilizing both the Obama administration and the Clinton candidacy. FTR #888 Compendium on Citizen Greenwald: A Shiller for Killers

Drawing together material from previous programs and posts, this broadcast highlights Citizen Greenwald’s role as “a shiller for killers.” QUICK–who do you think said this?: “The parade of evils caused by illegal immigration is widely known, . . . illegal immigration wreaks havoc economically, socially, and culturally; makes a mockery of the rule of law; and is disgraceful just on basic fairness grounds alone. . . . unmanageably endless hordes of people pour over the border in numbers far too large to assimilate, and who consequently have no need, motivation or ability to assimilate. . . [they pose a threat to] middle-class suburban voters.” Donald Trump, right? Wrong–it was Glenn Greenwald.

Beginning with discussion of Greenwald’s role in suppressing journalistic coverage of, and basic freedom of speech about, Big Tobacco’s lethal marketing practices, we note his role in the Wachtell Lipton suit. That suit forced the cancellation of a “Frontline” broadcast and muzzled key whistleblowers from even discussing the documents revealing cigarette manufacturers’ sinister activity.

Once in private practice, Greenwald continued his work as a shiller for killers, running legal interference for the “leaderless resistance” strategy by protecting Nazi killers against civil suits and murder charges.

In addition to defending Nazi leader Matthew Hale against a suit brought by victims of one of his murderous foot soldiers, Greenwald defended him when he solicited the murder of Judge Joan Lefkow. Judge Lefkow’s husband and mother were shot to death in her home, after one of Hale’s followers posted the judge’s home address, a map to her home and pictures of her family online. Apparently Citizen Greenwald’s concern for internet privacy did not extent to the unfortunate Judge Lefkow.

Greenwald also defended the National Alliance and other anti-immigration groups against a suit that held them liable for beating and stabbing attacks on Mexican day laborers. The National Alliance publishes books specifically intended to motivate racial violence.

Program Highlights Include: the anti-immigrant views and rhetoric of Greenwald’s clients and associates; his role shilling for the Muslim Brotherhood; Greenwald’s violation of ethics when taping witnesses; Greenwald’s association with Nazi Andrew Auernheimer; Greenwald’s co-hosting of an event with neo-Confederate advocate Jacob Hornberger, as well as Ron Paul; Greenwald’s intellectual championing of virulently “anti-immigrant” former GOP congressman Tom Tancredo.
