As the title indi­cates this pro­gram brings up to date a num­ber of sto­ries cov­ered in the past and intro­duces some new top­ics of dis­cus­sion. The top­ics cov­ered include: JFK’s 1963 attempts at nor­mal­iz­ing rela­tions with Cuba; new infor­ma­tion cast­ing doubt on the “lone nut” the­o­ry of the 2001 anthrax attacks (which fin­gered Bruce Ivins as a “lone nut” per­pe­tra­tor); Span­ish Prime Min­is­ter Mar­i­ano Rajoy’s sup­pres­sion of polit­i­cal dis­sent, echo­ing the poli­cies of Fran­cis­co Fran­co; a Catholic mass held to hon­or the mem­o­ry of the mur­der­ous World War II Ustachi leader Ante Pavel­ic; the glob­al eco­nom­ic elites’ pur­suit of the same eco­nom­ic poli­cies that drove peo­ple into the arms of fas­cism in the 1930’s; Ayn Rand’s role in inves­ti­gat­ing the 1940’s movie “It’s a Won­der­ful Life” as pos­si­ble cryp­to-Com­mu­nist pro­pa­gan­da; the GOP’s imple­men­ta­tion of fraud­u­lent “dynam­ic scor­ing” eco­nom­ic eval­u­a­tion; the­o­ret­i­cal physi­cist Stephen Hawk­ing’s warn­ing that the devel­op­ment of Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence could threat­en the exis­tence of human­i­ty; Mr. Emory’s 1995 warn­ing that the devel­op­ment of Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence could threat­en the exis­tence of human­i­ty.


FTR #826 Bringing It All Back Home, Ukrainian Style, Part 2

In FTR #824, we not­ed the deci­sive role played by the Ukrain­ian dias­po­ra in the events unfold­ing in East­ern Europe. Petro Poroshenko is imple­ment­ing a legal gam­bit to per­mit for­eign nation­als to assume cab­i­net posi­tions in his new gov­ern­ment. In par­tic­u­lar, Poroshenko expressed the desire to incor­po­rate cit­i­zens of the U.S., Geor­gia and Lithua­nia in Ukraine’s gov­ern­ment. In short order, Ukrainian/American State Depart­ment Offi­cer Natal­ie Jaresko, Lithuan­ian-born U.S. cit­i­zen Air­vas Abramovi­cius and Geor­gian Alek­san­dre Kvi­tashvili assumed the posts of finance min­is­ter, eco­nom­ic and devel­op­ment and trade min­is­ter and health min­is­ter respec­tive­ly. All three were edu­cat­ed in the Unit­ed States. Jaresko is a for­mer State Depart­ment offi­cer with close links to the US Agency for Inter­na­tion­al Devel­op­ment. The appoint­ments come as Ukraine is close to default­ing on a $17bn IMF loan and mem­bers of Ukraine’s fas­cist vol­un­teer bat­tal­ions are lob­by­ing Con­gress for mil­i­tary aid. Poroshenko is also grant­i­ng cit­i­zen­ship to for­eign-born neo-Nazis, as well as insti­tut­ing an infor­ma­tion min­istry that crit­ics have com­pared to The Min­istry of Truth from George Orwell’s 1984.

Sup­ple­ment­ing pre­vi­ous work about the Ukrain­ian crisis–one which might spark a nuclear war–we note the deci­sive role of the OUN/B dias­po­ra in the coa­les­cence of fas­cism in that trou­bled nation. The U.S., Cana­da joined Ukraine as the only nations to vote against a U.N. Gen­er­al Assem­bly res­o­lu­tion con­demn­ing the glo­ri­fi­ca­tion of Nazi col­lab­o­ra­tors as “free­dom fight­ers,” prob­a­bly because of the large OUN/B con­tin­gents present in those coun­tries. (Ger­many and the oth­er EU nations abstained.) Most of the broad­cast access­es a very impor­tant arti­cle by George Elia­son detail­ing the his­tor­i­cal back­ground of the Ukrain­ian dias­po­ra, trac­ing the roots of Ukrain­ian, cen­tral and East­ern Euro­pean fas­cism to the 19th cen­tu­ry ultra-nation­al­ist excep­tion­al­ism fos­tered by the Aus­tro-Hun­gar­i­an Empire. Nur­tured by the Promethean League between the World Wars, Nazi Ger­many dur­ing the Sec­ond World War and the West­ern democ­ra­cies dur­ing the Cold War, that vir­u­lent, bloody ide­ol­o­gy tri­umphed after the breakup of the U.S.S.R. The pro­gram con­cludes by not­ing that Poroshenko has pro­posed bring­ing in cit­i­zens of the U.S., Lithua­nia and Geor­gia to staff the Ukrain­ian fed­er­al police.


Stunning: U.S. Votes AGAINST U.N. Resolution Condemning Nazis and Nazi Collaborators

This past week, the U.S. was one of three coun­tries to vote against a U.N. res­o­lu­tion con­demn­ing the cel­e­bra­tion of Nazi col­lab­o­ra­tors as “free­dom fighters”–something the U.S. has been pro­mot­ing since the end of World War II. Ger­many and the EU nations abstained. Ukraine itself and Cana­da were the oth­er coun­tries that vot­ed against the res­o­lu­tion. The OUN/B dias­po­ra and its influ­ence in the GOP and intel­li­gence ser­vices of the U.S. is the pri­ma­ry con­sid­er­a­tion to be weighed in con­nec­tion with this dis­grace­ful episode. German Economic Colonization of Ukraine

With the U.S. and Ger­many respec­tive­ly play­ing Bad Cop (mil­i­tary aid and sanc­tions) and Good Cop (eco­nom­ic aid and resis­tance to fur­ther sanc­tions at the behest of key Ger­man cor­po­ra­tions invest­ed in Rus­sia), the fol­low-up to the covert oper­a­tion result­ing in the coup d’e­tat of ear­ly 2014 is pro­ceed­ing apace. Ger­man industry–surprise, surprise–plans to mod­ern­ize Ukrain­ian indus­tries and estab­lish sub­con­tract­ing arrange­ments to build auto­mo­biles in that cheap labor mar­ket. This will be cou­pled by the aus­ter­i­ty doc­trine we have termed “Von Clause­witz­ian eco­nom­ics.”


FTR #766 Bob Dylan vs. The Ustachi

Bob Dylan was charged with a hate crime after ref­er­enc­ing the Croa­t­ian geno­cide against Serbs (and oth­ers) dur­ing World War II. A pup­pet state of the Third Reich dur­ing the Sec­ond World War, the Ustachi were heav­i­ly sup­port­ed by the Vat­i­can, which (along with ele­ments of U.S. intel­li­gence), aid­ed their escape to the Amer­i­c­as after the war. Coa­lesc­ing into part of the GOP’s eth­nic her­itage orga­ni­za­tion, the Ustachi were nur­tured by assis­tance from Richard Nixon, Ronald Rea­gan, George H.W. Bush and William Casey. Ger­many, the Vat­i­can and the U.S. assist­ed the re-seces­sion of Croa­t­ia and the resus­ci­ta­tion of a neo-Ustachi milieu.

For decades, we’ve been research­ing the Croa­t­ian fas­cists known as Ustachi. In an inter­view in Rolling Stone mag­a­zine, Bob Dylan made a ref­er­ence to the Ustachi slaugh­ter of Serbs (as well as Jews and gyp­sies) by the Ustachi. Sub­se­quent­ly, Dylan was charged with a hate crime by France/EU! A Croa­t­ian soc­cer play­er recent­ly stirred up Ustachi sen­ti­ments at a World Cup qual­i­fy­ing match.

A care­tak­er Pope, Bene­dict XVI presided over numer­ous inquiries into Vat­i­can malfea­sance. His res­ig­na­tion rais­es the ques­tion as to what will fol­low. Steeped in the Vat­i­can’s long-stand­ing rela­tion­ship with fas­cism, the out­go­ing Pope presided over a white­wash of Pius XII’s involve­ment with the Third Reich and a blunt­ing of inquiries into the molesta­tion scan­dals unfold­ing around the world.


Horror Show in the Balkans

The NATO-installed regime of Hasim Thaci man­i­fests per­va­sive polit­i­cal and social crim­i­nal­i­ty. Thaci is alleged to main­tain a harem of more than 50 sex slaves, held in bondage by his body­guards and report­ed­ly offer­ing their favors to KFOR and EULEX per­son­nel. Suc­ces­sors to the 21st Waf­fen SS (“Skan­der­beg”) Divi­sion and oth­er fas­cist fight­ing for­ma­tions from World War II, the Koso­vo Lib­er­a­tion Army has turned that for­mer Ser­bian province into lit­tle more than a Ger­man colony. Much of the inter­na­tion­al com­mu­ni­ty con­tin­ues to view Koso­vo as a crim­i­nal enti­ty oper­at­ing out­side the enve­lope of inter­na­tion­al law.
